With clearly superior handguns like these available, why would anyone carry anything but a S&W?

From the elagant, stainless steel 3913, to the modern m&p shield, Smith and Wesson clearly is the best choice.

Glocks are beyond horrible to look at, are boxy, and their fanboys are terrible.

HK is overpriced meme shit

Berettas are okay, but still m&p wanna-be

Every other brand is shit-tier meme lord central.

Range toys are one thing, but if you're looking for a firearm to ALWAYS perform, there's simply no other option.
>>
Stainless is for goddamn faggots. Snowflake "look at me!" as fuck, grow some balls.
>>
>>28737392
I wish S&W still made this type of semi-auto instead of the polymer M&P bullshit.

I'm not saying that plastic guns are ALL bad. I mean, the m&p shield does a pretty good fucking job.
But stainless just looks good.

Don't worry anon, if you sell all your glocks you could absolutely afford a nice stainless 4506

>>28737421
I know the feel. Fortunately quite a few seem to float around still

What do you think about the shield?

I'm afraid it'll only be like that for so long, with the finite supply slowly dwindling they'll go up in price.

Sheild is a good little gun.
My only complaint is my own fault: the slide stop. Normally I just drop the slide using the slide stop on my other handgats, but the Sheild slide stop is very stiff, so you have to handle the slide manually.
Not a big deal

Yep. I had a gun in the LGS offer me $1,000 on the spot for the 4506, before it was even technically mine.

Almost thinking i should buy another
>>
>>28737392
Does S&W still support the 1st-3rd gen semi-auto's? I could've sworn I read something about them pulling a Ruger and discontinuing support for the guns.

~ year ago, the 4506 was sent to S&W for repairs. After 10k rounds, extractor wore down and the recoil spring was weak.

They paid shipping both ways and fixed free of charge.
I'm sure I could dig and find the paperwork for any skeptical anons

How do you guys feel about the LCI?

I think being mandatory is fucking awful, but it's something you can feel for while Cc'ing and it's not like it gets in the way.
>>
>>28737392
I love the those old S&W DA/SA triggers, and I love the way they look, but they're not as indestructible as people claim.

I had two 3rd gens that were both purchased looking absolutely fucking brand new and had been treated very well by the original owner, but they both had extractor problems and would have constant FTEs.

Replacement parts are not easy to come by, the extractors are fitted parts that only S&W themselves will do (with a dwindling inventory, if it's not gone by now). Lots of stories of double feeds online and even from fellow /k/ommandos.

As it is, they can't be maintained well enough for me to consider them for carry, despite how much I like them. Really fun range and collector pieces though. If S&W brought the 5906, 4506, 3913, etc. back in a new "Classics" line with some minor upgrades, I would be all over that in a heartbeat.
>>
>>28737495
I genuinely never had, and never heard of the extractors being a problem. Like I said, mine wore down after thousands of rounds, but I also suspect the issues it had around then were highly related to the recoil spring as well.

And yeah, the triggers are pretty swell

>>28737500
I replaced my recoil springs, but it didn't fix the problem. The extractors were just worn down, like yours I suppose.

I'm not sure if S&W did a shitty job heat treating those parts or what, but I found photos of 3rd gens with chipped/excessively worn extractors from a number of people on various forums, I don't think they all had as lengthy a lifespan as your own's.

I'm not trying to detract from anyone's enjoyment of the guns. They're fucking awesome, but I never could trust mine and ended up selling it.
>>
>>28737488
They're not a negative feature, although I think they're piss-ugly. I would blacken the text if I got a pistol with a LCI
>>

are you trying to write a college paper or something, because I used "from the x to the y" in probably every paper i've ever written and its such a cringey trope to see now, im not even an authorfag

>>
>>28737392
If the murder/k/ube granted me one wish, I would become CEO of S&W and bring "Gen 4" 39/59 models to the market with a huge push to compete with Sig, CZ, Beretta, etc. Polymer is here to stay, but steel guns will always have a piece of the market. They're rugged, they shoot like a dream, they're sexy, and more and more people are coming back now that the novelty of Glocks has worn off. I'm willing to bet they'd be a big success all over again.

I'd also drop the Hilary Hole from the entire revolver line. Any bitching politicians will be politely informed that every gun comes with a free cable lock, and that we're making the products more structurally sound, thus safer for the user, fuck you very much.

S&W could so easily win back their glory, all they have to do is reach out and take it.
>>
>>28737500
I had an extractor wear down with mine, but 5 minutes on the bench and $5 or whatever for an extractor and was back in business.
>>
Nice frame mounted safety. Were you trying to design one that was actually ABOVE the gun, or...?

What makes the 4506 worth more than the like of the 456 or 439/459?
>>
>>28737392
1) The HUD/S&W Agreement, whereby S&W tried to throw the industry under the bus to appease gungrabbers, while massively jacking up prices http://www.thegunzone.com/rkba/sw-hud.html

2) The gutting of the firearm industry of Rochester, NH, in which they broke their word to Thompson/Center, shutdown the plant that was a major area employer, and moved all the manufacturing to their plant in Cuckachussetts. You can guess how many gun makers from NH wanted to move to Mass.

I have no desire to own a gun from an antigun company. Classic revolver? Maybe, keeps them from making any money off if it's used, and the seller doesn't then buy an S&W product.

Was wondering, can you get a Hilary hole filled in or permeantlay unlocked or something along those lines? Have a gunsmith do it or would they turn that down?
>>
>>28738133
The question they bring up is, how does it look when you permanently removed a safety device from a carry gun used in a defensive shooting? If it's just a range of, no sweat. http://ingunowners.com/forums/gunsmithing/327405-hillary-hole-how-deal-stupid-lock.html

I too carry a S&W. It looks about like this. It's the perfect carry gun for someone who isn't that into guns. The Ford Taurus of guns, if you will.

>>28737392
Enjoy your no parts availability, discontinued gun. I love me some 3913s and I would like to have a clone ASP but in this day and age it's a lot more practical to carry a Glock.
