Do you guys like my new scope? The guy at the store said it can only be seen by the truly gucci.
Hey /arg/, maybe you dudes can help me out. I just got medically retired from the Army at 27. I have decided to buy myself an AR15 as a getting-out present.
For $2000 on just the rifle, what would you do? I have a TA31 already, a box full of rebuilt GI mags, and I already ordered 5,000 rounds of Federal XM193 since I found a good deal. I'll have time to hit the range several days per week too if I so choose.
Go on Palmetto State Armory, Primary Arms, those are where you'll want to get most of your parts.
Lurk around in here to figure out what rifles you like. Then buy a stripped lower at an LGS and order all the other parts you need online.
Or if you want something closer to what you were issued, go buy a Ruger AR556 for $640 and put a KAC M5 rail and a set of MATech BUIS on it. If you want a puritan rifle close to your issued M4, get a Colt in the proper configuration, but I promise the Ruger will do all the same things for less.
haven't seen a battle buddy thread in a while
Thanks for the well wishes, and yeah I an likely going to build. I have a mil account set up with Rainier Arms so I get a bit of a discount. Probably going to build something like my SAM-R. Basically an accurized M16A4. Not sure yet though, I'll keep lurking.
Fair enough. Does your buddy parrot any words / sounds?
My male tiel has repeated my whistles, and I'm teaching him the BF1942 theme song
not really, although I have noticed a pattern in his speech. he'll make specific cheeps to say yes or no, or if he's calling me or someone else in the house. If I say his name he'll make a short clicking sound as if he's saying "yes friend that's me, what is it?"
his mom did before she died, she would speak a word or two like "love you" if she heard it enough. his dad still makes kissy noises if he's in the mood.
so still new to AR's.
After 100 rounds of PPU ammo today;
Did I lube this thing way too much, is this the usual I should expect, or is PPU just pretty dirty in general?
if you don't feed your guys Roudybush, you should seriously consider it.
my birds are considerably happier and healthier than when I was feeding them zupreem.
wow look at all that counter space to work with!
I'm sure you also got cross ventilation as well.
extra lube makes it easier to clean
What does ARG think of rugers SR-556® Takedown?
Any suggestions for cheap bulk orders on metal 5.56 AR 15 magazines?
Would tactically cuddle
well, coming from someone who doesn't have room for a good solid table with a vice, I kind of like if I can just swap barrels on the fly. But Then again, a table+vice really isn't that big a deal to get.
you might have to ease them into the new diet if your birds are picky or untrusting. I have yet to see a bird that doesn't like the brand though
m81 woodland will always be my favorite color scheme.
it'd go nice with my combat shirt in m81.
but then again, LBT has a mas grey carrier for sale again. think I might do that
>pastels mixed with earth tones
No idea. Good luck!
hahahaha that sucks.
Mega says it's 16" not 16.5"? I'm putting a suppressor on the end and I'm hope the suppressor will sit slightly inside the rail without me having to get the barrel cut down a bit
BCM listed mine as 16" but it's actually 16.5"
might want to call the manufacturer
and a suppressor that is inside the rail is semi-permanent. you usually have to take off the handguard too if you wanna switch it out or something
>believing the overlube meme
I just wiped down my entire BCG and its parts with lube after cleaning it. Its an AR dude, the bolt runs better when wet.
The only reason you'd not want to run a sloppy wet bolt is because it makes it messy, so yes you did "overlube" it but that's not a bad thing.
if you're like the rest of /arg/ and you're just doing it for looks, that's fine. just don't expect any appreciable difference in function.
it's good gear, good warranty and a worthwhile company. they haven't innovated recently but I'm still in love with my 6094.
>high-end competition guns. they have little to no value for a combat or recreational gun.
Disageed. Explain your reasoning.
Mine's if bcg can shooting thousands after thousands with no additional lube another than squirt say between 3k rounds or few games.
I thought of that but when i reread and see
> specialized BCG coatings and treatments
That shown and imply he had strictly coated or nitrided bcg in mind.
Im like 99.99% sure hes a "know nothing tommy but want to sound like know alot johnny"
I had considered this setup recently. How do you like the SPARC + VMX3T combo anon? My dissy needs and optic and I can't decide between this or the Spitfire 3X.
i need an fn lower tl match my fn handgun which just happens to be the best damn sidearm for the ar15.
The Smith and Wesson 4506 is objectively the best sidearm. However if you want a different caliber and some form of concealablity, the 3913 is acceptable is well.
All other choices are incorrect.
>Toss that fucker in boiling distilled water
>sweet ass rust blue
It's not a bug it's a feature
>SIG Wins Again
>decocker and 1911 style safety
>can make safe while the hammer is cocked
>don't even have to bother with DA
stay mad sig fags
>I don't have to pee standing up!
>I can walk around with my hammer back!
Tell me how great your tiny decocker is when you get shot by jamal fumbling with your safety
>High Speed Low DragQueen
eh, they're probably close enough
or i use my glocks, m&p, steyr, VP9, or whatever and not give a shit about safeties
Zero them at 25 like any other irons dumbass, he's fucking with you.
