Admittedly, sometimes I still do expect that an employee will grab my bag as I'm boarding a train or coach bus, or a door will be held open for me, or a seat will be offered to me, or I'll be told to go first, or some dude at the bar will buy me a drink, or some such day to day courtesy.
I've never been feminine but I am small and over time I looked less like a middle schooler boy and more like a tomboy female, therefore, those kinds of occurrences increased, and I admittedly became used to it. Additionally such things didn't bother me because I convinced myself to think I was being perceived as a VIP or boss, rather than some helpless tiny girl.
For several years, no one's expected me to handle stuff on my own (speaking of job tasks and life skills now) that doing it with no one shadowing me or rehearsing what I need to do seems almost daunting in a way. I have to take care of it without mistakes or questions and it's really like "wow why couldn't it always be like this" because that's what I've always wanted but now I'm just not used to it.
I guess in that way, I'm struggling to let go of female privilege, if such a thing really does exist.

A panel of 14 grand justices ruled that the definition of marriage as a union between a man and a woman in Taiwan's civil law violates constitutional guarantees of equal protection.
"If relevant laws are not amended or enacted within the said two years, two persons of the same sex who intend to create the said permanent union shall be allowed to have their marriage registration effectuated at the authorities in charge of household registration, by submitting a written document signed by two or more witnesses in accordance with the said Marriage Chapter," the Constitutional Court said in a press release on the panel's ruling.
The decision is binding, so a ruling... would pave the way for same-sex unions to be legalised.
Taiwan is one of the region's most progressive societies when it comes to gay rights, hosting a gay pride parade which draws tens of thousands every year.
