Take it from someone who just ND'd into their window, always fucking check the chamber.
And no, you don't need to tell me. I already feel like a dumbass.
Get yourself a clearing bucket, son.
Everyone told me to get a clearing bucket, but I didn't listen... NDs took everything from me. Killed my wife, my dog, my cow, burned down the house...
Get a clearing bucket.
Yes, yes I do. I'm honestly just trying to calm myself the fuck down.
Shot a 9mm through my window, because I was being a faggot and forgot to clear the chamber.
I unloaded the mag, and the ammo's in it's own bag now. Last time I decide to fuck around with it at home while it's loaded.
I live in a suburban neighborhood. I have neighbors right behind my house. Dear god , I hope I didn't hit anyone. That's the second thing I thought when I heard it go off.
I don't know why. I was being an idiot. I know I'm prolly gonna get yelled at and there's gonna be some upsetness around the house.
Good god, /k/. I really hope I didn't fuck myself over.
>because I was being a faggot and forgot to clear the chamber.
You always check your firearm's condition when you pick it up before usage.
Always, you nigger.
what the fuck /k/ a dude just nd'd into his foot last week and now this. seriously guys.........
I know, I got distracted for just one second.
That could have EASILY gone a lot worse for me and I could have ended up shooting myself, another person, or my monitor or any number of things.
It's gonna suck though. I know a scolding's coming, and I'll probably feel like shit about this for a long time coming.
I'll say what i said in the other ND thread. I know for a fact you will probably never nd again in your life let this be a lesson learned. I really did enjoy that other thread though op was pretty active in it he seemed pretty ok considering shooting himself.
Everything's pretty quiet. Judging from the angle I ND'd, I don't think it hit any nearby house or anything. It was sorta up and between the house spaces.
The house behind me is in another subdivision entirely. I don't know how much trouble it would be to go out there in the middle of the morning but something tells me doing that would prbably be the best course of action.
I almost died because of somebody's ND so needless to say I take firearm safety very seriously. You're seriously lucky that as far as you know so far nobody got hurt and that the police aren't banging on your door right now.
It might take you a while to feel comfortable again, but don't be afraid to keep a loaded gun. Just don't be a fucking retard in the future.
Well, I wouldn't go around alerting everyone that you just ND'd...
Just try figuring out where the bullet went and own up to it if you damaged or hurt someone. And hopefully you will learn from it not to fuck around with a loaded gun.
What are you going to do about the window?
It's my Canik S-120. Pictured here
Alright. I'll do that in a couple hours when there's light out.
I'm gonna get a job and pay for the window, that's what. I may live with my father still but that doesn't mean I'm gonna make him pay for my stupid shit. In the meantime, I put tape over it. It'll have to do.
Apparently not well enough. I shouldnt be fucking around with it while I'm at the computer. Fuck, I shouldnt even have the thing around me unless I'm doing something specific with it.
The closest I have had to a ND/someone in my family killing themselves was leaving a rifle on our outside table with a round chambered, safety off, barrel down the deck of the house.
>shot fox off the deck of the house
>quickly cycle the action
>cant see the fox, or a dead fox
>spent several minutes looking around with spotlight
>take .22lr to go out and look for a body and kill if just winged it
>find dead fox right where i shot it in the grass
>get back to the house
>cycle the bolt hoping i havent been a huge retard
>live round ejects
Thanks for the replies, /k/. When it's light outside I'm gonna go out and see if I can find out where that bullet went. I hope not into anyone. For now I'm gonna try and calm myself down enough to sleep. Goodnight, /k/.
OP here. I couldn't sleep so I looked closer at what I did.
Judging by the angle it looks like It went up quite a ways. I didn't see any busted windows on the house behind me, but then it's still dark so I can't be too sure. By my guesstimates it looks like it didn't hit any rooms, at worst probably hit the roof or something. I'll update in a few hours.
>Involuntary manslaughter at both the federal and state level is treated as a felony and usually carries a jail or prison sentence of at least 12 months, plus fines and probation.
>Going through weekly drill of clearing the house with HD gun.
>Clear all the rooms but one.
>Cut the corner in the living room and rack the bolt of my AR.
>Managed to punch a hole through my Applejack plush, and the circuit breaker.
