I either carry a Walther PPK/S in a DeSantis holster AIWB, or MP Shield in 9mm with extended mag in a kydex AIWB.

I also own a Concealment Solutions Black Mamba for the shield. Super comfortable but I prefer AIWB. Shield is always carried with a spare mag in a kydex iwb holster.

Use a 5.11 belt that I got with the black friday sale.

/CCG/ is Concealed Carry General. Anyone searching the catalog for a concealed carry thread will find it. There was nothing under concealed carry when I searched, your ID links to nothing, and this is different from EDC threads.
>>
>>28678699
How do you like the DeSantis? I'm looking at a Sof-Tuck for a quick slip on option that's a bit smaller than my hybrid IWB but the price makes me question the quality. Has yours held up well?
>>
>>28679753
Happy with the quality but I wish it goes up higher with something like a sweat guard. Being AIWB, the tang digs into me everytime I bend over.
>>
>>28680430
That's an issue with most guns and AIWB, with me anyways. Thanks for the response, ordering it now.
>>
Steyr M9A1 in a KRounds OWB thumb-break holster with a spare magazine in a belt carrier

Mexican carry (temporarily) Rugay LCP when I don't carry my Steyr until KRounds appendix holster arrives.

Not at home and I am not going to take a photo in m current location. Post some pics later on.

Eventually I'll retire both and switch to a Glock 26 and 43 (not at the same time)... Maybe.

I know it is touched upon but it is more of:

>He's a smoker
>He chose Windows

And that devolves very very quickly into 40+ shitposts. This is purely to discuss carry weapons, holsters, and belts. This, hopefully, will be an ongoing thing so we can eventually make a holster and belt guide as there is no one size fits all firearm. If you don't like the thread, that's fine. Hide it.
>>
>>28680811
You can get pretty close to a bwb with quite a few hybrid holsters for about half that cost. I'll call the local CC instructor and see what he can tell me. The man owns close to 100 pistols alone, about 1/4 Glocks.

My nigga. I swap my 40 barrel with a .357 Sig one I picked up from IGB. It may be a bit uncommon but it is very 'punchy' compared to .40. I have a 9mm barrel as well, but only use it when I was to plink and for practicing my draw with live ammo.

How's the Sig? I want to buy one and carry it but I CC a Glock 30SF right now and I already feel like it's too fat without another fraction of an inch more on top of that.

I want to make it work, they are just so fuckin thick.

But I haven't tried it. Which is why I want your 2 cents.
>>
>>28685826
I want to hate it, but there is literally nothing wrong with it.

I just don't like Glocks. How do you like the XC1 and Backup though? Does the XC1 seem to live up to Surefire's reputation for durability?
>>
>>28687547

I would say, yes, the XC1 lives up to the surefire reputation of durability. The mount is solid, the aluminum body is solid, the switches are solid, etc. That being said, the price is also surefire...so it's expensive, although I managed to pick it up at opticsplanet with a 20% discount.

I really like the backup EB1 as well. I carry the dual-switch model, light press for 15 lumens, hard press for 200 lumens. It's a solid interface for use with a pistol.

Not him but the p239 is a really nice sig to cc. If .45 is your thing, try looking at a p245, it's a single stack .45 sig that literally never gets any mention on /k/.

Not that I know anything about them but just putting it out there.
>>
>>28688320
Make note, it is decently comfortable, but there is better out there albeit for more money. It could be just on the 238, but the metal layer pops back and forth every once in a while while walking (like a warped cookie sheet). The alienskin is cool, but I think leather gives a smoother draw, even after getting the retention perfect. Once again, its not a bad holster by any means, just know that you may get a slight pop from it time to time.

I've tried a bunch of cc holsters for one of my revolvers and the AG I got for it is the most comfortable. People bag on em a lot but I've never had issues. Great holster for the money IMO.
>>
>>28690267
Nope 12 rounds. It's sufficient for what its for because if I need more than 25 rounds in a defensive scenario, I should be heading for my rifle.

