The larger "Gothic" in pic related, or the "Polish" style?
pic related is the polish
also, do you think they'll be balanced properly for maces? cold steel balances its swords like crowbars so god knows what these will be like
> + looks badass
> + minimizes area of impact, which may cause more damage (think a sharp knife vs dull knife)
> + longer reach = more leverage
> + deus vult
> + looks like it has more weight at the head
> + possibly more impact force
I concur. Thank you very much for your input.
I want a melee weapon that is deadly in one skull hit, and has NO maintenance regarding sharpening, rust, etc. I also like maces cuz you dont have to worry about edge alignment when striking flesh and bone.
>not getting a Windlass Steelcrafts mace which is cheaper and likely to be just as durable
>not knowing that the Cold Steel isn't going to be a re-branded Windlass mace since Windlass makes a good portion of Cold Steel's products
>not getting Cold Steel's warhammer which is even cheaper still, just as effective, and has at least some utility value
But i can't "pop" with it. Idk how to explain.
No edge alignment to worry about. You can swing and wrap around at any angle and if you make contact its gonna ding with a mace. Warhammers have faces and profiled handles - your strikes have to be more linear.
OP is fitting to make it hammer time lads
imo get the polish if the head is solid as the other anon speculated.
If you want something usable, build one yourself. Go around your home depot, get a wooden stick, some heavy metal parts and get creative.
Maces were used centuries after the crusades.
>If a dindu in full plate breaks in you'll be able to punch right through with that
So you're saying you're a scrub and you're unwilling to git gud?
Man, they really skimped on the grooves there.
Well, that's cold steel for ya.
Yeah, let's focus on the biomechanically weak angles. That's a plan.
Whats woth the meme that CS makes crap? I have a couple of their knives and the gladius. Sharp and strong, plus inexpensive enough that I dont hesitate to hack at smething with them.
>Gladius is my innawoods machete
>I bought it to intentionally break through rough use
>It didnt break or lose edge
Next time I deploy its going with me.
This is a pertinent question the OP needs to ask themselves-
>Will this fit in my arsehole?
Because if he's not had some martial training, that's when the mace gets taken off of him and shoved in his shitter
Mainly a combination of their promo videos being cringy as all fuck, their fanyboys being stereotypical mallninja types, and their swords being clumsy bars because no distal taper.
Go with gothic one. Its longer, has more reach which yields higher momentum in your swing, coupled with focusing all that energy into small flanged edges
Polish mace might be heavier but its shorter and doesnt use flanges which spreads out the impact to greater surface area, which is less ideal
Gothic. More intimidating, more beautiful, more dangerous.
Fuck all the fags who want you to go through their LARPing fag sites. Cold Steel can make a metal club as well as anyone.
The Gothic mace looks like it has more reach, and a flanged mace is almost always deadlier than a solid mace of equal weight. Those sharp flanges on the head will concentrate the impact force to pierce plate armor or rip unarmored flesh.
The rounded Polish mace will still be devastating if you land a blow to the head, but less effective otherwise.
Call me when they make a bar mace.
While I fully agree that maces are metal as fuck, wouldn't it be more pragmatic to just buy a quality sledgehammer? It's going to be balanced to beat the fuck out of whatever you swing it at, plus you wouldn't have any trouble finding a replacement handle or head.
I'm going to make one of these instead. Relies more on shape than sharpness or weight to be effective.
This. I shit on cold steel constantly until I finally bought one of their knives. Then I STFU and bought another. Their larger products suffer from being designed as fantasy weapons for fantasy operators, as such they will never shake their reputation. But I think it's kind of funny they made themselves into a meme company.
Idk some custom dude probably
pic related, trying to decide on angle and shape ill go with
Love mine. Sucks it didn't come assembled though. And it says 'taiwan' on the otherwise cool looking hammer head
Best "Mace" coming thru
Another variant of the chinese Whip/Truncheon had sections designed to fuck up swords better.
The actual battlefield weapon. The sword is just a rank-insignia.
The Bian isn't a "sword breaker" more of an offensive police baton with a stabby option.
Its literal chinese translation is "Bar Mace."
guess this is the thread to ask it
can someone recommend a telescoping baton? was playing DX and after relying on one for so long, I've become enamored
....i should really wait for my thumbnails to load next time
bro, maces are so last millenia, if you want to be tacticool, get you a flail.
