She constantly starts drama, back when I used to follow some cool blogs who occasionally dipped into Social Justice she was always starting shit and I had to see it on my dash (now I only follow science/art/recipe/fitness blogs, fuck Tumblr).
Once she said that putting a trigger warning on vagina (lololol) was misogynistic, but not putting a trigger warning on pictures of penises was making her relieve her rape.
>>3013244 few questions why is it lesbophobic for a straight woman to act femme or butch? if straight women aren't allowed to act feminine or masculine then how should they act? what's the difference between butch and dyke? do lesbians really need another word to describe their pain?
>>3013315 I don't know about asexuals but in my experience I've had a lot of straight guys irritate me because they want to join in on whatever sexual thing I'm doing with my gf, and then get mad when they're not allowed to. It's as if they think they have a right to join in on any lesbian moment because obviously it won't be complete without a man in the picture.
straight women don't exist, you lesbophobic cis scum, they've just been brainwashed by the patriarchy. all women are actually lesbians who've been tricked to like penis. all women should be sexually available to lesbians, but that isn't rapey because lesbians can't be oppressive tee hee
Ok, I thought it was dumb at first but that actually makes sense. I've had lesbian friends who've met men who think they can "turn them straight" or w/e, and I know I'd be pissed if a woman said to me that she could "turn me straight" after finding out I'm gay.
I really wish we had a board to bitch about Tumblr, I fucking love these threads.
Also unlike on Dumblr I actually learn shit, like the lesbian above who explained why "sexually available to men" applied to lesbians, all idiots on Fuckblr do is screech and whinge, /lgbt/ has made me way more sympathetic to women and trans people than Tumblr ever did.
>>3013374 >why isn't political gayness a thing? it is. attend a pride parades >My theory is that men who hate women also hate gays /pol/ only pretends to hate us to keep up appearances with the other boards >but women who hate men usually aren't homophobic (or they might hate male gays but not lesbians) every woman i've met that hate men hate gays that aren't flamers. they think "straight acting" means you're actually straight but pretend to be gay or you're gay but you hate it.
>>3013420 Pretty much. But lesbians face different problems than gay men. I'm not saying we're special or deserve more attention than gay men, but there is definitely a difference in the way straight men and woman treat lesbians and gay men. Yeah, there are some yaoi fangirls who sexualize gay men, but the average girl wouldn't go up to a gay couple and ask if she could have a threesome with them. Similarly, I'm sure lesbians have been beaten up and bullied for being a lesbian/being too masculine, but most lesbians don't get physically harassed or ostracized for wearing guys clothing or liking women.
I agree, there is differences in the homophobia that gay men face and that lesbians face, as well as similarities.
BUT, there is also differences in the racism that black men face and that black women face, but they don't go by different words.
I guess lesbophobia makes sense to be specific that you're talking about lesbians, but idk, part of me thinks it just comes from Tumblrs "everything is worse when it happens to women/men are never oppressed even when they're gay/trans/disabled/poor" mentality.
Also, what about bisexuals, how do they fit into this picture? Do bisexuals count as "non-lesbians", coz technically they aren't lesbians but two bi women in a relationship might experience homophobia/lesbophobia?
>>3013470 So bisexuals win the oppression olympics?
Honestly, not trying to be rude: I know bisexuals get shit from people for being bisexual, but it's mostly mean words, like being told they're faking it, they're sluts, etc.
Actual oppression, that is the deny of legal rights, being harrassed, being at risk for violence and unemployment that bisexuals face is because of homophobia - it's because they're attracted to the same sex, not both sexes, that they're denied legal rights.
That's my opinion on it, but I'm willing to change my mind if someone offers a good argument? And yeah, I know I did use the word "oppression", but don't get all "go back to Tumblr u SJW".
>>3013485 The biphobia they experience is the insults plus the fact that a lot of gay/lesbian people refuse to date them. Then there's the whole "bi-erasure" thing. I'm not bi so I'm not sure, maybe an actual bisexual can answer.
>>3013485 Well, when in same-sex relationship we get the same treatment as the rest of lg. I'd say the whole "not being able to be really out and constantly having to prove your bisexuality" is a thing, but I wouldn't call it "oppression". I wouldn't even call it a "big deal".
>>3013492 Ok, insults suck, but people not wanting to date you FOR ANY REASON isn't wrong. I know I've been rejected in the past purely because I come from a poor background and have medical issues, but it was their right.
>>3013468 That anon wasn't saying gay women don't experience homophobia, he was saying they're trying to make lesbophobia into a thing when homophobia is already a good enough term. So they're trying to make it about them and only them rather than just using the goddamn term.
Seems accurate. Lesbians are often portrayed as a male fantasy. I really doubt guys would be into real-life lesbians.
Most of the violent incidents directed at lesbians that I've read about were instigated by straight guys who said lesbian relationships made them feel threatened. I'm a gay guy, so I'm not sure I understand this mindset.
>Rebecca Wight was killed on May 13, 1988 when she and her partner, Claudia Brenner, were shot by Stephen Roy Carr while hiking and camping along the Appalachian Trail. Carr later claimed that he became enraged by the couple's lesbianism when he saw them having sex.
