didn't see anything in the catalog
M1A owner here. I saw that vid before on Full30. I'm glad they did it. It was a wake-up call.
I'll be sure not to get into any battles in sandstorms.
arent these the guys who used a broken romanian parts AK in a test. Yeahhhh Im sure NOTHING is skewed in their tests or lied about. Moron.
>guns with exposed parts jam when you spray a constant stream of sand into them
>a gun with a small ejection port and no exposed parts is less likely to jam
what are they trying to prove? if they poured an equal amount of sand into the ejection port of the AR it would jam during lock up just like the others
>if they poured an equal amount of sand into the ejection port of the AR it would jam during lock up just like the others
That's the point is that the AR wont allow as much dust and debris get inside the action in the first place.
are you actually shit-posting youtube gun channel conspiracy theories?
The idea, I think, is that they want to test weapons in a somewhat realistic way. Spraying sand on an rifle while shooting makes more sense than intentionally placing sand into places where you know it will lock up
Let me open weapon A and stick gravel in it
Let me leave weapon B together and only poor in the ejection port mud and non coarse sand
Weapon A jammed...Really...REALLY!?!?
>if they poured an equal amount of sand into the ejection port of the AR it would jam during lock up just like the others
Actually it doesn't. Watch their mud test. They shovel mud on top of the open ejection port, and it still functions flawlessly (except it failing to lock open).
Or just watch the video you're bitching about and see as they spray the same amount of dirt into the AR's action while firing.
every video with a comparrison is biased. This one is no different and the fact he chose a shit tier parts AK in a previous vid thats been OPENED vs a brand new AR speaks volumes.
I don't get it. The AK failed the test with its dust cover closed. The AR passed the test with its dust cover open. I mean, you can't even refute it.
>brand new AR
I'm willing to bet that any AR would pass the mud test that they did. You should ask them to re-test with an older, used AR.
don't even waste your time, if he's accusing them of setting the AK up to fail from the get go then he'll find some reason why it's their fault and not the rifles
I own an AK even
>not posting the full thing
I simultaneously love/hate her.
Like i would beat her up and then fuck her.
Not that anon but you damn well know the point he was making.
An ar needs a clean surface to be cleaned or adjusted.
An ak just needs to be disassembled and dropped on the ground infront of you.
They're just different operating arms entirely.
too bad the m1a isn't important enough to be "modernized" by fitting it with something that covered the top of the action.
im sure it would be pretty easy to do and still allow it to eject properly.
unfortunately there's no need....
What? If I had both, and cared so little about them that I was willing to just give them away, why wouldn't I just do it myself?
Anyways, that wasn't the point at all. The point was to show how stupid a comment like "AKs are AKs" is. If the test had gone like I described not a single AR fanboy would consider it valid and THEY would be the ones screaming "monkey model".
Also, I've already done stuff like this with my Arsenal AKs. And I know that they jam when they get shit in them, and I know it's easy for them to get shit inside them because of how open they are. ARs are a nice sealed system and that works for them.
Not the point, again, if the test had gone the opposite way the AR owners would be the ones making monkey model accusations.
>What? If I had both, and cared so little about them that I was willing to just give them away, why wouldn't I just do it myself?
You said do the same test yourself.
I ain't buyin that shit just to test it homie.
nigga i been around since SAO.
First of all i'm just giving you shit.
Secondly I don't really care about which is better either way since no gun i own will get that dirty in the first place.
It's just fun seeing AK fags sweat.
why the fuck are we talking about AKs, they were not even in the video
to archangels defense those stocks are a fucking TIGHT fit.
it does improve accuracy compared to GI fiberglass
nonetheless agreed. $300 that would be better put towards a sage chassis
not saying its necessarily "bad" for the price (it is a stolen remake of a proven platform), but the only thing that I hate more than a ripoff is a guy who defends his "design" as an orignal idea.
+ while I would love a JAE, I dont see myself buying one. If they still made the G2 for ~$800 then sure, but since they only make the $1800 G3 now Ill probably look at a Sage instead. Real bummer since the JAE is 10x more beautiful and functionally better
It was a fair test on the grounds that the rifles were in the same condition an actual military would use them. You're not gonna find a lot of high quality versions of a rifle designed to be cheap above all other qualities except maybe in Russia, and you sure as hell aren't going to find large amounts of an expensive weapon anywhere. There really aren't that many AR's when you look at it.
Case in point, in Late-WW2 the USA had the Sherman and Germany had the Panther.
The Sherman was a turd, but it was a turd that could be shat out at speeds that would make even Andrew Jackson proud.
The Panther was one of the best German tanks of the war, but it took for-fucking-ever to make one.
Plus I'm pretty sure both Ian and Karl have said that they don't like the AK Platform and don't understand the appeal.
But here's the thing, which tank would win? The Sherman. Why? Because we could make thousands for every single German Panther that was even thought of.
And of course Ian has said before that he and Karl are biased against the AK. I think he said he didn't see the appeal or some other cop-out. Really he should of just stood his ground and openly bashed the AK like it desrves instead of pussying out and trying to reason out the argument. The AR deserves the same treatment but for different reasons.
It's fair because designs and muh history and interpretations of such.
Also jesus christ in an infant you faggots sure are stupid. Am I really the first one to interpret the video this way? Because it's been out for over a year now.
got damn! i knew it had titanium parts but i didn't know the whole fucking thing was.
and that is why i gave up on JAE. the just keep going up and up
$800 aint bad, i paid a little less than that for my sage
fulton armory had sweet sale on a stock pile of old wood stocks in all conditions.
deal was you had to buy like a dozen of them or something.
