whats the best and prettiest shotgun?
i dont have a shotgun yet, and figure i just one 1 for the rest of my days so it's gotta look pretty and be a good shooter
im really diggin the remington 870 - nice wood stock and pump action, not tactic00l, reliable, american classic
but im really just starting to dwelve into the shotgun world so idk where to begin
give me some ideas :)
Get an older all steel 870 brudduh. Best shotgun is best. Mine is maybe 40% finish with scratches and chips in the wood and a thin layer of surface rust and I still get the old fudds at work lusting after it.
Freedom Group bought them out in 2011 IIRC, and Freedom Group has been known for cutting corners all over the place to maximize profits. Finishes are big deal now, they had a batch of 887s where the firing pin was sticking in the forward position so when you chambered a round, BOOM. Freedom Group also bought Bushmaster, Marlin, and several other companies.
They managed to cut the price down by like 30%, and in exchange it'll probably give out 30-40 rounds earlier than its earlier counterparts. Keep in mind were still talking 4-5000 rounds.
I think 870s are pure sex , I'm laying next to my 1950 20ga Wingmaster at the moment , and may engage it in intercourse soon. Why can't I have a wingmaster in 45-70 , that's all I want
A lot depends on your budget.
If it's around $500, then you get yourself a nice Benelli Supernova.
If it's under $1000, you can enjoy a classic Ithaca Model 37 with walnut stock and corncob pump.
If it's under $2000, the Browning Citori 725 Field offers a balanced and well-proven design. Alternatively, there's the Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon I. Most shooters will find one or the other a good fit.
If it's two thousand to five thousand dollars, may we suggest the Rizzini line of O/U and SxS shotguns? With fine engraving, and rich walnut stocks, they will satisfy your exacting needs for a sporting or field gun.
In the ten thousand dollar range, perhaps a fine Spanish best will be of interest. AyA is a standout for the timeless skill that is invested in developing such a fine piece.
For over fourty thousand, perhaps sir would be interested in one of the fine English guns? With a rich history in providing only the finest of shooting pieces for the discerning gentleman, Holland and Holland has always done its utmost to provide not only an heirloom for future generations but also a gun that, we trust, shall give you years of satisfactory service.
Purdy introduced a line of less expensive bespoke o/u shotguns in 12 and 20gauge primarily. With a 30" barrel, changeable chokes and engraving its about $45k. H&H originally stuck to rifles, but broke that gentleman's agreement awhile back
>whats the best and prettiest shotgun?
>only get one gun
Call these guys, they'll set you up right.
18" vent ribbed 12 gauge 870 magnum, Duracoated with high polished bolt and original wood.
My vote goes to the greener GP . A martini Henry in 12 gauge. I can finally reenact rorkes drift with slugs and clays
Guns and filth.
Also, my favorite aesthetic shotgun is the A10 American, because everyone has Kreighoffs.
Mossberg 500. Just as many aftermarket accessories and parts as the 870. I don't know what edition mine is since it has a golden trigger and ported barrel but everyone keeps asking what it is and where to get one. I've had this for more then 10 years and it's served me well.
They really are, ive shot afew slabs through mine and fucking adore it
I prefer something with wood and an exposed hammer. I don't think it's really safe to run anything but BP through mine though. Need to get a complimenting BP revolver and rifle.
Something from Purdey or Holland and Holland.
