Let's be serious for a minute.
How many former SF/Force Recon/SEAL/Rangers live in a sub $50,000 bracket after they leave the military?
Pic related was supposedly a former SF guy living in crack houses. I doubt the military would leave a member of SOF in that bad a shape.

U.S. Army Special Forces
Broke as fuck
Became one of the most prolific bank robbers in existence.
The military chews up and spits out whomever, wherever, and no matter what they did for it besides high ranking officials, regardless of their SOF operator operator abilities.
The COMMUNITIES they come from will usually offer support, but the military at large doesn't care if sgt jackson was a fucking war hero (unless he got the MOA, which he didn''t because operator operator black ops) or if sgt jackson was a boot supply quartermaster.
When you get out, they try to do their best to keep your benefits from you (disability, medical care for problems they caused, commisary benefits etc etc) while you fight to keep them because you deserve them.
I imagine being sufficiently fucked up from the stuff some of the guys have seen makes adjusting to life, making it to your appointments, paying rent on time etc. etc. difficult.
SOF guys at large have a very great constitution and obviously have extreme willpower and a desire to succeed, so they are LESS likely to become homeless. (no homeless guy talking about Granada on the street was actually there cappin kids and burning dindus, real SOF people are smarter than to advertise that.)
It's possible though highly unlikely.
Most guys in sof already have college degrees prior to joining. I remember reading a piece about how many members of Army SF have masters.
No, they don't have degrees already or they would have gone operator officer for the 20+k a year premium in pay. I've known only 2 people who were retarded enough to enlist although they had bachelor's because the recruiter convinced them it's the only way to get "respect from the men"
>All of my keks
When I was at DLI one of my classmates was an Army Specialist with an actual law degree. As in 8 years of higher education.
I also worked with an airman who had some sort of veteranarian or vet tech 4-year degree but apparently they didn't want that degree for officers or something.
Deadpool film got it right
>former SF guy
>dating/marrying a fucking stripper
>shit health care
>broke as fuck
>living in a crack house
>his job is extremely unstable now that he's out
>thinks his sarcasm and wit will get him through life
Perfect depiction. All that was missing is the alcohol/pain med addiction.
>You'd be surprised how little the military cares for people after they separate
How long are they expected to baby full grown adults that had years to prepare for the private sector?
There's tradeoffs though
Enlisted you get to fuck off and barely do work while you're E1 - E4 and sometimes even E5
From the start as a fresh butterbar you have to open your ass to working 12 hours a day while getting no respect from anyone
Wasn't that tranny SEAL living in a trailer park?
Isn't pic related (Osama's shooter) doing odd jobs and speaker events due to a lack of money?
Enlisted personnel are embarrassing.
>two people talk about how they knew 2 people with degrees, one was non-eligible for getting a commission
Oh, I guess everyone who joins SOF is a doctor, nevermind I'm wrong.
SO that's what, like 5.5 people we collectively knew over the thousands we met while we served who were dumb enough not to get a commission?
Depends on your job. I never did a whole lot of fucking off e1-e4 and it certainly didn't let me fuck off when I made e5 and less when I made e6.
How would I know any of this anyway right? I only have tapes with 3 different camo patterns, and I wasn't a fucking MP lol.
>I never did a whole lot of fucking off e1-e4
Suck for you, most of my time spent as junior enlisted was being put of a detail about every week so I spent time not working and just bullshitting with other people on the detail
He robbed banks while
>wearing a horror mask
>wore overly baggy clothes to disguise his build
>walked like a fucking crab to make it hard to determine his height
all kinds of operator
Isn't he an actor? I doubt he makes less than 50k, and I seriously doubt he's been in the military. To the best of my knowledge, Sir Christopher Lee was the only legit badass in Hollywood.
mfw i've been a section chief since i was an E2 and never got to just fuck around all day.
Women's Studies and Psychology or
Criminal Justice and English or
Sociology and Literature
All degrees are not created equal.
Psychology and Sociology are okay degrees but require Masters, PhD, and MD level qualifications to be used to their full potential. Some English/Literature programs are solidly built as alternative Pre-Law programs. Criminal Justice is too narrow to be that useful, particularly when other majors also get you into police work.
Now women's studies is just utter shit.
Can confirm. LTs get shit on from the first day they're in charge of a platoon. Then they become an XO and have a shit ton of responsibility and then they're a CO, with even more bullshit.
And no one respects an officer. It's always fake, forced respect because they're forced to salute them and shit. But no one actually respects someone that never went through basic training and ever had to do a push up or get yelled at.
>get shit on from the first day
Unlike those PVTs, am I right?
"Getting shit on" is the cost of entry in all ranks.
>It's always fake
The average person genuinely cares about SPC Jamal/Jorge/Jethro's respect. No one cares about how some junior enlisted pleb feels or what they respect.
This guy knows.
To get an 18x or an 11x option 40, having a degree or better goes a long way to getting a slot on top of the perfect MEPS ASVAB and great starting fitness.
It's a competitive world out there.
>a degree to be enlisted
At least end up an 18A (pic related) if you go that route.
>go through a gimped program in "international relations" or somesuch fake degree that colleges provide for dumb military animals in return for federal monies
The only smart people who willingly sign up are the ones who plan on using their servitude as a campaign talking point (i.e. wackjob Tom Cotton).
>wasn't that tranny seal living in a trailer park?
That's because MtF hormone therapy and surgeries are outrageously expensive and covered by almost nobody's health insurance.
The dude blew over $2,000,000 in treatment in less than 5 years.
