The slogan "Make America Great Again"
Le Sacre du printemps of course
Something in the literary department, and just online writing in general, has annoyed me over the years.
"Sure."
I really, really hate this word when people are writing these days, whether it's for an article or in a discussion.
"So, this guy shouldn't have had a gun in the first place. Sure, gun regulations are pretty good, but..."
It's like they are taking the non responsible term of "sure" and adding it to their responses as if to shoot down any kind of counter point. It's pretty annoying of a phrase and really makes the person seem a lot more anal than they are not trying to be.
This has to have been an increase lately through this culture of writing and debating responses, as if they are pre emptively shutting down any kind of discourse to what they're saying.

Debates accomplish nothing. You realise this once you become an adult.
>>9381252
It accomplishes nothing if your measurement of accomplishment is wheter or not you convinced the opposing part.
nah
Who had the best prose style of all time?
I nominate this man, Sir Thomas Browne.
List the specific work if your nominee's style changed over time.
At the end I'll tally this up and see who /lit/ agrees is the best.

>you speak a single language
>you read contemporary versions of Shakespeare or Milton
>you read for the plot
>you read for entertainment
>you rarely read nonfiction

This is a board about literature. You're not welcome here. Please take your plebeian garbage to /b/ or reddit, where you will find both a demographic and a general atmosphere more consistent with your tastes and your culture.
Also, what is the patrician book you are reading right now?
boring pasta
Your life must be so miserable.

The fact that you felt the need to post this makes everything you said irrelevant to me. Go back now or read more.
Every time I try to read philosophy I immediately feel disgust. It's all so reductionistic. Every second paragraph I feel the urge to mock the author: "You missed the point faggot!".
Sad state of affairs. You will tell me I think I'm smart but I'm not that smart. I'm not that smart. You will tell me I'm biased, psychologically. I'm biased.
Glad we got me out of the way.
Yikes
Philosophy is for faggots. Don't you see the daily threads on /lit/?
>Holy shite guys Nietzsckzsche is chnging my soul Im litrally a new person what is hapenin to me!!!1!1!

Has there ever been a greater thinker or example of a cultural critic? Like the man had an absolute monster of a mind. He literally changed the way people think. He covered almost every major topic. He had no biased narrative

But it is so obvious when a newfag first encounters Nietzsche because they always post a thread about how good he is

Explain all of Hegel to me right now or Derek Smart will develop Freespace 3
Nobody can explain Hegel. This explains how he has been used to justify anything and how his interpretations have so massive range.
>>9380695
Hegel's being explained as I write this, anon. Just look out in the window. Doesn't the benevolent glare of zeitgeist responds to you?
Nobody will spoonfeed you.
Is he the last great French writer?
No, I am.

The BBC and NPR are decent. They're pretty up front with their ideological positions.
Do you read manga, /lit/? I think most of it is shit and only for weebs but I read three mangas by Inio Asano last year and I think he is very lit.
Manga is for manchildren. You know the fat loser kids who collect comic books into their 40s? Same with these weebs. Read a book please.
>>9380508
You are a much bigger faggot than any of those manchildren ever could be.
