Are hollow tips a meme round or sre they the most lethal? About to pick up some rounds for my .40 for home/self defense so want something that will end someone quick and easy
>are hollow tips a meme round
yeah halo tips are memes, you gotta get that purple dipped bullets, it paralyzes you, don't matter where you get shot, it just paralyzes you.
Kind of a meme, yeah.
They date back to early attempts at "manstopper" rounds of the early 1900's.
You're better off just using fmj, or flatpoints.
Of course, there's a huge industry centered around hollow point boutique ammo,
and despite having no real data to back their claims that hollow points are better, they've got most people believing the hype.
So don't expect that meme to die any time soon.
I would prefer 9mm Luger over .40 any day, but honestly, if you load up the pressure and use a heavier bullet, .40 is sort of attractive.
Of course, given that .40 guns are typically built on repurposed 9mm frames and this leads to a shorter lifespan, this practice would probably actually accelerate wear even further.
There isn't anything really wrong with it's terminal performance, it's just as good as 9mm.
>what is cavitation
Go to bed.
>Can't Google anything
>Not even what meme means
