saving up to buy the Glock 43

extrapolate your onions about this machine
>>
>>28873409
it shoots bullets good
>>
>>28873409
>saving up
>cost is less than $500

lol what the fuck
>>
>>28873409
My second choice for a single stack 9. The palm swell is great for shooting such a small gun.

If you're not picky like me, the M&P Shield seems like a better option. I ended up with a Walther PPS because 7 rounds standard instead of the 6 rounds the 43 offers.
>>
>>28873409
Despite having big, butchers hands it felt really well in mind. I have a 26 and wanted another 9mm Glock. Was torn between the 43 or 19, went with the 19 but damn if I wasn't close to getting the 43, liked how slim it was.
>>
Get a 26 instead. Not much bigger, more boolots, more parts.
>>
>>28873435
many people live paycheck to paycheck or are just starting out in the world. Should people with less money not own firearms. How very californian of you
>>
It feels exactly like every other glock. Which is a big plus for me.
>>
>>28873463
whoa nigger, subcompact glocks are the most uncomfortable guns you can buy
>>
>>28873435
>>28873467
Cali anon reporting in.
1. Glock 43s and 42s are 700 to 1400 here in Cali, you can only get them through PPTs and the current owners know ppl are willing to pay a hefty premium to get them. So yeah, saving up makes fucking sense.
>>
>>28873488
Incorrect. Mine fits my hand really well.
>>
>>28873503
>Glock 43s and 42s are 700 to 1400 here
Holy shit dude I'm sorry
>>
>>28873463
>Not much bigger

It's fucking fat anon

The point of a subcompact is a gun that doesn't suck to conceal, hence slimness being a primary factor

May god have mercy on your soul, anon.
>>
>>28873503
probably an easy google answer but why the hell are they so expensive in kalifornia?
>>
>>28873533
The thickness of the gun isn't that much of a factor. Plus it's 4mm difference not that big of a deal.
>>
>>28873524
yeah, tell me about it...
it's ok, 19s are still legal, just bought a new one through the blue label program for under 500 after DROS and taxes, and it comes with 3 mags...
the bad- You can only pick it up 10 days after purchase... it's day number 6
>>
>>28873554
^^^^
>>
>>28873409

very easy to conceal, accurate, I like the trigger better on my 43 than any other glock.

>>28873435

~$450 is a lot of money if you're only making about $2500 or less a month, and paying all your own bills, a good chunk of /k/ falls into that category based on an age poll here. Most /k/ommandos are 18-25.

We don't all have daddy's money to spend.

>Insane waiting periods
>Guns & ammo taxed all to hell
>All kinds of different types of arbitrary rules & regulations, mag limits, etc
>Making the whole process expensive & cumbersome, that way to skirt around the 2nd Amendment

>This is what Libs want for the rest of the country

Leave that commie hellhole now. I paid $380 for my Glock 42 just a month ago here in Florida. Since I was trading in another gun, I walked right the fuck out w it that day. No license, no CCW, no waiting, nothing.

also my brother has a shield, which I've shot alongside the glock on a handful of range trips. They're both great guns, I just like the glock more. I think the trigger break is more crisp and the gun doesn't have as much 'slop'. Not saying the shield is bad by any means, the value at the price point is excellent. Also I have trijicon hd sights on mine, which are substantially better than the shit stock glock sights.
>>
>>28873686
funny you mention Florida.
I'm actually a Florida resident but I'm currently stationed in California, so leaving is out of the question...

Damn, dude. How much are your bills?
>>
>>28873409
I put one next to a G26 at a gun show and the size difference was negligible. And since its only 8oz lighter fully loaded, i bought the 26. No regrets. Being able to use other 9mm glock mags is nice too.
>>
>>28873556
not available for civilian purchase. only way to get them is if you find one on consignment

Bought one here at my LGS for $500.00. That is tax and call in include, NIB. That is the price here in Southern Illinois. Great for the CCW I was wanting.

hijacking the thread with a question...

anyone of the glock peeps in here ever use the magpul pmags for them? any issues?
>>
>>28873409
I love it. I carry it every day. The trigger pull is heavy but crisp. That can be fixed though.
>>
Unproven design. Glock 26 has been out since 1994, carry one of those.
>>
>>28874763

Magpul is shit. They 'forgot' to make final geometry changes in the molds during their initial release and had to completely reship all the mags. Magpul is full of idiots you need to use Glock OEM mags or you deserve your mag failure when Bubba is beating your head into the concrete and the Magpul fails.
>>
My main issue with the 43 is that S&W has the M&P with a batter capacity and the same (ish) overall dimensions, like wtf was glock thinking?
>>
>>28874949
>like wtf was glock thinking?

