>Be this morning
>Be out running errands, decide to stop by gun store I usually go to
>Wanted to pick up some ammo and see if they have any new milsurp rifles in stock
>It's the most crowded I've seen it since Sandy Hook
>At 11 AM on a Wednesday
>So many people that it's difficult to look at the guns because you're always in someone else's way
>Most of the ammo for the calibers I need is gone, all that's left is the expensive stuff like Hornandy
>Still out of .22lr, I haven't seen any there that wasn't the super expensive match grade stuff since 2012
>Nearly shit my pants looking at the guns
>M92 PAP AK pistol for $849
>It was $449 last time I was there
>That lel-kek forward ejecting .308 that takes FAL mags
>$2000
>WASR 10 for $899
>Remington 870's and Mossman 500's for $499
>"Battle Packs" of 6 shitty no name AR mags for $90
>You can see the price tag previously said $38
>Turn 360 degrees and walk out
>Go to Cabelas
>Everything is priced well and I buy what I need and then a couple P-Mags in case I'm able to sell them to retards for $50 like they were going for a few years ago.
Why do gun owners panic at the slightest hint of gun control laws? I mean, this time, all Obama did was do some EO's regarding FFL licenses and background checks. I haven't been able to find non-match .22lr in stores since December, even online it's expensive, and if I can somehow find it for $.04 a round, the cost of shipping negates the price.

And lo it was observed after the fact, the administration of President Obama was one where people constantly freaked out about him taking guns away, and he did no such thing even close to it. And thine arms dealers delighted at the sales.

Next began the administration of President Clinton, and all ammo quintupled in price, and never fell again.
>>
>>28457370
fuck you casey
>>
>>28457709
It is bullshit. Read the text of the EO, and it's mostly wishful thinking and preschooler-tier whining. And a promise of extra funding to the ATF and FBI so they can hire some more thugs. Like that's really going to make it through Congress.

He also claims credit for the finalized ATF ruling that eliminates the NFA trust loophole. That one had been in the works since 2009. Funny, he's strangely silent about the fact that you don't need a CLEO sign-off on NFA stuff any more, which is part of the same ruling. The main reason for trusts isn't a thing anymore.

I can't wait until that particular tidbit filters into the collective consciousness of the Left. We should wait a few months and really start hammering it home. Libs will feel betrayed, and they'll punish the Dems at the ballot box. Gavin Newsome and Kamala Harris need a big dose of Terminal Failure.
>>
>>28456411
"GET OFF THIS PAGE, BECKY"
>>
>>28458420
This. His EO is literally nothing. 200 more people to speed up background checks and some other non-problematic garbage. Why is everyone freaking out?
>>
>>28456411
Get off this page, Becky.
>>
>>28456987
it's only 26.99 at the gunstore I work at, but of course it's going to be more expensive than the internet or big box price.
>>
>>28458506
Because he's subverting congress on a whole lot of nothing. It doesn't seem to be anything of magnitude enough to warrant the use of an EO, but he's toting it as a big step in the 'right direction'.

My guess is that it's meant to a) make the gap bigger between pro-gun people and anti-gun people, and/or b) be the beginning of a slippery slope of Gun Control legislation/Executive orders
>>
>>28458506
It's not "nothing". Now there's no way to avoid submitting fingerprints and photo id if you want to own an NFA firearm.
>>
>>28454206

>woe woe woe obama gon take mah guns

>>
>>28458583
Yeah big fucking deal. You still don't need a CLEO sign off. Any person who doesn't form a trust has to do it so suck it up faggot. That still doesn't warrant panic buying like he announced an all out gun ban.
>>
>>28458571
Or, get this, hes doing 'something' without doing anything.

Face it. Obama doesn't care about guns and thus won't bother doing anything against the 2nd.

