So these guys that do military archaeology unearthed this thing on a WWI/WWII location in Romania and have no idea what it is. Does anyone have any idea what it is? Apparently it still has some Feldgrau marks on it so it's most likely a military artifact. I can post more pics if needed. A guy assumed it could be from a telephone switchboard but i'm not certain.

It's a broken typewriter.
>>28451543
if those conduct electricity properly it's properly a switchboard of some kind
or it could be a musical instrument

This
looks like the remnants of an old typewriter
>>28451563
I have strong doubts. It doesn't look like any typewriter i ever seen.

They say it's way too big to be a typewriter. I haven't seen it in person.

Typewriter.
>>28451543
Piano?
>>28451589
Well of course it doesn't look like a typewriter, it's the board on which the keys rest, seperated from the mechanical components.

It looks like it's on the edge of a fountain. Typewriters are huge, dude. But maybe it's from an old cash register, which were typically bigger.

naw, they ain't all that big
>>28451665
I guess it is just an adding machine, not a cash register.

Well that component isn't from a 70's - 80's typewriter, dorkus. It's rusted to shit, probably 30's or 40's, maybe 20's, and typewriters from that era used to take up a third of someone's desk.

>mfw
this adding machine is from the 20's nigger

It could be the first example of digital memory missing some important components for all I can fucking tell.
>>28451766
Yeah, but it's an adding machine. Not a typewriter or cash register. From what I can tell from the shitty photos, it's a different shape from typical typewriters and registers, which match the shape of OP's component.

Looks like /k/ isn't all it's cracked up to be...

/k/'s expertise is with on weapons and military equipment, not peices of junk dug out of some cowfield in europe.
It might be some peice of military equipment, it might also be fucking nothing.

turret control for a tank?

Some kind of communication piece. Old style rotary/bell phones have a similar mechanism.