>I can just use Shit, Shit clone, Rare Shit, or MACshowedhawshititis shit.
>Either way, I had to go to another gun to even match the SIG
Yep, have fun with that.
>only owning one handgun
>it being a sig
oh man, how terrible
I own three others and need to take pictures.
>any revolver that isn't a 686
Did you just talk shit about my Dan Wesson?
No I don't.
Seriously though, why do you say that?
You sure do.
You get a revolver with what, a 7" barrel, and its in .357? A couple of other shitty revolvers
Some czech/slav shit
A rust magnet
And a pocket pistol
Id LOVE to see your rifle
>Glock Nigger talking shit about CZshit.
Because double stack .38 Super fucknuts.
8" barrel, and it's a target revolver. You obviously know jack and shit about revolvers.
Ruger Blackhawk is shitty now?
Here, have my rifle.
that's not a double stack 10mm, fag
>Just watched that scene in scanners when the dudes head blows up.
Target, so its good at punching paper. Whoohoo
You like grandpas guns mang, just own up that your shit taste is decades outdated, like so old its not retro.
It's a DanWesson, I can swap barrels in less than a minute to a 2" CCW, a 4" belt gun, whatever I want. And it's a strong ass gun meant for hot magnum loads.
That gun was built by JMB over a hundred years ago, show some respect mall ninja.
So you can change out expensive barrels easily enough. Okay
Its an old design. Okay
Designed by some dead mormon who designed a lot of shit.
If I want to respect JMB it will be an M2. You know, a design that has held up. Just because something is old doesn't mean that its good.
Going to bed, only up because I was digesting oatmeal after my run.
In truth, I just buy guns I find interesting.
First handgun, paid $500 for it in the case with three mags
Wanted a .357, friend was selling it cheap, shoots like a fucking champ and cost me $350
Wanted a .45 Colt
I like the way they feel in the hand, and the Makarov is my 100 yard pistol, my record is a spray paint can shooting one handed
And the Model 8 was a gift
My AR's are 'Meh' And trigger the fuck out of MilsurpDude when I post them, and my AK's are 80% builds (Like my AR's)
But I know my guns inside and out and I'm good with any of them to several hundred yards (Yes the pistols too)
Anyway, goodnight my Gucci shitposters, have fun.
>having to manually adjust the brightness
when operating in tactical operations, you won't have time for that. that's why I bought the tactical self adjusting operators model for operating seamlessly.
This annoys the shit outta me.
People who buy something, anything, this guy with his sig he bought off his friend because it was cheap.
Now its the greatest implement ever designed. In order to justify his purchase, he considered the object a part of him. To shit on the SIG is by extension, to shit on him.
Actually, if you were capable of reading fucking English you would see the SIG was my first gun. I bought the .357 from my friend.
And if you take random shitposting that serious you may be autistic, the H&K is a fucking amazing gun, I was just talking shit with my SIG for fun. Get your fucking life together dumbass.
why is my TRS-25 slightly shifted to the left when looking down my rail?
Did I put the riser on backwards or something?
I can't really get a good picture of it, but you can tell when looking down the lower 1/3 cowitness.
I mean maybe the emitter covering up most of the right ear makes it look like its offset to the left? My friend shot my AR recently and he said something about it too.
I wonder because when looking down the cowitness Im not sure Im getting the correct sight picture.
Being allowed doesn't make it good. Or not infantile.
Anime is a trash media, and a trash style.
Someone else should visit Taurus for the lulz.
Are you sure you're not thinking of me at Taurus?
Cameras on phones were sooooo bad back then.
It was an iPhone 3GS.
A more recent pic to wash that awful picture quality out of my eyes.
Since it is a simple collimated red dot, any parallax error should be within the size of the dot after 50 or so yards. Just zero it at 50 with the dot centered in the optic, and any shift in actual use will be so minor as not to matter.
I forget the exact numbers, but as an example the original Aimpoint Comp M (late 90s early 00s with the 3 MOA dot) had something like 2.2" of parallax shift at 100y, but since the error was within the 3.14" dot at that range they marketed it as parallax free, won a few big mil contracts and built an empire around it.
Just a big waiting area full.
I've also been to the NRA firearms museum. That's probably the most impressive collection I've seen.
The American History museum has a surprising amount too.
This was a weeb site first and foremost, and weapons anime is allowed on /k/
Cry more bitchnigga
Stay pleb with your basic white boy taste.
>ohio. koala desu. ickydickmasu
the one in fairfax? I took pictures of about everything there
I do not lube the FP.
But any other metal to metal contact parts should be lubed
Oh look, a newfag.
A newfag TRIPFAG.
Everybody lost your gun collection and anime collection
>I don't like something therefore no one should post that content on any thread or board I visit
You were the second post of the thread not counting OP, so it was pretty much shit from the start.