>>28690401
Actually with the angle of cant on that, I can barely get 2 fingers on the grip. I also tuck it so being above the beltline is a good thing for quicker access and reholstering, at least from my practice.
>>
>>28690616
Dint get me wrong, I'm not saying it is a bad holster at all. It is a good one, a great one at that price point but, as with anything, I prefer the Old Faithful I have 2 to 1 over the AG. Again, nothing wrong with the AG holster, just not my favorite.
>>
>>28690720
I didn't mean anyone in this thread lol just the cc community in general.

There's definitely much nicer holsters out there but for my S&W Model 66 the AG is by far the most comfortable. Safariland came close though.

I've had AG holsters for several other guns (Berettas, Glocks, HKs, Kahrs) and they get outshined by basically any other I've tried. I'd still recommend them though for people on a budget or for people who want to carry a revolver bigger than a J-frame.
>>
>>28690775
Definitely. For the price point, its very very hard to even match it. God dammit Tom, why'd you have to stop making Old Faithful kits for $40!!!

My mother has one and likes it. Go 2 inches up on your waist minimum. I personally use a Wrangler 1.5" leather belt that is stiffer than hell. I know its not a true gun belt, but it works well without looking like a carry belt.
>>
>>28691512
IWB? Old Faithful Cloak Tuck $80/ quality belt between $20-$100 depending on brand and features.

Total 100-180.

OWB? Desantis Scabbard or OF High Rider (50-80). Same belt price as above.

Total 70-180

Poorfag? Aliengear holster with their belt

Total $90 including belt
>>
>>28691776
Awesome, thanks for the info.

Are Aliengear really that awful? I have it in a galco right now that was made for a sig.
>>
>>28692010
No they aren't, they just aren't quote as nice as holsters that cost more. The only real gripe I have is that the metal plate that pops when I walk when carrying at 4 o clock. At 5, the popping stops for me, but it isn't as natural of a draw. Note this is one holster and one gun and one persons opinion and experience. Either way, I'm not returning mine, money well spent as it does conceal well. The parts kit you get is a very nice touch as well.

>>
>>28692599
What are you replying to? He was referencing that minimalist clip and trigger guard holster. And as far as shilling goes, nearly everyone here has continually said it is the best at that price point and works. What's wrong with a hybrid platform anyway? You dont have to worry about leather deforming with age like with a scabbard, and you get adjustable retention so I don't see the point in the retention argument.

EDC=Every Day Carry, does not specify Concealed Carry and is inclusive of those wo Open Carry
There is a difference.

By the way, anyone use an Israeli clutch? How do they like it?
Ive been trying to find an image for reference but haven't been successful. The best way I can describe it is the pistol rests high on your pectoral muzzle up and slightly outward. The design was described to me as one used as a backup for a subcompact and to be able to be fired in holster in the situation of a hand to hand attack from behind.
I bmv never seen one in person but the description made sense to me and I've been really curious ever since.

>>28678526
My usual carry gun is a Glock 19 in a Crossbreed holster. I also have a Crossbreed for my 1911s when I take them out for a spin.
>>
>>28693094
Steel is fine, never had any experience with the Nylon ones. As for the OWB one, mine was fine too. Though I somehow managed to lose mine, Alien Gear replaced it free of charge, however I lost that one too. I think it might've been coworkers that traveled with me over the summer, not enough fucks to give to pursue it.
>>
>>28693134
More often than not I stow that shit deep in my vehicle, spare mag and all. Helps being on official and time-sensitive business, but the extra measures are more than worth it.
>>
>>28693094
I went with the steel ones as I have no experience with the nylon clips whatsoever. As for an OWB, I have a couple, not Aliengear, and they can be concealed, but I only use them on the rare occasion I have a heavy coat on and fitted dress pants. IWB may be a tad less comfortable than OWB but it is more resistant to printing from my experience. The previous sentence does not include sitting in a low car with bucket seats.