I shoulda jumped on it when I had the chance. try and refinish em and if you fuck em up who cares
At the end of the day do you regret anything? Im about to dive in but the appeal of a remington 700 is strong. I wouldnt have to deal with any inherent issues the rifle comes with factory.
I want 10" at 1000meters.
no i don't regret anything.
buttpad rails are steel and will rust
crush washer sucks after a while - find the correct spacing and machine something yourself
will include last con in next photo
I don't have a range that far so I can't comment on that
i found this little bugger one day on a detail strip. don't know how it happened or if it was the fault of my own. I could probly contact sage about it, but i might just wait for a catastrophic failure too
Honestly most WW2 US tanks look and act almost the fucking same so I might be thinking of the Lee or the Stuart or Pershing or Jimmy or Lacey or Nigger or Crocodile. Honestly I just needed a quick comparison and hoped I was thinking of the right tanks.
I was comparing the Stuart to the King Tiger wasn't I?
Anyway, my point still stands in comparison, and my point about bias definitely still stands so I'm just gonna call you a faggot.
sage's op rod guide is a bit of a bitch to install too. make sure you have a block of wood and a rubber mallet
The cost of a Panther tank was marginally more than the Panzer IV in terms of Reichsmarks and the man hours necessary for its construction dropped dramatically throughout production and for similar reasons to why the Sherman was so easy to produce, massive facilities were devoted to its manufacture which allowed for previously unprecedented economies of scale.
Id go for a mod1 if I went sage, still hoping to find a G2 used. Rail issue obviously wont be a problem.
Ill be going to school for machining in the summer, so thad be a neat project.
>tfw my welding instructor wont let me make a 4 winds in class, dosnt want a gun on campus
cant blame him, semi-sucks that he is a gunguy, I cant get anything past him
nigga call them up.
hahaha, can't blame the guy on the 4 winds bit.
i bet you'll be able to machine all kinds of parts though, just say they're for something else ....or don't let him see them at all haha.
yeah i should. maybe in the next few days
no one has a problem with me making shit for my guns, just amking guns period. Since it would be a felony anyway, I cant blame the guy, just looking out for both of us. Still funny that he recognized that shit right away
right right. yeah that is pretty hilarious. I'm sure you're not the first to try getting away with making one.
i'm sure other people have made waaaaay more outlandish shit like that. he's probly seen it all hahaha
WW2 tanks just fucking confuse me. I'll fucking admit it. The designs and designations just aren't that unique and the ones that are have entire books about them which I find boring. I find it interesting but I'd rather see something like a comparison or a cutaway disassembly.
But I know enough to argue that I'm not wrong when I said that the Panther was a better quality tank compared to the Sherman. If I'm not mistaken I think it was mostly because of the gun wasn't it?
Anyway, I'm done here.
Bahahahahahahaha! that's fuckin awesome!
I'm gonna catch some z's but before i go..
If you do decide on the Sage chassis, that "spacer" i was telling you to machine.
A guy on M14 forum was making them himself and selling them on there. I guess he's disappeared now. Anyways, he also included the necessary dimensions. You'll have to dig to find it but the thread is there. Might save you some trouble of research/guess work.
Good luck in all your endeavors /k/omrade!
>Visual representations are ignorant and shouldn't exist and you should feel bad for learning from them.
So a 500 page book that could be visually explained in about 15 minutes, is better than...no please by all means explain how a book is better than a visual representation? 'Cause if so then why the fuck does forgottenweapons or any weaponry-based youtube channel...
Fuck it...yep. I'm done.
Hell, why bother using guns for fighting, a physical object or representation is ignorant. Use carefully worded letter or short story. That'll learn em.
I see. Yet another example to confirm that people who regularly misuse ellipses are barely literate mouthbreathers.
Here you go. Read a fucking book and educate yourself. However, I do have a recommendation that should bring you up to speed before you read the previous recommendation and be generally beneficial and useful throughout your life.
You honestly believe that teaching through a visual representation is wrong? Holy shit. I thought you were screwing with me. No, you honestly believe that the written word is the one and only way to educate. Jesus, I'd hate to see how fucked up your kids are.
Maybe that was taking it a little to far, but I just don't see the point of explaing something like a tank using nothing but words when a picture or diagram is far better and easier.
Because visual representation tends not be a large portion of all the facts about the Panther tank I just schooled your ass on.
>You honestly believe that teaching through visual representation is wrong?
That's not what I said at all.
>That's not what I said at all.
No, but you heavily implied it. Enough so to make me
>Because visual representation tends not be a large portion of all the facts about the Panther tank
That's why I was saying to put it in a diagram, whatever the tank equivalent of a cutaway, or a comparison. Something that describes the individual parts themselves and shows how they work in the tank.
>I just schooled your ass on.
Yes, insult people that oughta make em believe you. Actually no, like normal people, insulting me will make me less likely to believe you.
And you didn't school me, I openly admitted I wanted to learn more because I'm interested but not knowledgeable on the subject.
But in the end I win. No one here has argued my original points about bias and quality versus quantity from >>28526035
I really wish Ian had just stood his ground openly bashed the AK and then someone else whose reputable could openly bash the AR and neither side would fucking exist, then these stupid fucking arguments /k/ gets into nowadays wouldn't exist and we wouldn't get into some philosophical debate that isn't gonna matter in a few hours when this thread 404's.
I needed an analogue that would fit the metaphor. You got any other ideas that would fit?
