Hi, so last year i just finished my bachelor of science as well as started hrt, and this year I am doing and extra year of research for honors (I’m in Aus). But the problem is now I can’t be fucked doing anything, uni is no longer fun, I just want to spend my time transitioning. I feel stuck, and it’s the worst kind of depression. Being a poor student sucks ass, if I quit uni and work fulltime at minimum wage I could earn enough to pay for hair removal and surgeries faster than if I stay at uni for a year. Also I would be able to buy cute clothes and cute shit.
Thing is though, I have always wanted to be a scientist. I have a degree now, but if I complete honors I can go into a phd straight after. I used to want to do research and work in a lab, and be called Dr.. But now all I want is to fix my dysphoria, and become as physically female as possible.
Idk what to do, would I regret dropping out? Or would I regret waiting on surgical transition more? I really want money, and uni is such a massive drain on my brain, I’ve managed not to cut myself by hitting my head instead
