I actually really love cleaning my rifle. I'm sure that will change as soon as there's someone screaming at me after I'm done, but in the low-stress civilian world, I find it almost meditative in nature.
Throw on some old country and get wiping.

Does anyone know of a torrent specifically for the disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of firearms? I'm trying to get more complete library. I have a lot of exploded diagrams and manuals, but no real step by steps.

I know how to strip my BCG all the way and receiver and properly clean, but how do I clean the gas tube? I assume that needs cleaning? How?

But dude plz clean your VZ, its so easy its retarded. Literally a matter of wiping down the piston and carrier group and a quick clean of internals.

Anyone ever use a professional cleaning service at a range? I ask because I have a few guns I'd like to have very thoroughly cleaned and then put away for awhile. I was wondering if the $20-30 was worth it. Do they use special machines or is it just some fudd locked in a room who complains about cleaning anything other than a 1911?

havnt cleaned my CZ p-01 in like 500 rounds

haven't cleaned my ak in 1000 rounds it still dont need it
haven't cleaned my hipoint in 500+ still dont need it
corrosive ammo has forced cleaning of nuggit after every shoot
ruger 9mm has had 300+ rounds and still no need of cleaning
g3 i clean after 100 rounds but its not like it needs it
my other millserp rifles have been fired once for test and then cleaned and put up
my single shot .410 was cleaned when i first got it and its still not in need if cleaning after idk number of rounds
ar fags with there fragile rifles making it sound like all guns need constant cleaning

Don't trust the range unless it is just an ar or 1911. It's just a guy that has some basic firearm knowledge who will lose your springs.

It's not that the firearms "need" cleaned. But you should clean them. A man that takes care of his tools will keep them for life. And that takes a special meaning with firearms because you'll use that dirty gun until it stops working and possibly lose your life.

Half the fun of range days in my experience is getting to come home and relax, as I carefully disassemble and wipe down and lubricate every piece of them. With some good music and a nice sunset. It's a beautiful thing. I want to clean them right now even, but I just did yesterday and it pains me that I can't. I want to by a new gun so I can experience all of this fresh, and get my hands on new parts and "kinks," if you will, that each weapon may have.

I love shooting and letting my babies see some action and improving, but I do believe that if you don't also enjoy examining their history, intricacies, and caring for them, you can't truly say you love firearms.
