AZ fags report in.
Was posting in the /akg/ thread with pictures of a used WASR that some local anons kindly advised me not to purchase before I shortly ordered a new one from Century.
ITT we will shitpost about how gay it is here (unless you're from here and like it, of course) and about a potential future nuggetfest/desert autist meetup.
Glendale and 83rd/Westgate Area checking in.
Anon have you been to ben avery range? I havent been yet.
Nah I shoot in black canyone I hate range rules
I worked a skeet competition at ben avery over the fall its an amazing range.
AZ is the best. Mesa here, who else is enjoying the rain?
I like that CZ though... less than a year until i'm 21 and then a trip to CZ custom! Hopefully on my birthday.
Until then... riffuls and shotties only :(
I run a detailing business, normally i would hate it but we are working indoors on a King Air 90 at glendale municipal for the next few days so enjoying the rain and /comfy/
Right? Having no rain through the year makes us appreciate it more I guess.
Have you decided on which model you're getting?
Who ccing in coffee shops right the fuck now?
Just spent the holidays in Mesa, and I have to say you guys have it pretty nice. I probably can't talk my wife into retiring there, but I'm holding out hope. The stuffed mushrooms from AJ's came out great.
we do them, just not nearly as often as cars. Most bikes we get are newer Harleys that the owner wants the dust knocked off of, a few scratches polished out of the tank and a coat of wax on.
Phoenix, about 20 minutes from Scottsdale Gun Club.
Let's go shooting, especially if anyone's cool enough to go innadesert and help me sight in my AR. I don't know any good shooting spots outside of the range, a buddy would be awesome.
Might be up for providing sexual favors as well. Assuming you're clean and attractive, I'd love to suck some cock, no strings attached.
North central phoenix here, workin all night. Every night.
I highly recommend BA. Aside from not renting shit and the ROs occasionally being a little high strung, it's a great range. If you are willing to wake up early and show up at 7 AM, the range is dead as hell and the guys there pretty much just shoot the shit around you.
Nah it's all about inna desert
I hate range rules no vodka
Only place I know I can get to in my Camry for inadesert is Table Mesa. And that place is risky at the best of times. And because so many fuck heads ruin our outdoor spots, no one is willing to inform of decent car accessible spots.
Man I walk out like a mile or 2 in black canyon city and shoot at 600m at the aqua fria
>pic related my ar setup
I shoot on trust land all the time
Get a hunting license and go "coyote hunting"
I never had a problem with SGC, but finding help can be a birch when they're busy. Agreed on US Autoweapons or Special Forces Outdoors or whatever they're called now though, fuck that place.
Bear Arms has a better selection than anywhere else I've seen though.
Scottsdale during the week, Fountain Hills on the weekends
well shit, that's around where I shoot, Tanto Ntnl Forest area? Sugarloaf Mountain/Sycamore Creek?
I can't really say I have faith that there'll ever be an AZ meetup. I think if something were to happen, it would have to be large enough, and have a great enough incentive to make it worth it. I think that, instead of an AZ meetup, there should be a Southwest meetup for /k/ommandos from many different states. there's a reason nuggetfest is so popular (I think it's up in MN), and that's because a lot of the Northern dwelling /k/ommandos are invited and capable of showing. I don't know exactly what goes on, but I'm certain there's an incentive aside from something like "show up just for the sake of meeting like minded people in your area." things like tannerite target shooting (I think that happened), camping and BBQ. just my two cents, and to be perfectly honest, I think I would be much more likely to show up to something that I knew a lot more people would go to, and that I'd be fed and there'd be plenty of cum brownies and ammo to go around, but I think it would have to be a BYOB sort of basis, in terms of ammo, food, shit to shoot at, lodging, etc. like I said, I don't know how nuggetfest works, but I imagine it's a bit more planned out than just "grab nugget, gaysex innawoods"
Man it's boring here but the views are unbeatable.
SGC is fine as an indoor range and has a lot of fairly cheap rentals. AFAIK there's nothing else really good in N. Scottsdale.
A friend of mine has been considering a membership there to learn how to shoot his new CC, but I've been trying to advise him against it. His reasons are that it'd be closer than shooting in the desert and he can go "pretty much anytime", but IMO the benefits don't outweigh the costs.
Anyone know of any good shooting spots in Flagstaff? I don't mean "someone's backyard 10 minutes east of Whatever", I mean "a place where I can shoot in peace and not get buttfucked by police for doing something 'illegal' on someone's property". Preferably pointed out on a map.
602 reporting, I'm looking to get into the 300 Blackout, did some minor research.
Only thing I can see myself staying away from the type is due to the super pricy ammo.
Any thoughts? Experiences?
Besides the area being prepared for people (firewood, designated ranges roped off, bathroom) it was not. The hardest part is getting a location squared away for a large group in an area where you can pump lead downrange for 8 hrs. A smaller group would actually be easier to deal with. Food and shelter were BYO, though many planned to share a lot. On exchange, the atmosphere was a friendly place to shoot guns, spout memes, and be amoung the like-minded.
