I'm trying to get a good rig going for a Glock 19 + mags, and AR mag storage.
How do I into tacticool?
Also, is pic related any good?
this any good?
can i wear a belt with it for my sidearm?
The lowest acceptable tier is to buy a USGI FLC. You can get them with a load of pouches for cheap on eBay. Colors in woodland, tan, and UCP (dyable to flat colors for like $10).
shit's gonna fall apart, even airsofters don't like that brand.
Check this out.
I used to use a velocity systems operator belt which was simple and effective.
naw, buy a tactical tailor, LBT, Beez chest rig if oyu want something simpler and effective
How dare you badmouth condor.
I have a condor rig that I never used stash inside my closet and it holds up just fine.
Y-y-you're just wasting your money! >muh sealz!!1
Belt rigs are gay. If it looks gay, it is gay. Everything you need can go either on a plate carrier or a chest rig.
Belt rigs are complicating something that is supposed to be stupid simple.
Battle belt > anything on the chest
When you have things on a chest rig or plate carrier the weight is distributed across your shoulders, causing compression on the spine over long periods of time. Though you can't carry much on a battle belt or riggers belt, so most like to split it up.
If you're going to get body armor plates, get a plate carrier, if not, some kind of chest rig or battle/riggers belt or both.
uhh that one was a SKD PIG plate carrier with HSGI Tacos across the front and on the belt which was the Velocity systems operator belt with a CTOMS riggers belt inside.
on the belt besides the TACOS were a CTOMS dump pouch, CTOMS slimline, and otghex nocturnal sidewinder for the Springfield Armory Operator.
I got an SKD UCR vest for very cheap just because it was black (inb4 das racist). If you're willing to get oddly colored gear, demo deals by reputable brands will get you good, but cheap gear.
The UCR is set up to hold 6 AR mags, medical kit, two pistol mags, multitool, and flashlight. I put a pistol on a belt mounted duty drop (*not dropleg*). The whole set up is fairly non bulky and cheap.
Camelbak MULE supplies water and acts as a good little daypack (I used it extensively on deployment, and it's great as a missions essential or 1/2 day pack).
Plate carrier optional underneath or snapped directly to the UCR.
We've been subtly had...
Condor is alright, its worth what it costs but that ain't saying much. I have their laser cut chest rig and can tell you if I actually put heavy pouches on it it would at the very least stretch it out, if not eventually rip, which is fine because I didn't plan on putting stuff on it unless it was small (medical, multitool, etc). My heavy shit goes on the belt, as weight distributes well across the hips rather than the shoulders. My kit already included a heavy pack so I don't want to add anything else.
Also for pouches and holsters, taco pouches and kydex are popular. I'd recommend a retention holster.
Slight thread hijack but it might help OP too.
I've already got my PC and BB, now all I need is pouches. I like the taco mag pouches but are there any similar options where they have some sort of strap over the top to hold them in better? Not even just for retention, but to cover up those sinister corners on steel AK mags that might end up digging into my side.
Also what are some good options for small medical pouches? Then flashlights, I have this one I use for duty that a absolutely fucking love (but its not molle compatible). It has an open top and rotates so you can use the flashlight hands free on your hip, meaning it would be a perfect backup if your weapon light fails. Anything like this but molle compatible?
Looking for a cheap, rugged, simple chest rig for AR mags
And considering I'd rather not pay one of you faggots for my spot on the no-fly list, /k/ommandostore is out of the question
Being "tactical" in appearance only attracts attention in my eyes. But if you want to anyway, to scratch that itch a lot of us have, my recommendation it to just get a Molle/Load Bearing Vest. This way you can put whatever you want on it, adjust it's size to fit over a plate carrier or soft body armor, or even over layers of clothing. You can find good quality ones for cheap on ebay too, you could buy one for different climates to match camouflage even.
Mostly because they've poured thousands of dollaryroos into one firearm and even more into ammunition.
I could see hunting as an argument depending on their climate. Deer can be taken with proper shot placement. Plus most people wouldn't have plate carriers, and its a fairly common cartridge that can be shared with others.
I myself am more of a 7.62x39 guy, but that's because I literally am a filthy slav.
>Wanting to remain on the fly list
Chicom types 56 chest rig is operator approved.
Holds up to 6 mags
just get some ranger plates for your mags and your good.
