>Rip sweet Rhodesia you were to good for the world
Talk about a nation fully committed to the right to keep and bear arms.
I think we all like the idea, but being in a constant state of war must be shit. I'd love to live in Africa, but the African dream is over. It's time to let go.
i did thats why i said fite me irl

Have another friend.
Glock 41 is weapon of choice for contemporary rhodesian operators. Rhodesia was an embarrassment to humanity, though it would definitely be nice to have some shithole country on another continent to attract uneducated racist young men so they don't bother anyone here.
>embarrassment to humanity
Anymore than Zimbabwe is now? It was never going to work out but the transition to majority rule was all kinds of fucked up. Also
>complaining about racism
>Rhodesia was an embarrassment to humanity
If you're talking about Mugabe running the jewel of Africa into the ground morally, economically, & spiritually then yes you are correct.
What's a good modern FAL or modern equivalent.
One of my dad's best friends was a Canadian volunteer during the bush war. He worked as a bush pilot before the war and flew a Beaver float plane before he was recruited by a scout looking for pilots. He ended up in the Rhodesian Airforce flying a transport with a WWII veteran who flew A PBY in the pacific. He was the copilot while the vet was the main pilot. He flew a C-47 and was there for a year and made bank.
He did everything from flying in food, ammo and mail, to SAS pick up's and drop offs at random airfields. He carried a S&W Model 19 on his person, which I bought from him 3 years ago. So I'll post a few stories he told me.
> Dad's Friend just arrives in Rhodesia
> introduced to his pilot Bob from America
> Bob and DF spend several days getting to know each other with Bob telling him about his war experiences and all the crazy shit he did in the Pacific
> there first mission together is carrying some supplies to a forward base
> Bob takes his flak jacket and sits on it
> "Why are you doing that Bob?"
> "You'll see soon enough."
> along the way they receive pot shots
> DF sits on his flak jacket too
> after dropping off supplies they fly back with a bag of mail, and a few other things
> take more pot shots on the way back
> DF sits on his jacket and puts another one under his feet just in case for the rest of the war
> flying in to pick up some Light Infantry guys at an airfield
> on the way there they take fire after flying over valley about the size of 10 football fields
> after landing and picking up the LI boys DF tells them they took a few shots on the way in
> LI commander ask where
> tell them the location
> on the way back the LI commander asked DF and Bob to circle the place where they took fire from
> IL machine gunner opens the door and sticks out his FN MAG 58 out the door and strafes the field
> another has a Bren Gun and empties mag after mag with everyone taking turns firing
