When I was in basic, I pulled out the bolt from a rifle, as well as the extractor. Then I came up to my buddy, put a round in front of the bolt (with the firing pin still in), the clipped the round with the extractor and said "lololol this is how it extracts!" while pointing the round, lined up with the firing pin, at his face.
In terms of after training, there really isn't anything. Getting put in a CBRN suit and then having them raise the rod covers and sending us in to "get used to it" is a bit unnerving.
We also frequently storm nuclear powerplants in our country and disable the guards without killing them. This would be all good and dandy IF Tier 1 groups haven't been doing this same thing for decades, so the guard training is improved ten fold.

No. Everything feels horribly procedural. If you know anything about deniable assets, you know the idea is to create a chaotic environment. Except you have practiced in that environment thousands of times. There is virtually no rush unless something goes wrong. Also, it's virtually always overwhelming force.
To give a Tier 2 example - when rangers go in, there is no question to the outcome most of the time. Yes, I know you can list several fuck ups. But those were do to command going through civil approval chain for assets on site.

Ask a JTF2 operator anything.
>>23336765
Nice try. The suit protects from contaminated material - specifically from breathing it in. Of course we are not going to go into the reactor without some degree of lead shielding around it when the cores are exposed. The idea is to approximate an environment where tactical nukes have been set off, as doctrine dictates in a war with China. There are also a number of pills you can take that will absorb radiation to some degree. Finally, we have pills that will actually keep a soldier alive for several hours more than they would have even in sever exposure so they can complete the mission before croaking. As I said, nice try.
>>23336776
We make jack shit for what we do. Think good professional's salary. There are obviously opportunities for side income. Think nuclear materials in a current combat zone and random groups running around there.

>>23342070
>The origin is armed units who can work through any sort of conditions.
My understanding was that the term "operator" as it is used today originated from Vietnam with non SFQC guys being placed into teams because SF was hard up for bodies because SF wasn't very popular an assignment before they became their own CMF in the 80's. The guys that weren't SFQC were called Operators instead of whatever SF job they were supposed to be trained in (even though SFAS and SFQC were really short at the time, something like a week and then two or three months depending on MOS).
So, I'm probably going to get a lot of hate for this analogy, but is Tier 0 basically Rainbow Six/TF141 tier? Like best of the best of the best?