>O'Neill doing odd jobs and speaker events
Odd jobs no, speaker events yes, and he gets payed several hundred grand per event. Dude's made nearly $10M in the last couple years speaking a couple times a month. Pretty sure if people were willing to pay YOU that kind of money you wouldn't bother with a 9-5 day job too.
He was a beer delivery man after leaving the Nacy and before he went to the press about smoking Osama.
It's strange really. Usually those who make it to that level have undergone some psych evaluation. Despite being turned socially dysfunctional from multiple rotations, those guys are usually straight as an arrow underneath it all.
I have a feeling the teams are really embarrassed about those outliers that make fools of themselves like that. At the very least they feel pity, which is a very negative.
>straight as an arrow
>serial fantasist who is unable to distinguish reality from his stories
>actually goes through with a defamation lawsuit thinking he can out-fool big-time lawyers
>politician with a federally mandated salary cap who lectures like-minded people about how to give other peoples' money to illegals, niggers, and illegal niggers
>who is paid be the Semitic Political Party
>being exceptionally well paid
Didn't think that one through too well did you?
They weren't happy and pic related was sending out very generalized messages over the NavyTimes to former SEALs because they knew Senior Chief O'Neill was going to make his announcement.
The lecture circuit is for power-brokers and power-seekers to hang out and make connections. What exactly does some SEAL jerk-off have that's worth "several hundred grand" for a few hours of small talk?
>speaking engagement donation to a foundation
>thinks hilary clinton actually talks about politics to goldman sachs et al during a speaking engagement
nigga learn about reality
for example, columbia university shunts off all the military dumbshits to the "general studies program" where academic rigor does not exist. but that still allows the Pentagon to talk about how today's soldiers smrt smart.
Yeah, you don't know how it is. Sounds like you don't have a degree either, or if you do, it's a bullshit degree and you're projecting because you can't stand the thought that people are better than you.
This guy knows.
A lot of people go through the whole college thing before considering the military. Usually Junior or Senior year they realize they want something more and decide the military is a great way to explore that. Sometimes they're going through their masters first. A lot of the guys going into the more interesting parts of the armed forces have serious degrees from serious universities.
>reading up SOCOM commander's educational background
>its all shit monkey degrees or if the degree isn't shit its from a nobody school
What the shit?
1984 Bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Prescott, Ariz.
1991 Squadron Officer School, Maxwell AFB, Ala.
1992 Master's degree in international relations, Troy State University, Ala
1995 Master's degree in national security and strategic studies, Naval War College, Newport, R.I.
1996 Master's degree in airpower art and science, School of Advanced Airpower Studies, Maxwell AFB, Ala.
Oh boy, can't wait for another military veteran cuck representative that gets fuck all done during the handful of years they'll get to stay in.
i remember the military trying to recruit someone (anyone) during on-campus engineering job fairs and getting laughed at by everyone. the ROTC kids gravitated towards the easier engineering majors like environmental engineering. you never saw them in EE, CS or applied physics.
My father worked with an ex-special forces commander whose major was in lawn care and basically lawn design.
Turned out he had 12 confirmed kills from his time as a field officer. They joked that it was all with lawn care equipment.
>tfw you will never kill a gook with a weed wacker
How's that unemployment treating you?
>Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
dunno, never been laid off. every time i left was voluntary.
also the stats are misleading, people in the field jump around from EE to CS to in-between jobs (hw/sw interfacing) all the time (and with pay hikes for being headhunted). unemployment in integrated circuit design where i work has always been in the low single digits.
beats ptsd and alcoholism, that's for sure.
I pretty much agree with this even though I was a Math/Aero double major that went the enlisted route.
Most of the ROTC kids are doing the easier majors, even within STEM. And don't get me started on all the bullshit International Relations masters.
and it was a "donation" to the clintoon foundation
so one wonders how the fuck Rob O’Neill can score "several hundred grand" per night
oh right, he can't
Air traffic controllers, after being FAA certified (Air Force ATC is FAA certified) make six figures on average. She isn't making that poor of a decision by getting certified through the Air Force while getting those veteran points.
There was a crazy bum that lived in the avacado orchard near my parrents house growing up. would see him in stores and stuff yelling and acting crazy. Then one day I'm waiting at a cross walk. He and a soccer mom are waiting as well, the lady looked disturbed that he was anywhere near and even I picked up on that. So he starts mumbling then talking about charlie in the trees then yelling at his left hand. She is trying ignore him and not lose her shit, stares straight ahead. He looks over to me and winks. Guy is just playing crazy. Talked to my dad about it and he says that the guy was a helocoptor pilot and isn't crazy just wants to live in the trees in southern California. He just acts crazy so people leave him alone. The last time i saw him was about a year be for all the trees in the avacado orchard got taken down. I bought him a cup of coffee. he said thank you, I said thank you for your service and saluted him... no I didn't. I don't think he even knew who paid for the coffee. I was gone buy the time he got to the register.
No it was the magic Navy Seals Koolaid he was drinking that got to his ego.
Yes, most SFOs are a bit fucked in the head, OCD, minor ADD/ADHD, strong sociopathic tendencies, which makes it hard to test for serious psychological issues.
But Kyle came off high riding the Seals dick in a post Afghanistan/War on terrorism America where most idiots would be happy to stroke him off.
Got to his head, was already a bit of a ticker and thought that his pumped up reputation would protect him.
Unsurprisingly it didn't.
if you cant make $50k work then you're living outside of your means. its not exactly homeless.
>not including savings and investment
>getting another job as supplemental income