What's the closest resembling I could get to pic related?
here you go senpai
Crazy how in 2010 I was issued stuff that was miles better than everything in that picture, but that the dude using the stuff in that picture almost certainly operated way harder.
Good gear is good, but the end user determines how effective it is.
found one from Florida
These really that common for tier 1's? Why would they opt for this unamerican shit when I'm sure they get issued rigs that are superior by multiple generations?
Are they really that comfy? Even with a ruck/armor?
Is it some Tom Cruise black magic?
Well 2010 is more recent than that pic. Also JTF2 had to make due with a lot of gear that was essentially behind the curve of their American peers.
those assault vests are pretty terrible.
Do you guys actually find these belts and PCs comfortable? I have one of these >>28921343 that I really don't like simply because it doesn't sit well. That being said, I've had it for years, no complaints as to quality, but as I said, mine's probably 7-8 years old.
2mags fit per cell
the limit is your imagination
stage right is an IFAK
stage left is my radio flashlight
gun maintenance kit batteries and a compass.
Its only 29,95usd. how did i not know about this.
Can you post a link to make sure i am on the right path
made some oc
also, a case for Magpul ranger plates.
ok so I've got one of those and i took pics.
i dumped the cross draw holster it was dumb and inaccessible when prone. replaced it with more mag space.
the utility pouch on the upper right sholder gets in the way with some guns. works well for m4 style le stocks but for some reason gets caught on my ak.
these "pistol mag pouches" are useless, won't hold 1911 mags or m9 mags or xd mags. complete shit.
the radio pouch is useless i plan on removing it.
the belt pistol mag pouches however are fantastic, will hold everything and are adjustable. i added a vn 3mag pouch to the belt. with this i can carry 15 30rnd ar mags or 6ak mags and use the vn pouch for utility.
the drop leg i like a lot but they are not for everybody. with the dropleg ive got 3+1 pistol mags which i think is just about right.
the butpack i fill with pure 100% uncut Colombian cocaine and a big black dilldo. so i can operate like an opr8tr.
the new ones have mollie comparable backs, i bought this before that was popular.
has pouch inside for a hydration bladder, will fit 3ltr but i don't use one.
overall its good for the $35 i paid for it. good for drills or to wear during sex. feels less fat then my plate carrier and desu i find it a bit more utilitarian.
i should have got it in OD or DE though.
ar15 PMags too
but I like the usgi for how flush it is
essentiall recommendint an m1956 web gear rig
suppose, but if you wanna use something modern thats the route to go.
You're just seeing the foam padding which has aided shapes. The idea of padded shoulders on vests is a very 1990s thing which came and went by the mid-2000s everywhere except low tier vests.
yeah, in my area theres little tan, more dark browns and earth browns. MC tropic works well in my area
DPM is perfect for those browns and greens.
Unfortunately my only camo right now is DPM and USMC digicam.
>warning airshit content incoming
not me at all, just product of a google search, but it does show Michigan woods and multicam working well together.
Nope. Kinda shitty. Tag gladiator rip off too
Battle belt for sure, or a blue force gear 10 speed chest rig. Just holds 4 mags and a little bit off molle for a medical kit and pistol mags. Perfect little size too.
Belt systems precede chest rig systems. Some people prefer the weight on your hips, and some people like me see belts as a place to hold 2 extra magazines and wear a dump pouch.
The retention is absolutely great and doesn't need help. First Spear makes a retention magazines with a bungee, but its even more expensive and its ar15 only
Almost fell for it
Bfg 10 speed, hsgi ao micro, sadf m83, chinkcum type whatever.
Black plate carrier, two black double mag pouches, and an admin pouch pushed to one side next to a flashbang pouch
It's a weird shitty setup I'd atleast modify by using the real estate in the center of the carrier and moving that admin pouch to center.
I know that ceremic is better, but if you HAD to have steel plates for your plate carrier which would you use and why? AR500? AR680? What brand? Build up base coat yes or no?
I would just not wear armor. Not wearing armor has more benefits that appeal to me over wearing steel instead of ceramic. If I can't have ceramic, I'd just not have armor. If you can't get the right Defense, get mobile, get light.
My thing is that I am not worried about getting shot by anything over level 3, not am I worried about having to ruck miles and miles, so for me, who's stuff is just going to sit in the closet unless needed or I'm practicing, Steel armor just makes sense.
