In Dirty Harry he VERY specifically names the .44 magnum. In something like Counter Strike the term "Deagle" came into EXISTENCE but it didn't take long for the pedantic nature of the internet/gaming community to track down its real life inspiration, the Desert Eagle. Specifically naming a weapon might increase its sales, but Deadpool never really attaches any importance to any specific weapon he uses.

The first matrix movie and goldeneye on the n64 got me into guns. I was too little to buy firearms at the time but the matrix was the first example of good guys + guns = a good thing which made them tools and not scary objects of evil. That coupled with the just-close-enough detail of the weapons in the movies made me want to know more.

I did see a .22 conversion barrel on grabagun or some other site last month, so they have those, can't imagine how many .22 could fit in a deagle mag.

I'm sure some movies caused people to go out and buy say revolvers or M1911s but I think the thought process is more along the lines that people get into guns and not just buy the super expensive thing they see on the big screen.
