Does pop culture still cause spikes in the sales of certain guns?
Hardmode: no COD/vidya.
Dirty Harry movies caused a huge run on .44 magnum revolvers. Will Deadpool send people to buy Deagle brand Deagles?
No, I dont think it will because its very unclear what weapon he is using in the "12 rounds" scene.
In Dirty Harry he VERY specifically names the .44 magnum. In something like Counter Strike the term "Deagle" came into EXISTENCE but it didn't take long for the pedantic nature of the internet/gaming community to track down its real life inspiration, the Desert Eagle. Specifically naming a weapon might increase its sales, but Deadpool never really attaches any importance to any specific weapon he uses.
>Will Deadpool send people to buy Deagle brand Deagles?
Probably not, but only because Deadpool isn't some huge pop culture icon. Sure, he has a cult following but he's not somebody like Clint in Dirty Harry.
>Does pop culture still causes spikes in the sales of certain guns?
Yes. Case in point, after Jurassic World came out there was a spike in the sale of the gun used in the film, the Marlin Model 1895SBL. I talked to a couple FFL owners in my area, and they each said how they had several of those guns on order because people came in wanting them.
The first matrix movie and goldeneye on the n64 got me into guns. I was too little to buy firearms at the time but the matrix was the first example of good guys + guns = a good thing which made them tools and not scary objects of evil. That coupled with the just-close-enough detail of the weapons in the movies made me want to know more.
>saw this trailer in the cinema
>felt like puking from the shittiness
>everything from the deagles to the music to the shitty characterisation
It was horrible. I don't know the source material but it's some superhero faggorty so it can't be much better.
You're forgetting the great part of all the .44 Magnum revolvers being sold, which is all the limp wristed fucks taking them to Pawn Shops and flooding the market when they realized it wasn't fun to shoot.
If Deadpool makes Deagle brand Deagles cheap pawn shop guns I support this 100%.
>Marlin Model 1895SBL
I thought it looked like a bretty sexy gun tbqh
Are new Marlins any good? I've been looking at trying out a lever gun for hunting.
Literally the guy who says what the fuck ever comes to mind, has zero problem killing anyone, is a near complete loner, nobody fucking likes him, and has a complete love of blood and violence unlike any other?
Tell me again how he's an SJW Bernie supporting, narwhal loving, communist echo chamber?
Deadpool is literally what would happen if /k/ and (old)/b/ had a baby after a night of vodka induced debauchery that resulted in a hospital trip due to a lodged dragon dildo.
>Literally the guy who says what the fuck ever comes to mind, has zero problem killing anyone, is a near complete loner, nobody fucking likes him, and has a complete love of blood and violence unlike any other?
yep, that's the one
he's worshipped by redditors because lolsorandum!!! im such a nerd xDDD
Deadpool is shit and the only people who like him are retards and tumblrites/reddit
Duh. Death wish 3 saved wildey. Every time it airs people flood wildey with orders.
The model 29 was a hunting revolver that had decent sales but after dirty Harry every fickle fuck needed to own one. Hence why they're so expensive.
Apparently the market was also flooded with barely-used .44 Magnums by people who were both a) Impressionable fuckwits who bought them new because Dirty Harry and b) Limp-wristed faggots who shot them once and decided the recoil was too much
Isnt CoD the only reason why the AR15 Platform is so popular?
the only thing i dont get is why people still have such a hard on for the MP5, even if it has a successor already in the UMP.
You come off like a dumb piece of shit, because you are worried whether or not enjoying something a certain group likes will group you together with them. You dumb piece of shit.
>doesnt know the source material
So far the movie looks spot on fkr the source material. Bad jokes from an insane anti-hero.
>Yfw its rated R
>for this reason it might actually be good
>CoD made the AR popular
Nigga what?? The AR was popular long before thay movie came out. Hell it was popular prob before I was born (34). Hell the Colt AR-15 was also one of the banned by name weapons in the assault weapon ban in 93 and when it expired in 2003 it was the first rifle I bought.
I'm sure some movies caused people to go out and buy say revolvers or M1911s but I think the thought process is more along the lines that people get into guns and not just buy the super expensive thing they see on the big screen.
The biggest case ever is the one stated in this thread is Dirty Harry with the model 29(taxi driver as well too some extent) but I would say a lot of people bought a colt 1911 because of Magnum PI and I bet a lot of folks bought or atleast got interested in a LCR because of Walter White(I know I did)
Same with Beretta from Diehard, s&w 659/639 because of reservoir dogs and hi power because of Axel Foley. Also one of the first big movies too make many a deagle fags is Snatch.
I had to resist the urge for one hard after seeing a cut Chris Pratt running around shooting dinos with it. I was afraid of the quality and I'm in a bigger need of milsurp than a fungun I'll shoot only once in a while.
Just look what Cowboy Bebop did to Jericho 941 sales.
I'm pretty sure they do.
Always been a gun guy, but after SAO 2 came out, every one and their mother wanted to shoot my Tokarev, so I would have to say yes.
Just started working in a gun shop as well, so I guess when I come in and people start looking for Desert Eagles, I'll know.
Pic of my Tok
But it's true. I can literally not see cesspool appealing to anyone but middle school age boys/manchildren. All he does is yell offensive things, make pop culture references, and be self-referential. Nothing else about his story is original or interesting.
It's also easy to tell when a movies is shot when all the "funny gags" they put into the trailer are not very funny at all.
ITT old farts dont know the character deadpool and try to argue that it's reddit tier and don't know shows that the majority of people have seen.
Honestly more people have seen cowboy bebop than currently watch the news.
>nothing about his story is original or interesting
I don't think you know a god damn thing about the character... you're just basing your opinion off ryan reynolds.
Stop being a bitter old shit and try to enjoy something.
>bitter old shit
anon, he's clearly a 14 year old boy trying to be contrarian.
There's going to be a chimichanga spike, for sure.
