I think Bloomberg gave about $40m in funding to anti-gun groups to help push their agenda, all for a state he had nothing to do with. Now he's doing the same thing with Nevada. Because of his funding, anti-gun groups were able to bus in people from surrounding states to do the ground work for gun control. Second, HB 2354 is like any House bill in that it must clear several hurdles before it could be considered here in the Senate. That means receiving a public (committee) hearing, then committee approval, then "yes" votes from at least 50 members of the 98-member House of Representatives.

Finally, even if the bill makes it before the full House, the 50 Democrats who constitute the House majority include several from rural districts. Their constituents may not view this issue the same way as the representative who filed HB 2354 - a big-city Democrat who just happens to be running for statewide office (lieutenant governor) later this year.