My life is a life devoid of railed GBs, therefore it is automatically better.
Anyone have experience with Anderson's jig set? Is it worth a damn?
Suggestions on jig set? Anyone that sells EVERYTHING I would need as far as tools are concerned, the jig, end mill, etc etc.
What's your favorite train?
I have a train that goes by my house that looks very similar to pic related.
One time I waved at the conductor and he waved back, It was so cool.
I don't think it's technically hearing safe, but you can shoot with it out in the open and be fine. It's great for running around and hunting. I wouldn't shoot indoors with no ear pro or under an awning without ear pro.
check @ 8:33
Over 10 rounds it falls below the 140db osha standards but that frp. If you want something that will be more capable for plinking all day with no ears on than look at PCCs, 22lr ar15s, or 300blkout.
I'm pretty sure that's an F40PH. It's a meme train, and was used to derail furry threads.
Where do you guys put your flashlights on your rifle?
i use the left side because it's the furthest forward i can get it.
Is $3000 reasonable for a top-tier .300blk SBR build? I just totalled my parts and it's right about there. Obviously I could go cheaper if I didnt want a $450 receiver set, $800 T-2 w/ mount and $350 Noveske barrel but I want dat shit nigga
1:30 position is best position.
Should've listened to what everybody says on NV. One thing where you have to really buy once cry once to do it right.
meh I'm not totally dissatisfied. I use it to spy on my birds while they're sleeping.
To my knowledge, there's only 1 range around south florida that allows night-time shooting and it seems like my schedule and theirs isn't meant to line up so night-time fuckery is on my back-burner.
midway usa. they usually ship to ohio in 2 days with standard shipping rate.
new to the AR world so please bear with me
if I wanted A1 type furniture, could I just get any old lower and upper, a longer barrel, and just throw that shit on there? or do I have to have an A1 receiver too? I read some guides on grinding down an A2 receiver to make it look more A1, but that seems like too much a pain and like it would be too high risk for babby's first build.
>implying you can drive vehicles around at full speed with thermal
Thermal's great, but NV has its place.
>there's only 1 range around south florida that allows night-time shooting
Is that all you're using your NV for?
I get about 1moa with 75gr HPBT handloads out of my bcm 14.5 barrel
coyote should be fine with 55gr and for deer just try out some 69gr and see if it shoots precisely out of your barrel.
as for exactly what bullet, that's up to you but i imagine as long as it was made for hunting, it should be good to go.
You are fine for all the shelf varmint loads for yotes, deer may take a little more. If you can't get the 64g bonded or heavier to spit right out of the barrel for deer, Federal does make a 55gr bonded for LE.
I'd have to be real confident in the shot to take it though.
Does anyone know if the sand colored pmags are supposed to be stronger than the black ones? I heard it mentioned somewhere but I haven't seen anything were magpul officially acknowledged it
Yea, but you can put a high seat in a Ranger easier.
It's not mine. It's my buddy's that he has on his ranch. I've got a 4 seater Kubota and a 2 seater Mule at my ranch.
I mean I guess safely yeah.
doesnt change the fact polaris still won the military contract for the MRZR's
things that suck about ordering Larue from a international distributor. No dillo dust
+1 on 10.3" or longer.
You lose a lot of performance with a 7.5". Being able to fit a 9"+ rail is also nice to make room for you hand, front sight, and any other accessories you may want to use.
Picture is an 8" and a 10.3"
Found a picture with my old 7.5" as well. Even with a single chamber you don't gain a lot of manuverability going that short.
I do like the S&W 4506 and have always wanted one. I've got an Atlanta Police marked trade-in 5903 that I love.
Having said that, AR and 1911 is better than that.
One of my buddies is subscribed to TacPack and got one of these tool sets that mounts directly to a rail which he gave me. It's kind of neat. Has anyone else tried tac pack? It seems like good stuff.
Also apologies if this is also upside down. My iPhone hates me.
Is this a good one? Im brand new to ARs. Everyone says that 1:8 barrel is the thing to have.
Is there anything here thats going to fuck me over? Will this actually work?
Ive got like an hour and a half to decide.
i can has cheese burger, too?
*makes sad face and sheds a tear
I showed your rifle to my wife. She was fairly amused. That's not easy
it's nice to know that others enjoy my rifle as well.
Got my failzero/nickel boron coated BCGs in today, a day early, and went out to test fire before and after work. Both worked. And they are a $60 more expensive per BCG than the nitrided BCGs I originally ordered. Free. Simply because Alpha Shooting Sports didnt have replacements in stock and offered me an upgrade.
Very happy now, although time will tell if they are quality and hold up to actual use.
Took two videos, both are shit but one isnt even usable. Might attempt to make webM of them later if I feel up for figuring that out.
Thats not the image I picked though...
What tools does it include? Anything actually useful?
so I'm building a 16" 300 blackout with a carbine length gas system. This is coupled with an A2 length buffer due to my countries regulations. Am I likely to have any feeding problems? And if so how can I mitigate this?
