Anyone want to help me pen my suicide note?
Go get some help.
Not with the note, but your damn self.
Hello Mom and Dad,
I am a faggot who gave up on myself and my ability to do something with my life. I would apologize for what I did but that would probably only embarrass you more.
Anon
It's obvious I don't give a single shit about myself even to the point that I can't even write sincerely at the face of death. I'm a huge dissapointment even to you, dear reader. I won't be missed but I can't say I care. I don't care and that's why I chose this path.
Kys yourselves too and rip in peace.
“Neoliberal democracy. Instead of citizens, it produces consumers. Instead of communities, it produces shopping malls. The net result is an atomized society of disengaged individuals who feel demoralized and socially powerless.
In sum, neoliberalism is the immediate and foremost enemy of genuine participatory democracy, not just in the United States but across the planet, and will be for the foreseeable future.”
Neoliberalism is as valid as a concept as "Cultural Marxism".

Young Noam was so kawaii
Did literature peak with him?
Rank what you've read of this genius.
Nabokov is always right:
Dostoevsky, Fyodor. Dislike him. A cheap sensationalist, clumsy and vulgar. A prophet, a claptrap journalist and a slapdash comedian. Some of his scenes are extraordinarily amusing. Nobody takes his reactionary journalism seriously.
The Double. His best work, though an obvious and shameless imitation of Gogol's "Nose."
The Brothers Karamazov. Dislike it intensely.
Crime and Punishment. Dislike it intensely. Ghastly rigmarole.
1. The Idiot
2. Child & Porn
3. Karamazov Bros
4. Notes
1. Crime and Punishment
That's all I've read of him but I liked it enough to buy The Brothers Karamazov
What is the best legal way to get epub files online? I know the sticky links to bookzz, but I'd like to find an alternative that isn't as shitty as Open Library.
Other than pirating, what real option is there?

Think about it until you die, not accomplishing anything.
It's not like it matters.
Can we have a discussion about this series?
>inb4 child's series
For a kid's series, it's damn good. There are some stupid parts, but I find it to be genuinely enjoyable. Just finished the first arc of books.

These books made 9-10 yr old me beg for a cat.

>Hey let's make this character look smart with a cheap exposition shot of reading a hard book!
>What book, maestro?
>Why, Ulysses, of course! The hardest book of them all!
This is literature in pop culture.
Yeah, they probably wanted her to be reading Ulysses, but the prop department messed up. That's Stuart Gilbert's study of Ulysses, not the novel.

How do I get a qt /lit/ daughter like Rory?
>Yeah, I really like Ulysses, Dublin seems like an interesting place.
>"Dublin? Ulysses?"
>"Why would Homer write about Dublin?"
“The whole educational and professional training system is a very elaborate filter, which just weeds out people who are too independent, and who think for themselves, and who don't know how to be submissive, and so on -- because they're dysfunctional to the institutions.”
How true is this statement?
8.5/10 for truthiness

What are some great books for a depressed, edgy 21 year-old?
The Bible
or The Quran, but be careful because that's a text that's meant to be taken literally (as opposed the Bible) - read some of the popular Sunnah's so you don't misinterpret the primary text and go full durka durka
on the heights of despair by emil cioran
it's only dismissed as edgy by the exact people that cioran dismisses as superficial fuccbois

How do you write dialogue / make it sound natural?
>>9254430
Talk with people or listen to conversations and take note of things like cues, responses and the tones of discussions. It really isn't hard unless you have a condition which pertains to social retardation (ie Autism or Aspergers)
>>9254430
>dialogue
it's been played out
>>9254430
Just listen to the way people talk.
Also, rewriting. Don't be afraid to cut your dialogue or change it if you read it back out loud and it sounds retarded.
I feel like a lot of young writers try and set up "funny lines" they already had in their head with their dialogue. It always sounds forced. Don't try to be funnier than you are. And if you read it out loud and it doesn't sound like something you'd expect from a human being, then cut it.
I assume you've talked to human beings before. You should be able to tell when something doesn't sound like conversation.

How do you describe being in love?

Painful.
An anon here once described it in a way I really loved. He said love was like a velvet tourniquet, with all of what that implies.
delirious desire to destroy
Never been into reading. However, I'm starting to think that maybe Kaczynski was right and that I should try to seek less entertainment from electronics and more from paper? Should I really start with the Greeks?
No, start with roman adapatations of greek plays by Plautus and Terence, then read the greeks.
>>9254145
If you really think Kaczynski was right, you should move to a cabin in the woods and survive on what you can gather or catch. Not even memeing you btw, I have seriously considered doing the same.
