If you actually want to carry it you should look for guns you like about the size of a Glock 19. A P225 like I have been posting is typically way too big and heavy to CC for most people.

Earlier an Anon recommended the Sphinx SDP which I've heard are great guns and they offer both a compact and subcompact option.

You could also look into the HK series pistols which are high quality and reliable, e.g. USP Compact and P30

What is /k/'s opinion on the Five Seven? Ammo is probably expensive and it's too big to realistically carry, but the concept seems good regardless.

Hk p2000 or usp compact da/sa with decocker only configuration for carry and home defense purposes.

But hard to drop the glocks because they're so easy to use and maintain and I like button mag releases more than paddle mag release. If I only had Walthers and hk pistols then the mag release would be a non issue.

if youre asking for recommendations to your first gun, and money doesn't matter, still, get something basic. It doesn't matter how much money you put into something, if its your first gun then you need practice so get something durable and simple to learn on. Then over time you can upgrade, maybe get something a little more special then a run of the mill glock like a sig or something if you want.

If youre asking about any gun to treat yourself with and don't care about money, go window shopping and get anything you want, maybe split it up so you can get more then one thing