>>
>>28458614
That's somewhat what I meant by polarizing pro-guns and anti-guns even more

>pro-guns sees EO and flips out
>panic-buys
>preaches on normiebook about the EO being evil, Obama being Antichrist incarnate, etc
>makes himself look foolish and is used as an example by liberal anti-guns

alternatively,

>pro-gun sees the EO and doesn't flip out
>recognizes it's not much if anything at all
>still disagrees with most of it because it just ends up as more taxes to pay, as well as a larger inconvenience to get a gun
>discusses it with anti-guns
>"well if it's no big deal then why be against it?"
>"because it's still dumb and won't accomplish anything"
>"but it won't affect you if you're not a criminal/but if it saves one life it's worth it/guns are more dangerous in today's world/etc"
>the two now are probably less friendly with each other and tensions are higher between the two, dividing the country even deeper on the issue
>>
>>28458614

This. I think he just enjoys flicking the conservative gun-clit and cackling when they squirm.
>>

/pol/ here, I don't know much about guns or laws concerning their sales but the EO does affect me with the mental illness thing because it means I won't be able to buy a gun for the rest of my life just because I told a doctor I was sad 5 years ago.

If the gun isn't sold, but rather gifted to me do I still need a background check?
>>
>>28458975
As someone who was already on the fence about getting help for my depression, now I definitely won't be seeing any doctors. Thanks, Obama.

To answer your question, transfers of any kind have to go through an FFL.

Are you people really this stupid? You don't need to go through an FFL for private transfers unless your state makes you. Obama wants the ATF to crack down on unlicensed "dealers" aka people who buy copious amounts of guns in an attempt to sell them for a profit (which is already illegal if you are playing pretend gun dealer without an FFL). Any hobbiest or collector (which is 99.9999% of gun owners) is completely fine selling a gun here and there.
>>
>>28454206
>almost be worried

Can you get 22lr online for decent prices?
>>
>>28454438
>I like to support local businesses
Same, whenever possible if they're within reason.
>>28461966
It costs money to keep a store open, and handling an item before I buy justifies paying some extra cash.
It sure beats buying something expensive sight unseen, then finding out you don't like it. For instance, I feel sorry for a lot of the people who've bought underfolder aks just to find out that it isn't comfortable to them.
>>28462068
not really... but you could do worse I guess
>>
>>28454206
Those prices are closing in on yuropoor level. Let me know when you have to pay $60 for ruger BX-25 mags, or $100 for extended mag tube for 870. Or $1000+ for beretta 92
t. yuropoor
>>
>>28462412
One more thing: plus side is that we have tons of .22 here. About $30 for 500 brick of cci standard.

but they all price gouge into a new level.
>Be at local Tacklebox

My local store sells 762x39 for 20/box, but it's US made brass case at least.
That's disgusting paying that for tula. I wouldn't even pay half that for golden tiger during that dry patch where it was nowhere to be found.
>>

>>

>Would have to go through an FFL to hand my gun to my friend
Holy shit you're stupid. My state already has this kind of shit and it's not like that at all. Granted it's stupid but it's not as bad as you're making it out to be. If you think transferring a firearm is handing your gun to your friend to shoot at the range in the eyes of the law, you're retarded
>>
>>28459091
You're the problem, you fucking idiot. Kill yourself
>>
>>28459091
I got some ammo and magazines just before all this started
>>
>>28458975
So I'm this guy and wow /k/ you were right, I am a dumbass

Even with a previous psychiatric hospitalization (which was classified as voluntary for some reason but it wasn't) and diagnoses of several prohibitive disorders I was able to get a Mossberg 500 and 2 boxes of Winchester AA12FL8 for $350 in as much time as it took me to fill in 10 blank spaces, plus a $50 knife thrown in for free because I was looking at it like I wanted it and "well I did just sell you a shotgun".

I thought it would take at least 15 minutes (the salesman showed me how to use it safely and use the cablelock and that took a bit longer but that doesn't count) but no, and I guess I passed the background check.

So basically if anyone else is retarded like me and came here wondering if they could still get guns, if I can pass a background check then you can too.
>>
>>28459107
>>28463158
How am I the problem? It's the presidents fault for uttering the words "gun control" on national television! I am just reacting to other golks reactions, everything is selling out and I have to get the scary ones before they disappear forever.
