Convince me not to get an HK USP .40 for less than $600
>versus a former police issued .40 S&W for $320
Only downside is it was probably used to shoot a nigger once...
I say wait till you can buy one in .45 to be Solid Snake, don't be a worthless clone like this gun...or Liquid
Have a good reloading setup and have accumulated a bunch of .40 brass over the years. Wouldn't mind having a .40, and this is the only gun I'd ever buy in .40 because it's fucking cool and was designed around the round.
In MGS2:SoL Tanker chapter, Snake uses a USP 9mm
in MGS Snake uses a .45, but it is the Mk. 23 SOCOM and not a USP
step up your metal gear or get off my /k/
The usp along with a very few other good quality handguns are specifically designed with .40 in mind.
I don't like .40 because it's objectively inferior to the other two calibers but if you want, go ahead.
>You must continue the kill streak by inheriting the gun
pardon my autism Anon the two guns looked so similar. Just goes to show there is not much a difference in terms of 9mm and .45 in terms of damage.... in a game. then again most shots are at close range and they have the element of surprise
>mfw finding out my police trade in german p226 was used in a police shooting
However, they don't have nigs in the swiss
If you really have run into a usp for $600, then do it. It'll probably be a while before you run into a deal like that again. You'll lose sleep and won't be able to stop thinking about it for weeks.
>implying USP has to be in .45
>implying that wasn't a mk 23 in mgs1
>implying the USP was built for .40
OP, that is a fantastic deal
I have one, and it is the 2nd best .40 I have shot after the USPc. They are great guns and easy to shoot.
I got a police trade for $300. It's a super fun gun to shoot and manages .40 really well. Definitely worth the money and worth having if its the only .40 you intend to own.
BPR is the king of /k/
he is a /k/amraden who mag dumped his 1911 into a mob of dindus at the north Minneapolis police station, hitting 5 of them, when they attacked BPR and 3 other /k/ommandos
we really should be supporting him and the 3 others, it was a legit self defense shooting. they were attacked, retreated, attacked again, retreated, and only shot when they couldn't escape the mob after being attacked twice and couldb't out run 30-40 dindus. they got chased over 2 blocks. they fulfilled their duty to retreat.
>Have fun shooting less during the election buzz because of shortages
do .40fags actually and unironically use this as an excuse? Have fun setting yourself up for failure for compromising this hard
>mfw I buy 9mm for dirt cheap on black friday
>mfw I buy ammo in bulk
>mfw never had to worry about "shortages"
>mfw I get to actually enjoy my hobby
Funny how "much shortages" is used in a non joking manner now
Right now I am, and I have just under 1K rounds of 9mm and .40. Working on getting more .45.
>i own one gun and can barely afford any ammo
I have 4 pistols, 2 revolvers, a Mosin, and a Shotgun along with a half built AR-15.
I am not rich, but I am not poor either. Regardless I doubt any of you have 5,000 rounds of pistol ammo.
>i spent all my money on guns and cant afford to stock up on ammo
>shit i fucked up, well if i tell myself that nobody stocks up on ammo ill feel better about being retarded
Not him, but I've got 9 guns and less than 1000 rounds. I rarely shoot my rifles and shotguns and I reload for pistols. I keep a box or two sitting around for the shotguns, I do try to keep .308 around and I need to buy more, and I reload as I shoot with pistols.
I said 1K each, and I have some shotgun and .45 ammo. After I sell my two 9mms, I will get some .45 shotgun, and nugget food.
Except I do stock up on ammo, and I do have money for more ammo, my priorities are different at this moment however.
No anon. If you look at the production numbers from lets say Olin-Winchester and take out the government contract for 40 cal, they make about 4x as much .40 as they do .380 and it sells well. Just because people are buying pocket guns for carry doesn't mean they buy a ton of ammunition to practice with. Also, when the FBI and local agencies switch to 9mm, .40 overflow from Olin alone will drive the price to sub 9mm levels while the price on 9mm will rise as the supply is choked by a govt contract.
Source: Upper tier GBC employee. We are looking at even further development in Mississippi just to handle the changeover.
Then why is it more expensive than .40, and why isn't it a ISPA or IDPA standard round like .40 is?
Do you have any idea how big a fucking moron you are?
The only worthwhile subcompact carry guns come in 9mm, such as the p938 or 2075 Rami.
Go back to bed, kiddo.
Some people just get pleasure out of owning stuff dude. There are plenty of people that buy cars and they just sit in the garage all the time, and at that point there is no point in keeping gas in them. Your way of doing things isn't the universally correct way.
Between .40, .380, .357, and .38 spc, I have about 5500 rounds give or take 250. Really need to do inventory, I know I only have about 2000 rounds of .223 and 1800 5.56. Have around 1000 shot shells, about 2/3 birdshot for clays, rest is PDX12, 3" 000 buck, and slugs.
I bought a p238 for my girlfriend.
She shot my p938 and now wants one of her own.
