No image dumping allowed. ITT, we try to actually discuss /k/-related animus.
>What are shows you'd love to watch, but know they're never going to be made?
Also, lately, I've been thinking. Remember that bullshit that went down a little while ago, about fingerprint ID-tagged guns? For those of you that have seen Psycho-Pass, would this be an accurate analogy of the dangers of statism and the lack of the 2nd?
Lack of 2nd didn't really make much of a difference in Psycho-Pass, since those magical helmets let the general populace kill and riot at will.
It's more of a anti-government show, really.
Triangle eyes confirmed for dead sexy
Gun control debate reporting in
I wouldn't say it's solely and focusedly anti-government, though. We're talking about a society that has evrythingn spoonfed to them, and exchanges personal freedoms and rights for safety and "comfort". Which is an example often brought up as /the dystopian future/ in the US. Which is why I brought up the lack of a 2nd, and why I meant it as an analogy.
well considering they say that Japan has cut itself off of the rest of the world and even say that places like the USA are in ruins or struggling to survive, I can see how a system of martial law can be put in place and then expanded to entire government control. Of course this could all be fabricated in order to keep the people in line. But considering they are entirely self sufficient, id say that this system may actually be the best for them.
Dude's clearly a novice, probably never cleaned the thing. Besides, mechanical failures can, and do happen.
So I've seen pictures of Psycho Pass with detailed guns in it. Is it particularly good or shitty like Upotte?
In the mean time here's a nice pic of the girls from Jormungand, except Hex unfortunately.
I'm in the process of watching it and so far I've only seen one kind of actual firearm, an over and under shotgun. Granted I'm barely halfway in so there's probably more down the road
Psycho Pass isn't like Upotte at all. It's more like Minority Report crossed with Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep (Blade Runner). Basically what you might get if Philip K Dick wrote an anime.
Though I have only watched the first season.
Psycho Pass really doesn't go into detail about any modern guns. I wouldn't consider it a /k/ series very much, but I think it serves as a great example of problems in Big Brother controlling smartguns.
>TFW no Harkconnen Cannon GF
Well I also remember seeing that super detailed SP101 in another thread.
>two of my favorite pieces of fiction blended into moe grills
Damn shame about this >>23203144 though.
As these guys have said.
It's set in a Dystopian future, with very few firearms in sight. There's the Dominator guns, an O/U Shotgun, and a dude running through revolver reload drills for about 5 seconds.
Worth a watch, but not terribly /AK/.
> complete mechanical failure
What in the actual fuck.
>TFW this figurine is out of print
>TFW they now go for $300+
That is Triela from Gunslinger Girl.
Honestly, the first season was kind of whack, and the second season's QC clearly went in the shitter.
There were like 1-2 gunfights total in season 1, it seemed.
>tfw buying her was so fucking worth it
>tfw can't find Henrietta
Most of the only guns you see are egdelord transforming cgi robocop pistols. So no.
Not necessarily a bad anime but I dont know why everyone thinks its /k/ related. Just because guns are present at one point or another doesnt make an anime /k/.
Agreed. However if more Jor. was to be produced I think it would have to take place as a prequel. Adding more to the main arc would ruin it since the stoey is over. You know it to be true
Well, to be fair, this is a general /ak/ discussion thread. OP just threw an idea out there.
We can talk about the lack of air combat animus, or how there's too many cute girls doing cute war things, and not war animes doing war stuff.
Not necessarily. It could take place in those 4 years Jonah wasn't with the squad. Maybe back to its original "monster of the week" type arcs, but maybe with a bit more SOL operatorness. I really would like to see the kind of shit he and Chiquita got into while following Kasper's ass all through Asia.
>we can talk about the lack of air combat animes
That would open the literal box of cats known as Strike Witchs. Lets not.
Instead lets discuss what your ideal /k/ related anime would be. Special forces lonewolf like GiTS? Geopolitical like Jormungand? Lolis with guns like Upotte?
