How do I stop my writing from becoming repetitive?
>and then, I verbed adjectively, as he
I want to eat a gun.
>>9063909
Vary your comma use, sometimes cutting them out of sentences entirely. Throw in some semicolons and em dashes even if you have noidea how they work. Try to describe things or talk about them longer. Figure out how to do more than just saying what happened in a way that doesn't feel awkward or forced to you.
>>9063966
thank you
>>9063909
>adjectively
You're a lost cause.
Do you like swear words in literature?
They're as good as any other words. Plus swearing in English is kind of cute in it's expressive deficiency compared to other languages.
>>9063889
I prefer the use of "d---" as in romantic novels.
Only in dialogue.
>>9063896
>expressive deficiency
Confirmed for never having been to Ireland, Scotland or Australia.
Philosophers are such hacks.
I've arrived at plenty a philosophical concept independently only to later find out about some wrinkled old guy who came up with the same idea.
There's no doubt in my mind these people are given credit for way more than they deserve. They got a little from here and a little from there, slapped a label onto it and got famous through sheer luck and by appealing to popular trends.
Yet people worship them like they are some kind of deities descended from the sky bringing brand new shit to the table.
They did not.
Literally nobody is worshiping philosophers.
>>9063825
this is literally exemplified in another thread i was on, but i wonder if you come to that conclusion genuinely independently, or does the philosopher and culture itself hold such an influence over you that it is inevitable for you to come to these conclusions seemingly of your own volition, when in fact it's an inceptionesque germination of seeds planted by these genius predecessors, shapers of civilization as we know it? best thing to consider is the possibility of hubris clouding your judgement.

A lot of their aphorisms concerning these topics are great but I was looking for literature/novels.

what can Nietzsche teach me about truth?
>>9063716
how about you read nietzsche... and then you'll see what truth actually is
>>9063723
yeah that was the quote i forgot what it was
In "Truth and Lies in a Non-moral Sense," Nietzsche writes about how truth is socially constructed by society in order to avoid pain; that what is considered painful is categorized as a lie and what is best for the weak is truth. He says that this is fucking dumb, and that what humans think is painful doesn't matter wrt to truth. At the same time, he expresses serious doubt about whether or not humans have access to any kind of truth, and so he suggests the rejection of commonly held truth in order to live by one's own truth.
I know this is a meme thread, but it's an interesting little essay. It's very early Nietzsche, so keep in mind that he thought a bit differently by the end of his career.
So I just read My Diary by Edmund Evans and I don't see why it's so highly recommended on /lit/. Am I missing something? Am I a pleb? Why did you guys like it?
The book we recommend is entitled "my diary desu" (マイダイアリー です). It is very rare and not available anywhere online. I was able to find mine through a rare books dealer (myself). I translated it from the original Japanese and have considered sharing it, but I think it would be unfair that others be spared the great toil to which I was subjected.
>>9063673
Ah, makes sense. I was wondering why a children's illustrated novel was so highly praised by /lit/.
I want to read something that will blow my mind, destroy my preconceptions of the universe, and trigger my imagination.
What do I read?
Nobody else will recommend it, but perhaps... a book?
my diary desu

Hey /lit/, first time poster here.
You guys don't seem to have a /stupid questions general/ thread on here so I hope you don't mind if I open this thread for my stupid question:
What version(s) of "The Book of the New Sun" is (are) recommended?
(pic related, for example, is from Orb (I think))
>>9063538
Why would you need a specific 'version'? Book was written in English, brah.
It's english so literally whatever the fuck you want

I made $435 dollars a day working from home with one simple trick THEY don't want you to know about
also, translations meme, faggot
>>9063336
this. you could've just emailed them or messaged their Facebook page, OP.
Why is it so long?
All I know about it is the windmill and I can't think of what else could possibly happen. Is it verbose like Paradise Lost or something?
Read it dumbass
>>9063314
thats a pretty edition

Just join the reading group for motivation. It's a great novel though.
>Abul ʿAla Al-Maʿarri (Arabic أبو العلاء المعري Abū al-ʿAlāʾ al-Maʿarrī, full name أبو العلاء أحمد بن عبد الله بن سليمان التنوخي المعري Abū al-ʿAlāʾ Aḥmad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Sulaimān al-Tanūẖī al-Maʿarrī; 973–1057)
>Described as a "pessimistic freethinker", Al-Maʿarri was a controversial rationalist of his time, citing reason as the chief source of truth. He was pessimistic about life, describing himself as "a double prisoner" of blindness and isolation. He attacked the dogmas of religion and rejected Islam. He was equally sarcastic towards the religions of Jews, Christians and Zoroastrians. He advocated social justice, and lived a secluded, ascetic lifestyle. He became a strict vegan, writing "do not desire as food the flesh of slaughtered animals."[2] Al-Maʿarri held an anti-natalist view, in line with his general pessimism, suggesting that children should not be born to spare them of the pains of life.
Is he *the original*?
>>9063296
It's funny when Muslims claim that he's one of them.
>>9063296
No, I am.
>>9063296

How should I get started? Any crazy wacky tips? I'm hoping to engage enough people and sway them so that I can one day take power and install a new Fourth Reich.
I'm interested in what your "struggle" has been like
Did you one day go for 10 hours before eating?
Did you lose your mom at the supermarket once?
Did Tommy from school take your eraser?
No normal publisher is going to pick this up, so familiarize yourself with the white nationalist publishing houses.
Most likely your book will be printed and spiral bound in some bearded dude's garage.

What is the most overrated book?
Either the Bible or the Quran.
>>9063115
my word. that pic is horrible.
great expectations was great for what it was, a book for a child.
Ann Karenina is the most overrated book in existence.
Why does everytime I talk about myself I sound pretentious?
How to overcome this?
>>9063065
You're not anyone special, therefore you must understand you are not of importance to anyone. You are just another human being. another ant working for the queen.
Only he with status, power and respect is allowed to look down on others as he has the prerequisities in which he can be considered "better than someone else". It is because you lack these things that you are who you are and you must accept the reality that you truly are;
Nobody special.
>>9063065
