I know it's probably a moot point, but do think HK will ever build and release the HK243(G36) here states side? or is the closest we'll get is the .22LR walther clone(ish)
Because of reasons.
Remember, the U.S. army has tried twice now to replace the M4. The only reason we still use it, is because nobody else can or will sell a new rifle to the DOD for the same price that we pay for an M4($250-$500per unit)
>or is the closest we'll get is the .22LR walther clone(ish)
You can have a 99% accurate G36 clone in the US. Just buy a SL8, a G36 parts kit, and send it off to somebody who can weld the rear receiver of a G36 onto a SL8. It will cost you though; a fully converted SL8 will run you around $5k in total costs.
I'm currently building one. My second SL8 is going to be a XM8 clone.
>pic related, my partially completed G36 clone
I still need to dump around $2k into the gun to complete the clone build.
And here's a SL8 converted into a G36k. Fully possible to get a G36, but it's going to cost you.
Tom Bostic is the one that developed it. It's not completely 100% accurate, but it's damn good and it's as close as anyone is ever going to get to an XM8.
>tldr; it´s the BATF´s move now
I want to see someone magdump an sl8 with a drum in slowmo
Needs the heavier MG36 barrel so I guess they will just upgrade. If the gobernment really wants to waste our money they will switch to an AR15 platform.
No just like the M4 it was build with light weight in mind and just like with the M4 it needs above all a heavier barrel and H&K had already thought of that in the form of the (L)MG36.
My guess is because the US has been looking into different calibers the germans and french have been put off of adressing the issues like the thin barrel or shitty sights of the G36 or the FAMAS necessity for steel casings.
This "problem" was manufactured by the German government. Not only are the test results bogus, but they specifically changed their original contract with HK to use lighter barrels than HK recommended. The rifles the German military has on contract are unique to them.
The kit cost $1400. He sells it right now, just e-mail him. It's bolt-on to a standard SL8, so no other work is required to make it work. I'm still going to have the magwell expanded and the barrel shortened to 14.5" + pinned/welded flash hider.
aka most of the guns are broken
HK stikes again
Because the Germans are cucks that would rather spend money on welfare and shit than at the very least maintain a decent military. It is just their rifles that are in shit state, the entire air force is a joke. At this point they should just get rid of their entire military
Also the current defense minister is a cunt that wants to make a move for chancellor. Going after HK for problems that are the MoDs fault to begin with would make it seem as if she did something to clean up the MoDs clusterfuck of a procurement history/process. It's a lot easier to go after a small arms company than it is to go after a giant aerospace and defense contractor. Like if the US went after colt/FN/Beretta for some small fuck up but left Lockheed Martin alone for the F-35 cluster fuck(only the Lockheed part has actually happened)