That alone should tell you something.
The p238 is a nice gun, but there us literally no reason to own one over a p938.
Paying $15+ per box of plinking ammo vs $9.99 a box for superior 9mm is just silly. And the superior choice of good personal defense rounds in 9mm over .380 just nails the coffin shut on the matter.
I am more accurate and faster with the 238 over the 938. My target acquisition on follow up shots is much quicker as well meaning a big plus for the 238. Will I get a 938? Probably. Do I carry the 238? Yes, it is a good option when compared to my SP101 while being more concealable than my other carry pistol.
lets say you only shoot .380 a couple times a year
>buy a couple thousand rounds of .380 in 2016
>current price ~25 cpr
>never have to worry about having to find it in stock/in stock at a reasonable price
>get to enjoy ammo for a while without price increase
i bought a few thousand rounds of nugget food last year, i dont shoot that too often so ill get to enjoy 25 cpr nugget shooting for a few years
if you have a lot of calibers and shoot a lot it makes sense to stock up en masse, can save quite a bit of money over time
>if you have a lot of calibers and shoot a lot it makes sense to stock up en masse, can save quite a bit of money over time
I know the benefits, but at this point i can't afford to feed every gun i have so i feed the ones that matter.
It's a niche gun aimed at Vern Troyer.
I have both in my room now, the 9mm is about a half inch longer to accommodate the longer travel, and the grip is slightly wider, That's it. It's still smaller than a Mustang or Micro.
I had money for ammo, but then I wasn't able to make the same amount of money I used to, so my expenses chipped away at my savings, and now I have to play triage and stop buying ammo.
Are you literally retarded?
>It's a niche gun aimed at Vern Troyer.
The P238 is a Sig-ized copy of the Colt Mustang.
>I have both in my room now, the 9mm is about a half inch longer to accommodate the longer travel, and the grip is slightly wider, That's it.
It is noticably longer and wider. The P238 is a pocket gun. The P938 is not.
>It's still smaller than a Mustang or Micro.
>b-but muh .40 S&W is so much more expensive!!
Literally $10.99 a box at the first place I looked online. I've seen 9mm sell for more than that at the local Cabelas.
Left to Right:
1k Jack Ross 9mm
1k Federal 9mm
300 WWB 9mm
200 Federal 9mm
400 Tula BrassMax 9mm
100 AE 9mm
800 Federal 45 ACP
1k Prvi Partizan 45 ACP
250 UMC 45 ACP
That's 3000 9mm and 2050 45 ACP in the picture. So, 5k+ rounds of 9 and 45.
I didn't even include the hollow points, steel case or weird loads.
I don't have a stockpile currently, but I have more than enough for some plinking. 550 rounds of 9mm + carry ammo that I like to shoot every time I go, and some for the AR.
Are you thinking of the Pony or the .380 Government? Before you call people "nogunz," maybe a simple Google search "P238 vs. Colt Mustang size comparison" would be in order next time, no?
P238 = Colt Mustang with cosmetic changes to avoid patent infringement.
Goalpost moving faggot, there's a snowstorm so I can't get to my parent's house now. I keep a long gun and ~1000 rounds at their place. Then there's my father's collection of 9k+ rounds for slavshit rifles alone.
It's true. .40 can be had for as cheap as 9mm. That still doesn't make it any more viable than 9mm already is.
>constantly shit on .40 on /k/
>tfw have a feeling one day I'll own a usp .40 someday down the line
it's more expensive in the long run due to the excessive wear you're putting on guns by shooting an overpressurized bastard round
>necked down overpressurized round that's run in guns only built for 9mm most of the time with no ballistic benefit and diminished capacity is good
>>necked down overpressurized round
You've got things mixed up anon
I am in the process of selling my 9mms, and I will eventually get a USPc or P30 to replace the other two.
Right now I have one 12 gauge, a Mosin, one .40, one .45, 2 38spcl one of which is my Pop Pops Model 10, and 2 9mms which are ready to sell. I also have a AR partially built. There is nothing wrong with owning guns of various caliber and purpose.
I used to be worse, I had 4 9mms all about the same size and purpose. I have been selling them off slowly until I will eventually have 2 guns in each of the 3 major pistol calibers. I will have a rifle for combat, and a shotgun for combat, and a slimstack 9mm for summer CCW. Everything else will just be extra. I can afford all of this when I get things turned around in my life, but for now I need to play triage.
>feels free to give his "valuable" opinion about different handgun calibers
>doesn't understand what necked down means
>still expects to be taken seriously
Nigger, you just lost all credibility from now until forever.
You mean the ass holes that literally asked for it when they instigated it? They made firearms look bad.
Jesus moot why did you fucking purge pol, all you did was make every other board suffer.
Save up a little more and get a HK USP.45 instead
While I agree, $600 is hard to pass up assuming it's in favorable condition.
Looks like the URX 3.1 Forend Assembly, 10.75" Length from Knights armament.
