I'm Bi-sexual and I completely disagree with the "Born-gay" notion. It makes no logical sense you will say how come people continue to be gay yet all the shit they suffer, ask any martyr of the christian faith the same thing because they believe whole heartily in their decision and convictions, I would say it's rather a choice just like choosing a religion it's just whatever peeks your fancy and you like or prefer defiantly not born that way.

Interested in what other have to say.

of course biscum would say that.

I don't think it's a choice and I don't think people are born gay. I think there might be some biological component, but mostly I think it's decided in childhood. I definitely don't think born this way is a good argument though, as it puts focus on this idea that no one honestly knows whether it's true, instead of that being gay isn't harmful and has no reason to be persecuted.

Personally I believe that pleasure only exists to help one cope with pain, and that everything we like is just a consequence of us using that as a means to cope. According to this viewpoint, people who are professedly gay despite being such not being beneficial to what it is they want to accomplish in reality are merely ignorant of how they can fetishize the opposite gender. I think anyone can be turned on by anything with the right outlook, and "personality" when not defined by irrationality is just subjection + knowledge/ pain.

You've clearly never researched this subject. You can tell the sexuality of somebody by looking at their brain.
>>
biscum real cool.
Apparently I can't change the way I am thanks guys. D:
>>
>>2928214
But what's you point? Not to be offensive but I don't really understand if that's sarcasm or not, or what it's even referring to.

There's no need in a second thread.

>>
>>2928231
It just doesn't make sense that you're born one way when it's obviously a preference.
There's obviously a choice somewhere along the line, just like when you decide I'm not going to eat this and this. It's the same deal.

New York.

Why is your clock backwards? Are you from some alternate dimension where clocks are arranged in reverse? TELL ME YOU FAGGOT! I want to go to your reverse clock faggotry dimension!
>what he flipped it before posting?
>LIES!
>>
>>2928261
Ah Ok I thought you looked like someone I knew
>>
>>2928265
what the fuck are you talking about, it's backwards because I took a picture with my webcam. Like looking in a mirror fool.
>>
>>2928252
...What? You can choose not to engage in sex with your preferred gender, but you can't decide to stop being attracted to that gender and start being attracted to the other.
>>
>>2928277
Yeah right. What makes more sense, you flipping your pic around due to it being from a webcam OR you being from another dimension and asking stuff on 4chomp?

I REST MY CASE! Now take me to your land.
>>
>>2928288
You absolutely can.
>>
>>2928288
>you can't decide to stop being attracted to that gender and start being attracted to the other.

I disagree...
>>
>>2928299
Ok come to new york.
>>
You can indefinitely choose who you are attracted too and who you sleep with. Not that the two are connected but it all starts by trying.
You can change anything.
>>
>>2928315
Yeah... no. I don't want to get murdered. NYC is like law and order SVU right?
>>
>>2928330
>indefinitely

People tolerate your saying the word "irregardless" but that doesn't work with that word.
>>
>>2928338
Not at all hahaha. Nothing is like what TV portrays it.
Ny is pretty chill just don't go to the ghetto if you don't know what you're doing like anywhere else.

>>2928310
Do you have any scientific evidence supporting this? If what you're saying is true then there should be a lot of it.
>>
>>2928361
No I don't.
But can you explain the supposed born gays who become straight? Seen it first hand my self, people living 20+ years as gay then becoming straight dropping all actions and never returning to it. Renouncing it completely. Prove that wrong.
>>
>>2928355

"Indefinitely" seems like an odd word to use there. I suppose it is grammatically correct to use that word there, but I hope you see what I thought you were doing there.
>>
>>2928385
Just what I wanted to use, I know what you mean though, it has a valid meaning and my point was such.
>>
>>2928252
Well I think of sexuality like other tastes, sometimes literally. Take pizza for example. There might be some biological thing that makes my mind enjoy the taste of pizza, likewise it might be my experiences of pizza and the various ingredients of pizza that make me like pizza. I'd say it's probably some combination of both. Either way, I didn't really choose my enjoyment of pizza, it just ended up happening, and I can't easily just choose to like pizza or not right now even if it happens to change over my lifetime.

I can't 'prove that wrong' any more than you can prove wrong that I have a friend who one day turned into a platypus. After living 20+ years as human, dropping all actions and never returning to it. Renouncing it completely.
This is not evidence.

If I had to guess I would say your friend is still homosexual, assuming they were to begin with.
>>
>>2928033
it mazes me how people appear unable to think outside the boundaries the public's opinion dialogue set for them.

it looks like it's either a political choice or you are born that way and you can't change it.

as far as i know and i am concerned it's neither of those 2:

there is a link between feminine traits in men and homosexuality. it's just a correlation and not a 100% thing.
science found out that estrogen levels in the womb influence test levels during growth, and indirectly, when combined with my first observation, homosexuality.
genes *influence* everything in our life ofc, but set more or less nothing in stone aside from some body fatures.

some people are definitely born to be that way.
but guess what!?
it's time for you to feel like a special snowflake now, because some people were just not born completely that way. they just had tendencies.
everyone had it different.

the human mind is a jewel of complexity and no one in our history was able to completely understand it.
and yet, if you delve deep into some obscure forum rarely posted around here, you will learn that some people menaged to cheat our brain and create alternate consciences and permanent illusions.
the flexibility of our brain and our psyche is a wonder, full of subtle complexities.

i am not gonna buy " homosexuality is hardwired in our brain from birth and can't be changed".
sounds snake-oil-tier stupid: something as trivial as " which piece of meat you would like to fuck more" can't be a constant in our ever-evolving mind.

even hormone levels, more objective and stable, vary depending on food, climate and mood.
they can definitely influence our sex life and our aggressivity/domanice/passivity.
but we all heard of submissive, feminine straight guys and macho gays, so?

everything influenced us, and what actually *determined* our sexuality is different for everyone. but only few got to deliberately choose it.