"/k/ themes" are so broad though. That being said I do agree with you however things like Hellsing and Psycho Pass just dont seem /k/ to me because the guns and combat is only ever an accessory that doesnt have anything to do directly with more weapons related themes, if that makes sense. Just my two cents.
I want a SOL special forces type animu. Maybe even mixed in with some geopolitical shit like Jormungand
>Animu about Delta helping coordinate airstrikes in Syria. Maybe some covert ops with the Kurds, or some shit.
>Instead of a beach episode, a "lazy weekend" episode where we see the lives of our operator heroes when they're not deployed
>Include a badass qt3.14 operator chick because this is an animu. Make her have nice abs, and a heavy drinker.
[spoiler]I don't know. I just don't want this thread shitposted to hell, so let's just pretend PP is /k/ related, and talk about cool cyberpunk gear and how warfare might be in those times.[spoiler]
I could go for that. Monster of the week might get stale without an overarching plot but I could go for maybe a season of it, especially if it focused on the operators like Chiquita.
An animu about operators operating operationally in Africa, counter-poaching measures. Maybe make it go full chaos and anarchy, with Far Cry 2+3 type jungle cray cray shenanigans
>Oh shit, niggers are trying to steal all dem babby tigers
>Better remove them fast
>Oh shit, firefight in tall grass
>Velociraptor-style shenanigans ensue and someone decided to pull out a flaregun and set the savannah on fire
SSS watches like an hour and a half long episode of SAC. Not really remarkable. Second movie is good if you haven't seen it though. Arise is pretty much if you took the original GiTS movie and made it in 2014. So moe out the ass and generally shit.
As for recommendations, try out some of the Appleseed movies. A couple good series are Gunslinger Girls (minus second season) and Gunsmith Cats.
Well, remember that in those four years, the world gravitates to a global war-climate, with practically every continent engaged in some sort of fighting. Maybe leading up to that? It's not like Kasper's an arms dealer or anything, so it's not like he could be fueling and getting involved in some of the MAJOR political aspects of those wars
>Maybe even have an arc where they're in Ukraine, arming the rebels and the Russians alike. Then get caught and have to haul ass, and encounter some Russian spec ops, a la Night Nine in Cuba
There is probably a LN out there that like this waiting for an adaption.
I can't tell if your willfully blind.
> I wanna see more qt Koko sell shit to Revy
I want to see Koko get gunned down within a week of implementeing her retarded plan, like she really wood, and then Casper taking a giant shit on her retarded memory by undoing everything she tried to accomplish via selling more guns.
Nice, nice, full on damage control.
Look at that picture, closely because you're a retard I know that doesn't want to accept he's wrong, and his anime is shit. It's okay, I can show you with a simple sentence.
IT FUCKING HAS RAILS IT IS NOT A XM177 KIDDO
I want to see the ending disowned and unpersoned and replaced with Koko either commiting suicide out of despair after talking her plan out with Casper (she knows it won't work and hates the world so she figures fuck it), or resigns herself due to the pointlessness of it all and raising Jonah.
Posting pictures of a Colt Commando doesn't prove shit.
What you think I don't know what a fucking XM177 looks like?
You're wrong, and your anime is shit for putting an M16A2 (Look at the rails jesus christ you god damn retard) in a vietnam era.
But alas, i'm spergging.
So, how shit is the Kancole adaptation going to be? Aside from squid girl what has the studio done of note?
That's true. I guess it's more like a modern and Japanese version of 1984. You can go to jail for your thoughts and people are very careful to keep up appearances.
There's one gentleman hunter with an O/U shotgun which is the focus of a few "The Most Dangerous Game"-type episodes, and one of the characters gets a very detailed Ruger SP101, from which exactly 7 shots are fired.
It's a 1/10 on gun porn but a 8/10 overall.
