It's a lovely albeit sad movie, but it doesn't really reflect current trans issues due to the time of the events. Still, some parts of the story is rather timeless I guess, such as coming out to a partner and exploring a new side of yourself. Hope I haven't spoiled it too much, I think that everyone should go to see it.
>>5689322 What? I see the exact story depicted in that movie in "Am I trans? " threads and posts every day. I think it's good that the public becomes aware of the fetishistic, evolution of individuals who became aroused by the idea of expressing themselves as the opposite gender, and then falling in love with the image they see, wanting to become him/her forever.
>>5689289 Yeah, I liked the score and the way the film was shot, but the narrative was trash. Not only was it inaccurate as to what actually happened in Elbe's life, but it painted trans identity as some weird disassociative fetish.
>>5689378 extreme fetishists =//= actual trans people born with gender dysphoria. Just because there's more fetishists than actual trans people doesn't mean it applies to everyone under the stupid umbrella society forced us under.
It's not even historically accurate. All this movie is is yet more misinformation from disingenuous popular media. But don't worry, we're used to it at this point.
>>5689426 I'm not trying to invalidate the identity of any trans individuals, hell I have a shit ton of fetishes myself. Browsing gay porn sites and the like, and finding bi guys on grindr, I always seem to find these "sissies" who want me to humiliate them while they're crossdressed, while dicking them down/whatever. Well, 2 of my fuck buddies transitioned now and I feel really bad for them frankly. I know they probably couldn't control themselves, but that fetish just seems dangerous to me, not something i'd tell someone to indulge in regularly. So now, whenever I think sissy, I think transexual soon and I don't want any part of that anymore. One of the guys even confided in me about how every time he masturbated, the desire to transition would become increasingly more powerful.
I loved this movie. It really helped me to understand trans people more. I never understood how it was possible for a man to feel like a woman or vice versa, but now I see that they're born with a desire to wear dresses, skirts and heels and feel a connection to the opposite sex in that way, so that means they have the mind of a man/woman.
>>5689256 The film is literally horrible... it's more like she has multiple personality disorder than her being trans and they play up this weird sexual element to her putting on girls clothes. Also the actor who plays her looks like a fucking psycho.
>>5689322 >makes trans people seem like sex perverts
Because they are? It's like you have never read Mtf gen, transbian gen, or any of the random posts on 4chan where trannies post about how much they want to be used as a cum sock for men complete with cum drenched anime girl pictures
>>5689561 >>5689683 Although it's not a movie and the synopsis sounds a little over-the-top, I would also recommend the miniseries Hit & Miss. It handles the main character's trans identity very well and is an overall very good series.
>>5689378 >It's funny cause you guys will deny the fetish to the moon and back What fetish? I knew I was trans before my hormones kicked in. I knew I was a girl, and desperately wanted to be one. It was the world that only showed me love, or likely fetish lust on their part, when I expressed the sexual/sexy side of my self. I only got teasing and harassment when people found out I was a boy, and not a girl. At that point in my life I was so fucked up from how I was treated before I had no hope to be able to distinguish between somebody else's love and their fetish. Any affirming attention, even if it was bad, was massively better then the teasing and harassment I'd endured for years.
>>5689557 As a MtF: It is more that we are born with a female mind, so we naturally imprint on females for our role models, and take on and want to do the things the females around us do. Those inputs can come from those immediately around us like parents, siblings, and classmates at school. It can also come from people we see in the media like on TV or web sites, etc..
>>5690828 No, that's reality. There are plenty of girls who are after sex, sex, sex. Read any autobiography by Pamela Des Barres, she made a life of chasing and fucking rock stars.
Another thing to remember is you don't know if the person posting that is really trans or is a troll trying to make trans look bad. I never hear comments like them in trans support meetings. Even when we delve deep into sex topics.
>>5696640 What if the person isn't attracted to men at all and is attracted to a sissified version of themselves being fucked by men like a cheap peace of meat? I feel like a distinction should be made between the male sissy fetish and the female sexuality. I'm a female and am frankly offended when someone compares my sexuality to that of an AGP male. I've never heard of an autogynephile that was into romance novels for instance, or have never even known them to talk about any sort of attraction to men, like normal females do. The closest thing there seems to be to the female sexuality is the gay boys who transition and watch yaoi, read slash, etc.