There was no reason. Glock sells mostly the 17 and 19 more than any other models.

If they didn't release the 42 or 43, people would just buy a 26 or 27. Like they did for the past, oh, 21 years. Glock doesn't need to pander to crybabies.

They have already redesigned the 42 mag over 4 times and I have not followed to see how many times for the 43. If they fix the issues in a few decades then buy one.
>>
>>28874979

Wow I checked, it's more now. The 42 has:

2 frame versions
5 mag versions
3 slide stop versions
2 trigger housing versions

And the gun still doesn't work well.
>>
>>28874949
>like wtf was Glock thinking?

One of two things:
>doing what all the fanboys wanted them to do, i.e.: single stack
Or
>"hey, remember that design we were gonna do 20 years ago, and damn near every other manufacturer has done already? Yeah, let's do that."

A glock was my first pistol, but I think the newer designs/models are just making up lost ground for shit they didn't do in the first place.
>gen 2, no rail
>gen 3, rail, yay!
>gen 3, grip texturing a little lax
>gen 4, new texture, yay!
>no single stack
>now haz single stack

The new Vickers frame is another example of laughable shit. Wow, it's a slightly grey/blue glock frame. Ho-ly-shit.
So innovative. I'll take cerakote for 1000, Alex.
>>
>>28875143
>So innovative. I'll take cerakote for 1000, Alex.

Glock did some survey last year of 'colors you would want' which had like pink and shit. So fucking dumb. Glock frames are black because the black dye creates UV resistant properties. Any other color of plastic will be broken down easier by UV.
>>
I got a PPS for $300. They're pretty cheap and if you can find a good deal, try it out.
>>
>>28874934
1. The issue only affected people who use G17 mags in their Glock 26.
2. The fixed mags function perfectly without issue in all 9mm Glocks now.

Quit your whining.
>>
>>28873409
been carrying mine daily for like 6 months now, love it. I carry it with 2 spare mags with +2 extensions from Taran tactical, still way more comfortable to carry than my 19
>>
>>28873447
magguts gives the glock +1
>>
>>28874934

I was thinking about cheap mags for taking my g19 to the range. self defense would always be factory mags, yeah.
>>
>>28873409
Just buy a used Glock 26 and refit it. Cheaper.

OP here. Thanks for extrapolating your onions, /k/ommandos, obviously you guys don't think it's a shitty gun, which is good news. I will be renting the 43 at the range when I can to get the feel of it, not sure what to be looking for though as I am still new to firearms. I would like to conceal carry it, so I'll be looking at size.

Thanks again for your input

>live in Miami
>no idea what to do with my life
>want to gtfo asap because shooting spots suck major dick here and barely go out to the range because of it
>>
>>28873840

think about it.

monthly costs

rent for a decent place in a city: $700-1000

utilities/internet: $100

car insurance: super variable but lets go average and say $80

health insurance: $100

groceries/eating out: $300

gas: variable so $50-100

That's just shy of $1700 and all numbers are pretty low end estimates. Some people have additional expenses too.

Like I said /k/ is pretty young (18-25 mostly) so even a full time job making $15/hr is making you $2400/month before taxes. Money goes quick.

My rent alone is $1000 before any of my other expenses.
>>
>>28876155
So about $800 left over for food, gas and guns. Put the gun on a credit card and you'll have it paid off before accruing hardly any interest.
>>
>>28876273
Edit: sorry, I didn't see that you'd factored in groceries and gas. Still, that's $800 leftover to spend on whatever you want. Why aren't you buying one gun a month?
>>
>>28873409
Overpriced, under featured, and will put a nice hole in your leg because it lacks a necessary safety feature for striker fire handguns.
>>
>>28873409
>extrapolate
You mean articulate.
>>28873447
2nd the M&P shield.
>>

$500 is a lot for me. Considering $500 is only 2 of my textbooks every semester.

Wrong. They shoot and handle like the big ones.

>>

I don't know about that.
Im sure the shotgun itself comes with safety warnings.
>>28880493
Yeah, I can do that.
>>
>>28880045
The PPS doesn't cost that much anymore. Walther knew they fucked up with the price and lowered it.
