I just look at this poor bubba svd and I think ruined
>stock now adjustable for length of pull
>superior pistol grip (i hate how small regular russian grips are)
>rail system now makes for an easier time co-witnessing
>keymod free float means now i have a modular system but not as heavy or uncomfortable as 1913 rail.
>suppressor mount muzzle brake
the only problem i have with this is the 1x red dot on what would be a fun DMR rifle.
>red dot on what looks like a 24 inch barrel
not him, but eat shit m8. I'm an ar15 fag. I would rather have an ar10 than OP's pic. I'd rather have a regular svd than OP's pic. I'd rather have an ar10 than a regular svd though.
but hey, if you already have one pretty looking good condition svd, this seems like a fun project and a fun rifle.
No it has a milled reciever so its either a actual svd a norinci ndm a super rare tigr with lighting cuts on the outside but all psl are stamped over grown rpk notice the receiver it looks nothing like a psl you dumb fag
>hey i'm an ar guy, I wouldn't actually do this "fuck with eastern tech" because i'd rather use an ar10, but that doesn't mean that this rifle is stupid, I think it's kinda cool.
Not your gun, you have just about no room to bitch.
As far as bubbaing an svd, it's not too bad looking.
If they weren't so artificially rare in the US, you wouldn't even give a shit.
I actually think the thing looks nice.
>one of only 200
How do you know the owner of that is from the US? In a few European countries, SVDs are available and don't cost an arm and a leg. I'm seen one that was decked out in pink furniture before; everybody was freaking out until it was revealed the owner lived in Switzerland.
When did people start thinking this means the exact opposite of what it means?
It's not just OP who's catastrophically ignorant, this is a thing now.
>all of this misinformation and rage in this thread
The rifle is clearly an SVD
There are around ~4 thousand SVD variants in the U.S. (Russian and Chinese)
only ~124 are military imports (100 post Soviet, ~24 soviet era)
The SVD in question is a military variant as it has a full length barrel.
HOWEVER, the rifle in question is also not located in the United States.
The rifle in the OP is a custom build rifle using a new rifle chassis made by a guy who lives over in the Czech Republic. He posts around on different English gun forums all the time.
There are no SVD parts kits.
The rifle in the picture is most likely an old military surplus SVD that was sold to a civilian market.
It's is crearly an SVD no matter what.
Source: I own one
here are a couple more pictures of his rifle
>There are no SVD parts kits.
Except there are...
Source: I own a few
but the rifle OP posted is an SVD that was customized
Hey Flan, haven't seen you in a while.
Do you have any info or anything on SVDs going KaBoom? We had yet another KB incident with an SVD here in Finland. This time it wasn't due to the floating firing pin as the rifle had s spring loaded firing pin.
It happened with factory ammo.
I'm trying to get more info on it.
This is like what, the second or third SVD KB in two years here in Finland.
Well you have your smuggled parts kits, but I meant more like no kits for the general public on open sale like AKs and shot like that.
Btw. seems like you've gotten a few more kits from the last time I saw you, gratz
pohatu is the sole reason I subconciously pick orange/brown colorways in videogames
yeah, been super busy and haven't had any time. moved to a new place etc.
Do you know what kind of bolt carrier it had? was it a military surplus one? A tigr?
do you know if they have safety sears installed?
lel I know, just here throwing a wrench in for the keks.
Military surplus carrier. The trigger groups were original with the safety sears as far as I know.
Still a mystery how it happened. I'm contacting the gunsmith who handled the case next week.
They issued a voluntary recall for all military surplus SVDs. Didn't send mine in.
Autism, It's in Russia over where they sell them cheap as fuck. Holy shit c'mon guys this is basic shit, What the fuck has happened to /k/
Exactly its one thing bubbaing a nugget or sks becuase their a dime a dozen but common it they just fucked up a rare collectible firearms that's has lost atleast 5 grand of its values
Yeah, but all the rifles were checked before sales.
I'll info you when I learn more about this. I'll make an SVD thread.
It is a peculiar thing considering there are only like a few dozen military SVDs in the country and maybe a thousand or so TIGRs, if that.
Btw. I'm doing some harsh cold testing with my SVD now that it's finally kinda cold here (-25F). Gonna start easy and keep putting snow and water into the action 'till it starts jamming.
Thinkng of doing the same thing with mud in the summer, kinda sorta replicating the InRangeTV tests.
>atleast 5 grand of its values
Not all modern customization is american where dragunovs are rare due to legality.
OP's image's rifle's mods were done by czechs, and they probably valued that rifle far less than 5k.