Hey man I've got a CZ 75BD on layaway, I was thinking about making it my winter carry. Know anything about Falco holsters? I'd get a CTAC like I have for my USP45C but they don't make cz75 versions. I prefer non hybrid holsters.
>>
>>28693423
I'm actually using a Falco shoulder holster, they take about a month to get to you. 3-4 weeks of making it and about three days to get it shipped to you....from Europe. Which I find pretty neat.
>>
>>28678526
Alien gear mk3?

Thinking about getting one for my glock 29.

Also, how is it compared to a smaller clip on iwb? Thinking about getting a small clip on kydex iwb for my glock 43, but the AG seems so much more substantial. Just not sure if I need all that backing for such a light gun, and I like the idea of being able to pop it in out out of my pants without much fuss.

Tldr how des the AG compare to a smaller non tuck clip on iwb for a pistol as small as your sig? >>28678526
>>
>>28693968
I prefer the hybrid holsters to the small single clip models. Adjustable cant is a big plus as is 2 contact points on the belt and adjustable retention. Mine is the 3.0 and it is a good holster for the cash. Tried a desantis, sticky, and the Sig brand holsters, all bow to the hybrid.

I will say, for deep deep concealment, I like a pocket holster inside a coat.

I really like mine. I was using a shit tier Walmart belt (top belt) with my Cloak Tuck 2.0 and you can see that it warped the fuck out of the belt. I have been using my Alien Gear gun belt (bottom belt) for a month or so now and it seems to be holding up well. I am happy with it so far.

I have carried my Cloak Tuck 2.0 for just a tad under 4000 hours. I am perfectly happy with it. It is comfortable, lightweight, and keeps my gun in place under my reasonably strenuous working conditions. If that makes me a shill, then so be it.

if my belt is on the tight side it will close probably 10% but i can still reholster it in one motion

I'm buying a Taurus Millennium G2 with tax money. This will be babby's first CW.

Does anyone have any recommendations for holster or how to carry?

Honestly never used steel, but the nylon ones are comfortable

Eww please do yourself a favor and just no, don't buy that piece of shit.

Get anything other than a Taurus, hi point, or other off brand shit. Stick with colt, sig, cz, & smith. You will do just fine.

I hole-hardedly agree, but allow me to play doubles advocate here for a moment. For all intensive purposes I think you are wrong. In an age where false morals are a diamond dozen, true virtues are a blessing in the skies. We often put our false morality on a petal stool like a bunch of pre-Madonnas, but you all seem to be taking something very valuable for granite. So I ask of you to mustard up all the strength you can because it is a doggy dog world out there. Although there is some merit to what you are saying it seems like you have a huge ship on your shoulder. In your argument you seem to throw everything in but the kids Nsync, and even though you are having a feel day with this I am here to bring you back into reality. I have a sick sense when it comes to these types of things. It is almost spooky, because I cannot turn a blonde eye to these glaring flaws in your rhetoric. I have zero taller ants when it comes to people spouting out hate in the name of moral righteousness. You just need to remember what comes around is all around, and when supply and command fails you will be the first to go. Make my words, when you get down to brass stacks it doesn't take rocket appliances to get two birds stoned at once. It's clear who makes the pants in this relationship, and sometimes you just have to swallow your prize and accept the facts. You might have to come to this conclusion through denial and error but I swear on my mother's mating name that when you put the petal to the medal you will pass with flying carpets like it’s a peach of cake.

Taurus is good and the warranty is decent.

I wouldn't get a Hi Point as my first pistol. Possibly as a truck gun.

Poor fag here. (Obviously)

Wow. Was hoping this board was less angry than all the others. Why the aggro? :-)

Just wondering why you think Taurus is such a shit make of pistol? Trying to weigh the pros and cons but have mostly heard how they're much better than they were 20 years ago. The company also seems to handle repairs efficiently.

>cite some sources

I'd be thankful for the information and opinions, /k/ommrade