>Roxanne Ellis and Michelle Abdill, a lesbian couple in Medford, Oregon, were murdered on December 4, 1995, by a man who said he had "no compassion" for bisexual or homosexual people. Robert Acremant was convicted and sentenced to death by lethal injection.
>Sakia Gunn, a 15-year-old lesbian, was murdered on May 11, 2003, in Newark, New Jersey. While waiting for a bus, Gunn and her friends were propositioned by two men. When the girls rejected their advances, declaring themselves to be lesbians, the men attacked them. One of the men, Richard McCullough, fatally stabbed Gunn. In exchange for his pleading guilty to several lesser crimes including aggravated manslaughter, prosecutors dropped murder charges against McCullough, who was sentenced to 20 years.
>>3013374 >Why isn't political gayness a thing? It is a thing. Haven't you been to the confession threads on this board? They're always full of guys admitting that they're not actually gay, but they only fuck men because they hate women so much.
And the fact that so many gay men on this board go on incessantly about how much they hate women makes me think that a lot of them are "political gays". Why would you hate a group of people so intensely when you don't even have to have anything to do with them?
>>3013420 It is a bit different. Homophobia against men usually involves a general disgust toward gay men and male homosexuality in general. Sometimes it involves violence.
Homophobia against lesbians usually involves straight men thinking that they exist purely for the sake of fulfilling all their porno fantasies or thinking that they secretly crave cock. Straight women do it by thinking that lesbians only exist to act as their sexual guinea pigs or to spice up their heterosexual relationships. In certain countries, lesbophobia can even escalate to "corrective rape", when a man rapes a lesbian to "turn her straight", but it doesn't happen as much in Western countries.
That being said, even as a lesbian, I think I'd rather deal with lesbophobia than homophobia towards gay men. I may have to deal with annoying guys and their "curious" girlfriends, but at least I don't have to worry about getting the shit beat out of me.
>>3015980 >Chad Keep that shit on /r9k/. Chad doesn't exist. Chad is just robot code for any guy who is socially competent enough to interact with and have sex with women. Which is pretty much any guy who isn't a total spurg.
>>3015961 >Rebecca Wight was killed on May 13, 1988 when she and her partner, Claudia Brenner, were shot by Stephen Roy Carr while hiking and camping along the Appalachian Trail. Carr later claimed that he became enraged by the couple's lesbianism when he saw them having sex.
lel that's hilarious dude's just hiking along, sees these dykes going at it, offs them in disgust, not even pre-meditated.
Makes being "sexualized" seem nifty by comparison.
>>3013244 I get the first three points but the fourth is weird to me since I've never seen a straight butch/dyke girl, femme is practically everywhere though seriously annoying. Fifth is pretty much spot on since it sounds like a hot fantasy until you incorporate it into reality and realize that not all lesbians aren't super model / porn grade, not to mention the blatant disregard for some to request sex since they can't understand what gay means. I'd be hard press to find a straight guy who out right hates lesbians because they're lesbians and not because he couldn't have his threesome or his "hero" penis to cure her of her gay illness.
>>3013264 You didn't get the memo? I mean what else are women for, it's not like they're human beings like men, that's why we have PuAs trying to outsmart the clever sex toy ploys!
>>3017469 > *Get's hit on" Sorry anon, I'm gay >Tries for a week "Anon did you not hear? I'm a lesbian, find someone else" >OMG ANONETTE YOU'RE OPPRESSING ME WITH YOUR CHOICES! Please tell me you're joking, because lesbians do have their own problems outside of gay males problems. I'm not sure if it warrants it's own specific label of homophobia but it's homophobia exhibited and experienced by and for lesbians. >>3017481 I didn't say it was exclusive to any group, I probably messed up the phrasing but what I was saying I've never heard of straight butch or dyke girls, but I've heard of straight femme girls. Inversely I've heard all three applying to lesbians, that's why it was weird there was a problem over what OP pic was saying.
>OMG ANONETTE YOU'RE OPPRESSING ME WITH YOUR CHOICES!
Don't be ridiculous.
Your 'own problems' are the problems 99% of women face.
And when I said 'trying again' I didn't mean with the same person.
Life is trial and error. To assume that it's anything more when someone hits on you without knowing you're gay is at best, oversensitive on your part and at worst, arrogant. If they don't get the message after that, they're a thick cunt, not a representation of everyone with a dick ever.
But then you'd have a lot less ground to stand on if all straight men weren't idiots for whom lesbianism was the ultimate aphrodisiac, right.
>>3017497 It's one thing if you're a straight woman and it's another thing if you're a gay woman, the same rule applies to straight and gay men, ignoring that unspoken rule doesn't do justice to either side. You're going about from the angle that there are people eager to explode onto an unsuspecting person because of something they've read on the internet. I'm guessing the social environment for you is more accommodating of gays and lesbians whereas where I am, I've known lesbians who were corrective raped, hassled and some who died because they didn't fulfill some stupid harem fantasy a guy thought up. I've never assumed that every male is in some evil ploy against women but I did mention that it does exists enough to warrant attention. Not everything a person says is an agenda anon, there are scumbags and there are gentlemen, unfortunately scumbags are in higher volume and greater in ferocity. P.S gay women are hated too like gay males depending where you live.
