Buy a triple mag pouch (double stacks, MOLLE) and a SDS FLC II.

people are going to recommend plate carriers, there's merit to it. it's important that you go for the smallest plate carrier you can get, cheap works. We used $15 handmade ones in Afghanistan in 05 and they were perfect.

But if you're not going to buy plates in the future and you secretly know it, then go for lightweight + MOLLE over ALL OTHER DESIGNS. Looking cool doesn't matter. Being realistic does, remember that as you move forward :)

7 rifle mags (210 rounds) is a standard combat load. I usually keep that on my kit and a few spares in an assault pack.
20 mags is only going to weigh you down heavily, the most I've ever carried on-kit on patrol was 15, and that was just because my Platoon SGT was fucking with me.

>>23355338
I like the look, the muzzle flash, and the weight makes it act as a compensator.
>>
>>23355285
Carry 6 mags. 8 at MOST, but it's overkill. Extra mags go in the backpack/ruck.

Also don't forget a "dump pouch" to quickly place empty magazines in as you load fresh ones.

Another good site for legit gear is extremeoutfitters.us

Something other people didn't address about LBE vs PC. I had an LBE set first and then later bought a slick/low profile plate carrier and plates. It works well for choosing between have my my LBE's stuff, armor, and or both. I can even conceivably conceal my armor in a mediocre fashion. I also like bringing my LBE to the range, not to wear, but it has most of the stuff I would use there anyways already packed and I don't have to drag armor there too.

>>23355222
You should make a nametag that says galiLu and use that instead.

>>23355285
6+1 mags is considered the Army's basic combat load. Russians used at least 6 mags worth of ammo according to doctrine. People sometimes carry 11 or 12 on heavier loadouts among some combat arms. I train with 8+1. 2+1 pistol mags is pretty much the max I would ever carry. I generally don't carry a sidearm when I'm training, but the popular trend is to.

>>23355345
Add some water to your gear. Get out there and start using it. See what goes wrong and what you liked and keep on going from there. Check out other people's gear and compare for ideas. You've got a good start so far.

I don't really consider that a sauce, it's just kind of part of the Risotto. It comes from reducing the stock. Sauce really signifies something prepared separately then added.

Never really had a lot of gear but I'm planning on piecing together a setup pretty soon. Any insight or criticism would be appreciated.
>generic battle belt
> ICE tactical suspenders
> either a camelbak h.a.w.g. or m.u.l.e.
And this is where I'm running into trouble. I was leaning towards the mule because I don't have a lot of shit to hump around, plus I'll have room for stuff on the battle belt. But then I'd rather have too much space than not enough so then i thought maybe I'd get the hawg. Anyone have any experience with either pack and how much they can realistically hold? It gives the volume on the website but it's tough to visualize. Also how well would the pack interface with the suspenders and battle belt? I think the mule has tuck away straps to hook on or something. Thanks!
>>
>>23355601
What kind or work are you in?
>>
>>23355652
Skip the belt, keep shit off your hips so you can run. Get a basic chest rig and a back pack. Your a civi, keep it simple, and light, unless you just want the gear for collecting, then go hog wiled.
I would recommend a TAG chest rig, and a sturdy back pack. The pack is for sustainment and the chest rig is for fighting, One can be dropped if needed for speed of movement, and it keeps things simple.
>>
>>23355633
No idea to be honest with you. Stumbled across the upper on the local forums. Threw a tear drop in it and called it a day. No markings other than a "556" on the barrel.
>>
>>23355687
Also forgot to mention, after this, take the cash you were gona drop of fancy gear and buy ammo for your primary so you can practice more. Its the most important part.
>>
>>23355629
From a traditional Sicilian standpoint, you'd prepare the pasta and the sauce in separate containers and then combine the grain and the paste to make a dish, that is still not ready until you pour the remaining sauce over the combination. I would assume the same goes for your filthy northern dish. You would hardly call dry noodles a dish; the sauce is an integral part of the meal, not just something "prepared separately and then added"

Thanks! I've been shooting for a while as well as going innawoods for camping and hunting but I've never really combined the two. I do a lot of trail running too and I'd like to start adding gear weight to my runs so I appreciate the battle belt advice. As far as sustainment, I'm leaning towards the mule to use in conjunction with my m 35 pack from kommando store. Do you think that would be enough or should I still go with the hawg? I'd not likely be out for more than a few days. Think innawoods challenge type things in the summer, spring and fall.

I think that would be enough, depends on what you decide you need to have on you. Main thing is keeping is light. As for the running, get your chest rig (whatever kind you decide on) and put weights or rocks in the pouches when you run to simulate a load out. Also if you dont want to run around town with a rig on for training, get a weight rig, you can find then at fitness stores, just straps to your chest and has small weights for work out purposes.
