Starting February 1st they will start selling M1 Carbines for $625/wo magazine
They have always had M1 Carbines but only enough to sell in their online auctions. I guess they found a good pile of them in the warehouse
fuck, my membership is already lapsed. And CA changed laws since last i ordered so it either has to go through an 01 ffl, or i need to get a COE and 03 ffl.
I guess i'll wait and see if i move later this year. if there are some left, i'll grab one. I already have an M1 carbine, but it's Thai police, not usgi.
I just got one for 490, mag included and with the cannon stamp on the stock. The only missing thing is the sling... on this matter, how is the surplus market for M1 carbine slings and mag pouches?
Secretary of the Army has not released them yet, no guarantee that they will be, and even if released, not all 10k a year is guaranteed either.
im personally not that interested anymore due to their projected pricing.
I see a lot of complaining about ammo shortage or i can't find X ammo anyway.
is this just people that are cheap and don't want to pay more then what they ones did in 2004?
>tfw no .22lr Shortage at all in sweden.
>Bought 5000 CCI standard for 221$
>anon being smug about buying .22
>overpaying +10cpr for .22lr
Typical. Even moreso how it's a swede of all people. You're a literal cuck and you don't even know it you idiot.
>Yesterday i saw my local Fred Meyer has one for like $435
Either that was a .22 lr or 9mm repro or really great deal that you should go back and check out. The cheapest M1 carbines in .30 carbine on the internet right now are around $630.
Starting February 1st ...
So should I fill it out now and mail it out knowing it won't get there until the 1st anyway?
Or does it need to be post marked 02/1 or later?
Should I mail out now or later?
I bought my NPM M1 for $800. Even though most of the finish is gone, the barrel might as well be new and everything else is good.
Probably going to send it to Schuff's to get it reparked.
I had a buddy who ordered a "service" grade M1917 Enfield and the thing was beat to shit, barely any rifling left in the bore and serious pitting.
Fuck the CMP, the fact they charge $600 for a beat to shit gun like that is disgusting.
I don't have anything against the CMP, they're usually pretty great, but these M1s just aren't a good deal.
For $800-1,000 it's not difficult to find a WWII/Korea M1 in pretty damn good condition, well above CMP field/service grade, on gunbroker or locally if you're patient and poke around.
Unless I just purely wanted a beater M1 that I didn't care about, these CMP guns have no real appeal to me.
I've purchased 2x from the CMP, both Garands, and both are well described by the CMP's official descriptions.
~$600-700 for a mishandled M1 with who knows what foreign stamps on it and with a questionable degree of pitting and corrosion is a poor deal, at least for me.
But you go on and enjoy your poorfag special.
Got my order in for a Service, holding my breath. In the mean time I'm going to dream of an IBM carbine.
Any ideas where these came from? I was under the impression the Korean guns went to the moderate and secular head choppers in Syria.
So whats the process for this? Anyone have the old guides?
I know that you need to be a member of a collectors club like GCA and have some paperwork that shows you know to handle guns. Is that about it? Anything else missing?
.40ish per round for Aguila some places. Not too bad for a round that you shoot occasionally. If you want to dump thousands of rounds down an M1, get an Auto Ordnance, or better yet a newer and better gun. Personally, I'll put a few boxes down it per year alongside the big sister I got from the CMP, and give it to a son someday
Commercial mags are cheap and under $20, USGIs are cheapish. Maybe $30 or $35
Neat, it even fires a straight wall pistol like cartridge that would be cheap and easy to reload for.
>look up load data
>only load data for 4 powders online due to how picky the thing is so would really need to stock up in case of a panic instead of just switching to a different powder
>stretches the shit out of cases to the point where people trim the cases every 1-2 loads after sizing
>cases need to be lubed even if you're using carbide dies
>ends up costing $.22 per round to reload plus extra PITA vs regular pistol cartridges
>new brass cased ammo starts at $.32
Well... Okay, looks like I won't be reloading for that if I do get one.
>magazines are hit and miss
>requires club membership that brings the price up another $30
>gun apparently isn't that reliable in general
Damn, I've always thought it would be cool to have an M1 carbine, but at this point why shouldn't I get an AR-15 instead? $655-$715 could buy a decent AR.
>cases need to be lubed even if you're using carbide dies
I thought lubing cases was only necessary for bottlenecked cartridges
I guess the length can result in enough friction to get the case stuck. That's lame.
>only load data for 4 powders online
SR-4756 was discontinued and N110 powder (and anything made by VihtaVuori) is hella expensive. I was actually able to find load data for 6 different powders online but 2 of those were discontinued. Brings it up to 7 different powders total or 8 if you count the N110 though.
An older Hornady manual says W296 and H110 work as well, which is what I expected since IMR 4227 is used with them in .300BLK. That also implies Lil Gun works as well.
I did a Google search and turned up a ton of people whining about these not being left handed. I just want to know if there is a left stock somewhere I haven't looked yet. Just for sling purposes. Otherwise I'll deal.
>buying a used gun
Califag here, I bet you guys all buy your guns at walmart and at pawnshops . If you guys had some real money and wanted a real m1 carbine then you would get a Fulton Armory but then again most people on this board are a bunch of poor degenerates that dont own any worthy guns if any at all
that's a pretty poor shitpost senpai, try harder
anyone connecting from ny or ca on /k/ should just be banned from posting here.
Like new yorkers or califags irl, they have to let everyone know they're such and proceed to bitch about x laws.
They're the australian shitposters of /k/ really
So can I mail in my order now or do I wait a couple days before feb? Also do these rifles have the same issue as the Garands do about modern ammo?
Damn no magazine provided with the rifle though.
Ok so why are these so expensive? The good ones were obviously auctioned off so these are just the average/lower ones. After GCA,rifle ,shipping, and finding a usgi magazine I'm knocking on $800 's door. I want one and all but that's just outrageous. Glad I slept on it
You can try, but the way the e-mail for M1 Carbines was written, seems like only repeat buyers have a real shot at them.
Still, do it. Think of the Garands an 1911s. And hell, maybe you'll get lucky an less people will go for the carbines than I think.
>tfw New Jersey
>tfw m1 carbines banned by name
NO, lube the damn cases, I've made this mistake and getting the stuck case out turned into a real goddamned project, I don't remember why exactly, but I do remember there was a lathe involved. fuck that.
Is it really that easy to make duplex rounds yourself for this caliber?
That makes me think ANY roughly straight-walled round, .357, .45, 10mm, could be duplexed.
