>how old were you when you discovered you're trans?

I don't know, it was something I was of two minds about for a long time.

When I was in third grade, I was hospitalized in the same hospital that I was born in because I couldn't breathe. When I was discharged, I asked my mother what I would have been called if I had been born a girl. I was already afraid of what she might think, so I disguised the question by asking what my brothers would have been called as well. I was thinking something like, "having left the place of my birth for the second time, perhaps this could be something like the beginning of my new life as a girl." Sadly, I never did anything, even right after.

Since middle school, I was holding the opposing beliefs that I was not transgender and that I would rather be a girl. I had intrusive thoughts about being transgender and I kept ignoring them. When I wasn't denying it so strongly, I would get pushed back in the closet by relatively innocuous things. At 14, I started hating my father because I knew my parents wouldn't allow me to transition and he was a stronger representation of that prohibition in my mind than my mother. Unfortunately, I tried to bury that because I was stupidly religious "Honour thy father and thy mother," I might have been able to motivate myself to do something with that emotion.

When I finally started facing up to it, I guess I was 17. I then spent the years between 18 and 20 being suicidal.

>when did you come out?

I came out to my younger brother on the 16th of December, I think. He said he reacted homophobically at first, but he calmed down and accepted it for the most part, I think. I came out to my parents two days ago, on Monday. Their reaction wasn't anywhere near as violent as I thought it would be. They said they love me, but they don't seem to be on board with transition at all and seem to think it's just a phase or something that I will cope with without HRT. (to continue in next post)

>when did you come out? (continued)

My father also thinks it's sexual abuse that made me this way, even though I have never been sexually abused. I think I might be making progress on my father, though. Which makes me sad, because if it's true that I can manage to convince them, I would have only had to say something sooner, back when it mattered, to prevent all the shit I have been through.

>when did you start hrt?

I started taking estradiol pills the first time on July 2, 2015, but stopped because I had been having headaches from a month, which is when I started spironolactone (not sure if that was the cause.) I started again on August 21, 2015. Or when I was 20 years and 7 months old.

>how long have you been on hrt?

I have been on HRT continuously for about 4.5 months. I wish the number were 7 years and 6 months, as that would make me around 13 and a half.

>have you had any surgeries? (if so, when?)

No. I'm not even sure about surgery. I don't have the cash for it, and wouldn't for a while. Besides, starting before puberty has the chance to start is always better than surgery, no matter how much money you have.

>do you pass?

No. I have a beard shadow at all times. I am not sure at all what potential I have of passing, but I'm not going to post my face to find out.

>do you ever think about detransitioning?

Not really, since I've never gone out in public dressed as a woman. However, I do give thought to having to live as a male for the rest of my life because of never passing. Yet, I think I'll be dead before next January.

>Why not? I'm /t/ after all.

Well, if you started HRT at 13, you've got virtually nothing in common with us, since you cut puberty off at it's head. The biggest commonality would be SRS and public treatment/perception for being trans.

I just realized you're at most like a year older than I am, too, now I'm jelly.

Could you tell the story of how you came out?

>how old were you when you discovered you're trans?
Thinking back to my childhood, I can see that I've been having trans feelings for a long time. I'm going to say 11-12, but it's probably been longer than that. But I wasn't really conscious of it until 17.

>when did you come out?
I came out to my mom last month. I've heavily implied it to my friends - not that my cross-dressing hadn't lead them to suspect. I don't want to talk about it with my dad. He'll just laugh at me.

>when did you start hrt?
I want to talk to a counselor first. Starting transition is a big decision and I can't shake the worry that I'm insane, confused, or just stupid.

>have you had any surgeries? (if so, when?)
Obviously no. I definitely want FFS, though. Probably SRS, too.

I will never ever pass

Feels bad man. I live in Mississippi, so I can't date without the risk of being beaten to death.

>Could you tell the story of how you came out?
My parents caught me crossdressing and asked if I wanted to be a girl. I said yes and they found me a gender therapist.

I'm lucky to have great parents. They've been extremely supportive.

Ah, so it was luck. I'm >>5541929 and >>5541938. I was too afraid of being caught cross-dressing, so I never did. It's ironic getting caught helped you out, in my view. Does it seem that way to you? I am not sure how my parents would have taken it had we been in your and your parents' positions, but I know now it would not have been quite as bad as I thought it would be.

Well, Mississippi must suck for sure. I wish you more good luck, so you can move to a better state and live in peace.

Around 12 I think

>when did you come out?
Accidentally came out to my mom when I was having an emotional break down 3rd year of high school. 30 seconds later I tried to take it all back by telling her "oh it's probably just a phase mum nbd forget about everything i just said" Poor her, she was so confused. Biggest regret though, I wonder where I'd be now if I didn't chicken out.

