Anyone else get a M1 Carbine from CMP yet?
I went to the CMP store and got this last Thursday.
>>
Here's another pic, it's a service grade.
>>
>>28856541
No,
Because I'm just not interested I'm the m1 carbine.
But I did send off the paperwork for a cmp garand yesterday.

They had a bunch of Garands at the store, though no service grades.
>>
I didn't, but my father did, and I inherited it from him.
It's nice, too, he got a National Match M1 with a carefully-spec'd barrel and glass bedding (but if it has DCM papers, I can't find them anywhere.)
>>
>>28856678
Cool, back in the day CMP didn't pick out the good stuff to sell for a higher price, I know a guy who got a M1C with all accessories back in the early 80's for the standard price.
>>
>>28856541
how early did you have top show up
>>
>>28857257
I think everyone who was there by 0500 got one, they only had 35 to sell at the store.
>>
By the time they opened a 0800 there were probably over 100 folks in line. CMP counted off the first 35 and let them in first.

I sent a mail order. I fucked up and thought a regular envelope with a stamp would get it in.

They got 23 tubs of USPS Express mail on the first day the Carbine order window opened. RIP
>>
What day did you mail it?

Must be Anniston. Perry has a bathroom right inside door.
>>
>>28856541
How long do you think the CMP is gonna have a decent supply of Garands? Rumor is that the carbines are running out.
>>
>>28858029
Not that long. Head of the CMP stated at current rates, they will be gone by 2017, and they don't expect any more.
>>
>>28857981
I went to Anniston. They had a porta john outside for us before they opened.
>>
Some of these carbines were returns from overseas so there could be irregular numbers coming back from time to time, considering how many countries we gave them to.
>>
The first guy got there a noon the day before.
>>
Does the /k/ shooting group still exist for purchasing cmp guns? Anyone got the info? Looking to get a garand before they are gone.
>>
>>28860025
no
>>
>>28860025
Garand collectors association is like $25/year
>>
>>28856541
I sent in my order, but I haven't heard back, emailed them to ask, no reply yet.

Not exactly customer service friendly.

I'll wait.
>>
So if a person goes to a CMP store they must be members of a CMP approved org. and prove some type of firearm activity? Examples?
>>
>>28860489
I meant to gun one of their guns.
>>
>>28860502
BUY!!!!
>>
>>28860381
Its faggots like you that are backing up the order process.
>>
>>28862812
Fuck off, kindly. Its shitty customer service that they can't send an email out saying 'hey, got your order'.

Since they haven't replied, nothing in the order process is 'backed up'.
>>
>>28862967
5000 orders on february 1st. 1000 carbines on hand. maybe 4 people working through opening each fucking envelope.

You're right, kiddo, you deserve to know exactly what place your order is in. Hell, they should put you in in a #1 spot for the 1911 release to ease your bereavement! The nerve of the CMP!

Is this your first time or something, fuccboi?
>>
>>28863024
>1000 carbines on hand
source for this number? or is it just a hypothetical
>>
>>28863055

Mark, the head of the CMP stated they had 1000 on hand, and about 1000 more being shipped to them (Which will be used for backorder)
>>
They are illegal in New Jersey.
>>
>>28856541
Why is everyone shitting their pants over CMP Carbines? I mean, just go on Gun Broker or to a gun show.

Why is this even a big deal?
>>
>>28863210
Because you can flip them to fudds for $1.5-2.5k if you find the right buyer.
>>
>>28863210
Well, mainly because theyre cheaper, have actually been inspected, and you know that what youre getting will be certified authentic. Plus, its fun to have a CMP rifle arrive at your door without knowing much about it... its like christmas.
>>
>>28863210
because the CMP carbines are $400 less than market price
>>
>>28863024
And again, fuck off. Its basic customer service. If you can't do it, close down.
>>
>>28863272
>>28863275

Oh, I got mine for $800 so I though that you'd be getting them for around that price. Had no idea they would be that much off.
>>
>>28863399
I'm not the same guy but you can shut the fuck up. People who already have orders in are being delayed because of fit wits like you that need muh stuff now!!! Go fucking suckle your mum's tit and I seriously hope you aren't one of the 1,000 for the carbines because your ass doesn't deserve it you fuckin man child.

inb4 >hurr my customer service hurrr!!!!
>>
>>28863649
I think, just to piss you personally off, I'm going to call the CMP every hour just to check on orders.
>>
>>28863764
Good hopefully your order will be cancelled and they'll refuse to do future business with you. Win-Win in my book.
>>
>>28864172
Not going to check on my order, bub. I'll just give them some names to look for. You'll find out about your carbine sometime in 2017.
>>
>>28863024
>>28863649
>>28864172

Could you hold off on the shitposting for just one thread?
>>
>>28863399

That logic only applies when you're dealing with for profit companies.

This is not a for profit company. This is a government program providing rifles to citizens in an attempt to recoup costs while encouraging firearms ownership. It is literally the most positive thing for gun owners in the entire United States government.

Shut the fuck up.
>>
>>28864217
>>28864259
To answer the question, no he can't hold off shitposting.
>>
>>28864217
Two separate people dipshit.

>>28864206
Good thing I didn't even order a carbine then isn't it? Good luck even getting one like I said before kiddo.

>>
>>28864805

lol how bad does your carbine suck?be honest
>>
god damn it I want my cheap Garands!!!
>>
Wish they would keep us in the loop a little more. Shouldve just picked 1000 orders at random from the Monday mail pile and then sent out an SOL email to the not so lucky customers that they didn't get picked this time around instead of having up biting our nails for 3 weeks wondering if we made the cut.
>>
I ordered a CMP Garand a couple weeks before they announced the carbines. They haven't even charged me yet. :/
>>
>>28864805
>>28868665

there were 87,000 Garands and about 500,000-750,000 carbines actually. No telling how many are still actually serviceable, maybe 1/5?
>>
why are there on carbine videos online? there is like 10-12 tops on youtbe

mfw i have a service grade m1 carbine just waiting for me when my uncle dies
>>
where can i find 30 carbine on the cheap
>>
>>28863399

Jesus Christ anon, if you expect that kind of customer service then you should expect to spend a shitload more. The CMP is a nonprofit organization and heavily understaffed.

Please get tucked as others have suggested.
