Why are Marines so goddamn stupid? Why are their egos so fragile?
>>
>>28577350
Because thats what they teach them.
>>
>>28577358
>"U.S. soldiers are making massive advances in Iraq"
>Those are MUHREEEENS! Not SOLDIERS! MUHREEEEEENS! REEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>
>>28577350
Because the U.S. Marines are the most brainwashed branch in the U.S. military, by a huge margin.
>>
>>28577350
dont pay attention to those boots.
>>28577358 is right. They brainwash us to think that way. That being said, most marines grow out of that mentality by the time they hit the fleet and then get out at the end of their contract. Others go full motard and stay boots for life. As a Marine myself. It is annoying being called a soldier. Itd be like calling an airman a sailor. But I dont rage out about it.

>"hey bro, arent you a soldier? how was iraqastan? did you kill anyone?"
>"I was in Marines not army, it sucked and no"
typical conversation
>>
>>28577350
Lol, that guy sounds like a complete meat head jock.
>I don't usually get this moto as most other grunts would agree

Hahahahaha what a maroon.
>>
>>28577378
>It is annoying being called a soldier.

You realize that "soldier" is kind of a catch-all term for someone in the military? It's like the word "gun", that can apply to cannons, pistols, etc.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/soldier

This Marines™/Army™ thing is some purely U.S. nonsense. "Soldier" is not a brand. If you have a better alternative for an umbrella term to refer to servicemen, suggest it. And no, servicemen sounds gay and doesn't work these days and implies an all male force.
>>
>>28577378

Also, what's so insulting about being called a soldier? Do you have some superiority complex over US Army Soldiers™?
>>
>>28577404
Yeah they do, apparently "marine boot is as hard as army ranger school".

>laughingsluts.gif
>>
>>28577403
teh term for all service men is troops. Its what the media uses.
Yes it is only a US thing, but there are people that dont know shit about the military. They think everyone is in the army. and the only ranks they know are pvt, sgt, capt, and general cause that's all that movies teach them. I just tactfully correct and ignore their ignorance
>>
>eliminating bad guys.
Wouldn't it be more accurate to say he kills whoever he's ordered to kill?
>>
>>28577350
ahhh his gf definitely fucks niggers when hes overseas
>>
>>28577413
troops is plural

trooper is the term widley used for state police or paratrooper, which is specific.

soldier is a good catch all term for military.

nobody cares if you were trained differently or if you dont like it
>>
>>28577350
How many photos are there of solders and marines holding their girlfriends or wife's who are cucking them from behind in a hug.
>>
>>28577607
>troops is plural

This. What's the singular, troop? That sounds stupid, "soldier" is much more badass.
>>

I'm a muhreen and I can confirm. I went throught bootcamp at 23 so I pretty much was already the same guy Im gonna be for the rest of my life. But those kids they snatch up at 17/18? Holy fuck do they drink the Kool aide
>>
>>28577350
*Puts down fatherly pipe*

Son, sounds like you just got Told on XDTalk, and Told hard. Sometimes a man gets Told and he simply has to take that Telling and move on.

So you either track down that soldier and make sure he never opens his bitch ass mouth again, or you go back there and tell that Marine that he's right and you're sorry you dared to insult him.

The choice is yours, son.

*tussles OP's hair*

Now run along, scamp. It's time for me to pound your mother's tight ass so hard, she won't sit for a week.
>>
>>28577404

They try to instill in you during bootcamp that you are way better than any soldier will ever be, that you do more with less and yadda yadda yadda they basically force a superiority complex on you so that you FEEL like being called a soldier is a bad thing. But it's entirely on the individual to keep doing this shit after boot camp. These are some true stories

>on leave after my first time on a ship
>go to church with mom who happens to be in a church group with a bunch of old ladies
>"This is my son, he's in the airforce"
>"oh so youre a soldier anon? How lovely, do you like being in the air force?"
>"yupp, Its pretty nice I guess"

Most fuckin boots seem to forget that probably 99 percent of the world doesn't give a fuck about the military enough to learn about different branches and shit. And why should they? It's not like it even matters. I joined the Marines because I was unemployed and running out of savings I didn't even know they were part of the Navy until bootcamp

Can you imagine some Waffen-SS faggot getting all autistic about "No, don't call me Soldat! I'm an SS-Mann!"
>>
>>28577350
Shits pretty common everywhere bro.

My country, depending on your unit a private can be: rifleman, trooper, scout, crewman, private or gunners-mate (arty has a weird naval vibe).

And they all get super butthurt if you refer to them in the wrong manner... even though they are all privates and they are all army
>>
>>28578224

Hahahaha, awesome story dude, and spot on.

Because they are people.

But Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen, and Coast Guardians are different. It would be cool if people realized that.

They're a good branch, I'd go back-to-back with one any day.

>>
>>28578177
Lol, i joined same age.

Whole heartedly agree. I think if you wanted to sum up marine, and to a lesser degree the us military mindset you could call it "weaponized stupidity."

"Throw more guys at it, AND USE MORE YELLING!"
>>
>>28579562
>>28578270

To add on even more: my dad, who has a "my son's a muhreen" hat asks me sometimes how life in the army is lol like seriously no body in the real world cares what branch you're in were all soldiers in America's army. I'm a soldier in the US Army Marines according to most of my family and I don't even correct them because fuck it who cares
>>
>>28577378
This right here everyone in the thread going on about soldier this and whatever are missing the point about semantics and probably wish on some level that they were in the Corps.
>>

Dude, you are arguing with the fucking English language. A soldier is anyone who is in a military, regardless of the branch.

Civilians in the UK have no concept of differences in branches of the armed forces unless there is a film or TV series about them. I didn't learn any of the history of the royal marines until I was preparing to join, some astounding acts of selflessness and heroism. School history lessons aren't about being proud in England they are just about inherited guilt. So I can see why many civilians wouldn't want to bother doing any reserch of their own - despite all the effort their grand and great grandparents put in. Literally see people using war memorials in the UK as chairs or a source of bronze to steal. I think if you had more of a concept of what your forefathers fought for, you would have more respect for serving soldiers, stupid as they may seem.

The only difference between the army and the marines is that you get better uniforms, dont need the approval of the congress, you are a bit more stupid and the best movies about you are boring.
>>
>>28578129
>>28578129
Honestly that comparison would be more of a compliment to me. In reality, people feared/liked the SS more than us. They were viewed as intelligent and scary. We're just kind of viewed as meatheads and psychopaths.

I was a maween and it is probably because MC relevance is based nearly entirely on their Stalin level marketing department and deep down they know that they should either disappear and let the army do things or be an actual small corps inside the navy because the Marine Corps is irrelevant and costs a ton of extra money and headache dealing with fucking losers.

Who does ship to ship VBSS stuff? Right, sailors mostly. Who does amphibious assaults mostly? Oh right, sailors but almost none. Who can't shut up about how their initial training is three weeks longer? fucking Marines.

I regret the military in general, but I really regret not joining the fucking Army instead. One dude in one of the other rifle platoons in Iraq told me that his platoon was as well trained as navy seals. WTF? I had to count on these delusional douchebags to save my as and also not murder kebab in any obvious ways.