How much did the voice surgery cost you?
>>
>>5544041
$7400 + $400 botox injection due to vocal tremors, $1100 flight to South Korea, $600 for my hotel, and probably $200-300 on food. So all and all about $10,000 total.
>>
>>5544060
>vocal tremors

What is that? It sounds scary.
>>
>>5543953

>Spiro does that. If you're still getting headaches from it, try taking it right after meals.

I switched to cypro maybe two weeks ago. The reason I'm not sure about the cause of the headaches was that I was knocked out (just a random crime) nearly 4 years before my headaches started, and something occurred right before the headaches that made me remember that time. They had decreased in intensity, even while I was on spiro, so I'm not sure if it really was the reminder or that my body just developed a tolerance to spiro.

> :(

If it were just being trans, I didn't plan on killing myself. I planned on moving it out on my own and getting a dog to keep me company then picking up some outdoor hobbies. But life seldom ever leaves you just one one problem to deal with at a time.

>Getting caught definitely helped, though my parents said they suspected it before then.

My father said I caught him blindsided, but I think my mother and grandmother knew better. But who knows how long they had been suspecting even if my speculation is correct?

>I applied for graduate school at several universities on the west coast. Hoping I get accepted to one!

So you're graduating college this year? Congratulations. What's your major?

>>5544086

I'm not that anon, but I think it's something like vibrato, but without being intentional. So it's something of a defect.
>>
>>5544086
A natural shakiness to my voice when I speak. It's subtle, and lots of people have it. The botox corrects it.

It's not so much a social thing as it is a "not getting kicked out of high school" kinda thing.

I've been thinking of transitioning earlier like during the last 2-3 months of senior year, and trying to keep everything hidden from the administration I guess.

Surprisingly yes, swimingly in fact. Constant attention from straight guys and lesbians. Heck at dinner last night the owner gave me a free appetizer without me asking for it, and then some guy tried to give me a glass a wine and offered to buy me desert, but I declined cause no booze before surgery. I also mode sometimes. My friends were all surprised that I'm getting this tracheal shave since they never even noticed that I had a little Adam's apple.

as one of the only people whove posted thats not under 21... how do you feel about starting hrt as late as you did? what surgery did you have? are you generally happy? do you think you will ever look how you want to look?
basically you need to tell me everything will be okay...

Early or mid teens, maybe?

I told my dad at around 20 or so and my mom more recently, but even today I'm not really 'out' to anyone but my parents and doctors.

29.

Nope, and full time boymode until I get rid of my facial hair at least; even then I don't have much of a chance of passing given my age and 6'4" height
>do you ever think about detransitioning?
Absolutely not. I of course wish had I started earlier and beat myself up a lot about not having done so, but even still I feel better about myself now than I have since starting puberty.

>My parents caught me crossdressing and asked if I wanted to be a girl.
This is basically what early transition comes down to, but most of the time the parents will be scolding for it (as that was the suggested action from "medical professionals").

>>5542970
In general, early transition is about luck, there are only a few cases kids go out of their way to transition.

>>5543647
In cis females the average age is like 16, there are a lot of very early transitioning girls that ended up with boy hips.

>have you had any surgeries? (if so, when?)
No surgeries at all

>do you pass?
Ever since around the 7 month mark I started getting clocked less and less little by little
No issues at all anymore beside people just being surprised by my height for a chick

>do you ever think about detransitioning?
Sometimes I do, its a weird situation I'm in
I have so many opportunities and things in the works right now to be someone and do stuff I'd never have the opportunity to do if I were a guy, places to go, and people to meet, as well as I know I'm much more attractive as a chick than I was ever as a guy

However there is always that remembering how much easier life was as a guy. Sure life can be harder as a guy than a girl given dating and less opportunities. But as trans sometimes it gets frustrating figuring out your whole sexuality, where you fit on the kinsey scale etc.

It'd be hard enough to find someone that you'd get along with and find attractive that finds you attractive, as well as meet and etc. But now your entire potential pool is cut down to a much smaller puddle of people that would even consider dating you after just seeing you as a bucket list fuck or just 'interesting'.

On paper my life should be going great right now, but the crippling loneliness onset by that and the ways I've just learned to keep people out just only fuel into a slowly developing benzo addiction that I hope someone around me will be able to see and realize that I haven't been okay and help pull me out before its too late as my mother's bipolar and other mental disorders have just recently started to become prevalent in my own mind as well, and I fear some days for my stability and sanity.
>>

I started HRT late 24, 27 now. I felt shitty about starting it as late as I did but eh. I've had no surgery as of yet, but I'm gonna be getting FFS once laser/electrolysis is finally done in a few months.

