"The female, he contended, “is, so to speak, a deformed male” (Generation of Animals 737a). At times, as was the case with the Hippocratics, Aristotle’s powers of observation deserted him when women were their subject. The twentieth-century philosopher Bertrand Russell quipped that Aristotle would not have claimed that women had fewer teeth than men if he had allowed his wife to open her mouth."

"There is a great deal in Nietzsche that must be dismissed as merely megalomaniac… It is obvious that in his day-dreams he is a warrior, not a professor; all the men he admires were military. His opinion of women, like every man’s, is an objectification of his own emotion towards them, which is obviously one of fear. “Forget not thy whip”–but nine women out of ten would get the whip away from him, and he knew it, so he kept away from women, and soothed his wounded vanity with unkind remarks."

"Fucked" is relative though. If you can earn enough to live on and save some, nothing's stopping you from being happy.

Is writing poetry about love and women beta faggotry ?
Is listening love song for cucks ?
What /lit thinks ?
8 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Well, it depends. For example, veritable knowledge can't be gained without having known what love and as many similar things as posible is/are. But there is a certain point where this should stop, not to be dramatized and overused because if so, it is just a sign of frustration and of low intellect.

Does seeing your bookshelf amass with completed books give you a sense of accomplishment?

A ~6 years ago I started hoarding books for a couple years without ever reading them. 2-3 years ago I actually started reading them. I now have a large bookshelf full of books I've read and looking at it gives me a real sense of accomplishment.

Getting off the computer and spending a few hours reading in bed also fixed my bad sleeping habits

>The writer Umberto Eco belongs to that small class of scholars who are encyclopedic, insightful, and nondull. He is the owner of a large personal library (containing thirty thousand books), and separates visitors into two categories: those who react with “Wow! Signore professore dottore Eco, what a library you have! How many of these books have you read?” and the others — a very small minority — who get the point that a private library is not an ego-boosting appendage but a research tool. Read books are far less valuable than unread ones. The library should contain as much of what you do not know as your financial means, mortgage rates, and the currently tight real-estate market allows you to put there. You will accumulate more knowledge and more books as you grow older, and the growing number of unread books on the shelves will look at you menacingly. Indeed, the more you know, the larger the rows of unread books. Let us call this collection of unread books an antilibrary.

-Nassim Nicholas Taleb

I have the internet. I can research anything. If something is in a book that isn't online, I can buy it on Amazon and get it within 2 days.

I must say, though, it is nice having a lot of unread books because I can randomly grab something I'm in the moo for.