OP here, I'd be down for even a smaller meetup, a large one would be badass though. If it's a location that is not too much of a pita to get to with a normal car (idk about where some of you are going, or if you need some lifted truck to get out there as far as desert spots go) I think more people would be down. Irl memes and some fun shooting shit sounds like a blast. We can all bring our own nuggets, food, etc and it could be sweet.
I don't care if you guys want to have my dox, but we should make some way all of us can figure out the when and where and who's interested. Fb group, or something? Any ideas?
I guess it's okay as a range. I'm mostly just extremely hateful because of the shit show that goes on next door. I mentioned that I was interested in some of their stuff and they said they would make me a deal and offered it to me for literally 175% of MSRP.
Facebook group made
Search "AZ /k/ommandos"
Yeah, the store next door is total shit. Cabela's is great, but it's 40 minutes away. There's a place a bit south called Bear Arms which seems pretty reasonable. Fairly large selection and a used-gun rack (which is 80% shotguns) that rotates often.
I just got my first popgun at the gun show this weekend
c-can i be a /k/ommando too (´･ω･`)
lel I just chose something quick. I changed it to something normal.
Damn, I think like 90% of the AZ guys on here are Westside guys between 75th and Dysart.
Yes, join the kik and fb group if you haven't already
OP here, and I'm a fuckup so forgive me. I could have swore I started a "group", but as an anon pointed out, I made a "page" instead. We're going to abort my fuckup and we've made a group this time, please search
AZ /k/omrads group on facebook and add us
Sorry for the fuckup.
Chandler Fag reporting.
Can carpool if we do meetup.
I know good desert shooting spots too.
About to join FB group
"cost" is a relative term. For someone working an hourly job, it may make more sense to spend 20 min driving to SGC and back and spend $15/hr (non-member) than drive 2 hours roundtrip. Then, money you can earn, but time is gone forever. And finally, a closed range is a place where you can just shoot, fast, a lot. Outdoors, and on BA range, you will inevitably lose time to mandatory target setting, walking back and forth, etc. - which adds to "time is money" argument.
OTOH, if you want to relax in the desert and also shoot at your leisure, go for it.
Where is the best/cheapest place in Phoenix to pick up 7.62x39? I'm probably going to order 1000 wolf online but where is a good place not to get fucked in the meantime?
They are firm on the price, and they can't do much about issues arising unless you comeback the next day. However, you can take it apart on the counter, they'll help you give it a look over, and they are generally good about getting functional guns only. Otherwise they are very nice and about 90% sure that one of the guys are a /k/omando.
>SGC is fine as an indoor range
Save your lies for another thread.
I prefer to shoot inna desert rather than put up with SGC's shit.
>shoot inna desert
I didn't say it's /better/ than the desert (which I also much prefer), I just meant that "as a range that's indoors it's pretty okay".
I just wish I didn't have to drive like an hour to get somewhere where I can shoot inna desert.
Last year a /k/amando said he worked there never said who he was. They have a really nice selection but just like Dimond back police Co they're overpriced on their new and used selection and their ammo prices are ridiculous too. Their gunsmith work isn't bad though
/me giggle :)
Yeah, I talked to those dudes as well. I have an impression that there's so much open land around Flagstaff that nobody needs a dedicated range. You need to just know places to shoot and people to borrow guns from. Locals won't tell you anything unless they trust you - who needs problems with LE.
Same thing around Show Low, btw. And I'm sure it's the same way all across rural US.
Neither option is realistic for those living in East Valey - too far.
I've heard good things about Shooter's World as well.
>and give up on being indoors
Not an option for someone that needs to shoot often and a lot.
I was going to buy thousand rounds of 7.62 online so maybe i can save a little bit on shipping and feel better supporting local guys by going to them. But i appreciate the heads up.
i like your style
where in ahwatukee? i'm around the safeway on 48th and elliot. i live in the biscuits building that nobody ever leaves.
here's me in my poorest of the poorfag loadouts
Grabbed the nearest fun, is also for sale if anyone is interested.
I moved here 2 years ago (south Phoenix/Tempe area) and still haven't found a single spot out in the nearby desert/mountains to shoot. Do I really have to drive for 2 hours to find an uninhibited area? Where do you fags shoot?
Also when the fuck are we doing a shootout?
Anyone seen an fnx9 in any local shops? I want one and I want it now.
yeah, i noticed after i posted. i have brought shame onto my czech ancestors.
>still no fucking .22LR anywhere
I hate all the fucking scalper fudds here.
Not that guy, but I'm the one who asked about places to shoot in Flagstaff. Yeah, that's a problem - because if you're a student, /nobody/ knows good places to shoot. They're all just "well go find some land 10 minutes north of X" [Well, will I get buttfucked by local cops?] "Uhh..."
Nobody has definitively shown me any land where I'm able to shoot.