I'm much more emotional, as in I cry more, but I feel I simply express myself more now because it's healthier than how I used to be... all bottled up and junk. I don't think I will ever look how I want to look, because it would take some serious prep time to look like Singularity every single day. But I'm much more content about my body than I was, even before surgery. Just the fact that testosterone isn't ravaging me anymore is a huge burden off my mind, let alone the fat redistribution and boobs. They're tiny but they're mine and the joy, anon. The joy. I lost lots of weight too, but that was most likely due to stress in the beginning. I pass most of the time I go out, but I do need a fair amount of prep time for that as of now. I assume things will be a little easier after my FFS though. I get dates just fine with either gender, considering a lot of my friends are either really chill or LGBT themselves. It helps to have cool and understanding friends. Support is vital.

You're gonna be ok anon. But transition is probably one of the hardest things I've ever done. The hardest part is starting. Be brave. Do it for you.

Either 6 or 28. Always felt more like a girl but somehow didn't know 'trans' was a thing until I was 28. Before then I suppressed it because my only knowledge was Rocky Horror and Buffalo Bill and I felt like a freak.

As a nineteen year old boy, yeah. A little more time and I should be able to do so more easily.

More like I get moments of panic that I'm still deluding myself, or that five years down the road I'll change my mind. Nothing serious or anything that hangs on for longer than a few minutes. I'm barely into it, but I like what's happening to me. I sound right, and that's bothered me for a long fucking time.

Nothing explicitly trans related, but I did have jaw surgery to fix my underbite, and I told the surgeon that I was trans so that when he did it he could get a more feminine result

Between maybe 11 and 14 I beat off to the idea of having a swimsuit model's body, and discovered transsexuals and transitioning was a thing. But I blew off thinking about it as something I would do for a few years. Didn't know you could self-med until I discovered chan boards, and took me a while to realize I could've used my debit card to start at 16. Puberty blockers weren't a thing in the states until like 07 or so at select locations.
In college I started looking at transsexual porn, seeing transition timelines
I bought a girl's fit concert tee in 07 and wore black nail polish a few times, but didn't actually order some panties bras and breast forms til after graduating at 25. I did end up ordering estrogen and spiro over the internet, but only did it for a couple weeks when I was 26 and again when I was 27 to see what would happen. I think I briefly got some skin softness and really negligible breast discharge if I squeezed my nipples. I quit because I'm a fucking virgin and wasn't ready to be sterile, possibly non-functional, or to come out. I'm hoping to be able to afford laser, sperm-banking and hrt soon and then come out and transition at that time.

Between finally getting some sexual experience, and depending on the effects of hormones, I'll decide whether it's better to be a castrated transsexual or one with a vagina.

I wouldn't say I look like a woman, but there's a vague femininity about some of my features. I'm certainly good looking, not anything like the "son I am disappoint" guy. I guess I have something like a swimmer's body without the physical training - longish arms, musculature concentrated in the legs.

I thought 18 would be fairly decent to start but looks like most people started before that even. Is 18 pretty old to start, Should I bother or will I get screwed by age now?

It varies person to person. At 18, if you're sure, I would say start NOW, LIKE RIGHT NOW!!!!!!! YOU WILL STILL GET REALLY GOOD RESULTS AT 18, BUT DON"T HESITATE!!! HONESTLY!!!!!!! START NOW!!!!!

Are you planning to have kids? Irreversible infertility will have well set in by the 2 year mark for sure.

Not thinking about kids honestly. Can't afford them and don't have the patience for them.

That's good, because semi-impotence will be an issue as well.

I really did think about it a lot before hrt but I was starting to get a receding hairline and my face was getting manlier by the day. Had to make a choice.

Misleadin question but I was sure that I was trans about 2 years ago. Have wanted to be a girl / felt like one since idk 6 years old?

>>how old were you when you discovered you're trans?
I was young, when I realized I wanted to be the opposite sex. But didn't truly know I was trans till like 16.

>>how old were you when you discovered you're trans?
A little kid, I've pretty much always known

>>when did you come out?
Started telling friends at around 12, was fully out to everyone including family by 16

>>when did you start hrt?
18, ftm so couldn't self-med, unsupportive parents meant had to wait until a legal adult

>>how long have you been on hrt?
4 years, I think, don't really keep track any more

>>have you had any surgeries? (if so, when?)
Top surgery a year and a half ago

>>do you pass?
100%, I'm stealth

>>do you ever think about detransitioning?
No, I've never even considered it, that was never an option, I'd much rather die than have to do it, and my transition is "successful" so there isn't any possible reason I would want to anyway.