>>5696802 >What if the person isn't attracted to men at all and is attracted to a sissified version of themselves being fucked by men like a cheap peace of meat? lol You really think that is a likely possibility? Get your head checked. First: AGP was coined by a researcher who was bad at research, and it has been thoroughly discredited. This is a guy who called MtF transsexuals who loved men as super gays. At it's core they are transsexuals who are attracted to females, and get a sexual rise out of seeing the female form of themselves. Some transsexuals go through this phase, but it usually goes away over time. Blanchard totally missed the fact that transsexuals transition because MtFs are feminine, and FtMs are masculine, and can't deal with the body they were born into. Second: Romance novel, male or female lead character that is into the opposite sex. What is there in it for a female personality attracted to female bodies? I personally devour romance novels, but I'm a bisexual MtF, and at one point I would have been considered to have AGP. Read on on theory of self. We each have an image of ourselves that is remembered in our brains. That theory of self is slow to change. When I first transitioned, I saw myself in the mirror, and didn't recognize myself. It took two to three years before I properly recognized myself at a glance in the mirror. Half way through that 2-3 years I had a pretty good looking body, and bodies that good looking often caused arousal in me. Third: Male sissy fetish is a person that wants to stay male, yet dress, behave and act feminine. (cont)
>>5697503 (cont) >>5696802 >The closest thing there seems to be to the female sexuality is the gay boys who transition and watch yaoi, read slash, etc. You need to meet more transgenders. Sadly society has pushed most of them deep into the closet, and spread lies about them making them very afraid to show themselves. Most are very normal in their sexual attractions. >>5696703 Sometimes there is such a body of evidence that a theory is considered valid without absolute proof.
>>5696596 That's actually true. Almost every character I liked as a kid was a strong/intelligent female, Xena, Buffy, Misty, Kim Possible, Shego, Hermione, Bloom from Winx Club etc. And that goes WAY before I ever started puberty.
So a trans friend who has just come out suggested we see this with her. Should I point her towards a few writeups before we go see it? It doesn't sound like it's really going to convey the message she's hoping.
>>5696802 You know I'm genuinely offended by your stereotyping. If I said women are dumb and don't belong in lab but in kitchen you'd feel similar. >I've never heard of an autogynephile that was into romance novels for instance There are literally straight cis guys that are really really into romance novels. How the hell is reading romance novels some great sign of femininity?
>attraction to men, like normal females do Because every female is outspoken about her attraction. Also
>normal females >attraction to men lesbians would like to have a word with you
> The closest thing there seems to be to the female sexuality is the gay boys who transition and watch yaoi, read slash, etc. And who exactly gave you the right and authority to be the arbiter of what is and isn't female sexuality? How is yaoi female sexuality but straight porn is? You're again forgetting lesbians but I know for a fact there are straight women that also watch lesbian porn and can get off on it? What exactly IS female sexuality? Whatever you define it as?
>>5698277 The tone of your writing is very bitter. Would you like to explain to us why? They say the loudest Autogynephilics type the loudest you know. Also, the normal female is not a Lesbian. I have not once seen a female with a sissy fetish and have objectively seen many posts here where the OP claims that the overcomsumption of sissy pornography has created more than just a fetishistic desire to be female and even a VALID female identity as a result of indulging into the fetish. I don't know about you, bbut I've read of amputee fetish that deeply desired to cut off their leg after masturbating enough to the idea of themselves without a certain limb. I've seen a forum of guys who desired to castrate themselves because of their extreme ball-kicking fetish, so if your argument is "why would a person with a fetish transition?", you'd be wrong. Tell me, what makes you think you're not romantacizing the emasculation of your own male body? Sissies obviously AREN'T all happy being male and are quite clearly fetishizing the emasculation of males into females, so what makes you think you're any different? I could easily prove my point by inputting "sissy fetish transition", or "sissy hypnosis hormones" into google and show you what I mean about the people I speak of. They aren't rare, I can promise you that.
