It was a propaganda plan, plain and simple. The Volksradio and the newspapers fed the German people selected information and skewed perspectives of the war to keep them motivated.

Also, I totally forgot to answer to Germany's economy. It was strong because of the war. Because Hitler needed so many resources to fund his campaign of needless violence against his own people. The arms industry bloomed, for all the wrong reasons.

And do we need to talk about all the eventual defecting German soldiers who stopped believing in the cause because they realized the violence and loss of life wasn't worth simply acquiring more land? Because there were quite a lot of those. In Germany itself as well. The intellectual elite opposed what Hitler did because they saw the catastrophe coming, but they kept their mouths shut. Because political oppositions were again: persecuted, imprisoned and murdered.

So yeah, the third reich, at best, is a failed example of national socialism. And I didn't even mention the concentration camps and human expirementation. But that's all propaganda, right?
