It's a lovely albeit sad movie, but it doesn't really reflect current trans issues due to the time of the events. What fetish? I knew I was trans before my hormones kicked in. I knew I was a girl, and desperately wanted to be one. It was the world that only showed me love, or likely fetish lust on their part, when I expressed the sexual/sexy side of my self. I only got teasing and harassment when people found out I was a boy, and not a girl. At that point in my life I was so fucked up from how I was treated before I had no hope to be able to distinguish between somebody else's love and their fetish. First: AGP was coined by a researcher who was bad at research, and it has been thoroughly discredited. This is a guy who called MtF transsexuals who loved men as super gays. At it's core they are transsexuals who are attracted to females, and get a sexual rise out of seeing the female form of themselves. Some transsexuals go through this phase, but it usually goes away over time. Blanchard totally missed the fact that transsexuals transition because MtFs are feminine, and FtMs are masculine, and can't deal with the body they were born into.
Second: Romance novel, male or female lead character that is into the opposite sex. What is there in it for a female personality attracted to female bodies? I personally devour romance novels, but I'm a bisexual MtF, and at one point I would have been considered to have AGP. Read on on theory of self. We each have an image of ourselves that is remembered in our brains. That theory of self is slow to change. When I first transitioned, I saw myself in the mirror, and didn't recognize myself. It took two to three years before I properly recognized myself at a glance in the mirror. Half way through that 2-3 years I had a pretty good looking body, and bodies that good looking often caused arousal in me.
Third: Male sissy fetish is a person that wants to stay male, yet dress, behave and act feminine.