>being a fucking rich ass arms dealer who travels war zones
>she din know nuffin
I think she was trying for a Watchmen approach, i.e. bring down all the planes in the world but no one knows who the hell did it so the world's militaries are super cautious and won't sortie any more missions.
Still a really dumb ending, though.
Forgot about that. That would work too, Jonah killing Koko because she's fucking insane and then dieing from retaliation shots. Hell it'd even be a happy ending because Jonah would know he did something good against a force he hated (stopping one of the biggest arms dealers in the business).
>Also, Chiquita a best
My negro. Chiquita and Jonah OTP
Also /ak/ threads without images are pretty harsh and long.
Why not at least posting a pic with your post?
No, fuck off.
Probably because every fucking past ak thread has just been one fucking faggot dumping images and no discussion taking place. This thread has been great so far, dont fuck it up. Some of us have the mental facilities to make discussion without needing anime boobies every five seconds.
>>No, fuck off.
>posting a pic
I don't get the joke
He would become swiss cheese, everyone would split, never contact each other again and do their best to forget about everything.
Thoughts on this animu, now that it's over?
Doesn't have much gunslinging, but I think there are a lot of relevant themes.
Avatar, except no faggot hippy turncoats, all the soldiers are genetically modified cute girls, and they blast Steppenwolf, CCR, and Buffalo Springfield while shooting jungle aliens.
MC would be a straight laced journo embedded into a platoon conducting guard duties on a resource extraction site.
Staying alive after being cut off from supply shipments and enduring constant raids by alien insurgents.
ww1 type, mostly taking place in frontline trenches
a russian squad, burly soldiers are replaced with cute girls
ww1, but with girls toughing it out in trenches. focuses on one squad of 4-5 girls. squad leader survives enough to go back to motherland, and fights against the reds in the revolution.
It shall be bourgeois Z
Its okay anon, this threads going pretty well, Im happy with it.
Fuck that, just an anime of Generation Kill would kick ass
>Rudy is mai waifu
I am a Hero done in an OVA format similar to what they did to Hellsing.
>Story about a little orphaned girl who picks up a rifle and tries to survive amidst the flames of the battlefield
>War-themed SOL. Mostly focusing on her survival, and the shit she sees. Good and bad on both sides. Chaos, suffering, loss. No agenda-focused or anything, just the story of what she encounters and seeing the world through her eyes.
>Ends in her suicide after an awry bombing incident
A better idea.
She gets picked up by Red Cross/insert charity organization here/etc and gets adopted by some well meaning but clueless WASP family in Middle America.
PTSD flashbacks in school, CQC-ing bullies, and going full VC inna backyard.
Yea, that's what I had in mind for that. Maybe grinning as she's reaching for her sidearm and mutters in a blood-gurgling croaky voice "war n-never changes"
>Gunshot sound, cut to black
Taxi Driver meets Collateral.
>Generic Stinking Shit Pile of a City #243
>MC is a freakish loner that got denied military service for some reason. Social interaction puts so much stress on him his hair is turning grey VERY early, but he's stuck in the city due to economic conditions. He's got an also introverted female friend who is somehow not connected romantically (he's friendzoned or she's a lesbian, I can't decide). She serves as the angel on his shoulder
>The plot will focus on his steady degradation into a vigilante and hit man. Angry at society and hateful of people, he decides to stop trying to hold down a steady job and starts developing underground contacts after a few controlled bursts of vigilantism (graduating from street scum to more political targets). From there he goes from a lone wolf to working for some organization like the government or the mob.
That's all I've got off the top of my head.
Present day United States of America.
Main character is mid thirties, bearded, serious-faced man that looks like your average car mechanic or construction worker. He has a bit of a beer belly, doesn't look or act super smart, special, or interesting. Supporting cast is a somewhat rag-tag band of mid-twenties men, a few women, and a little girl. He selects them for their capabilities of course, but more for what they're willing to do in a moral way.
Our main character assembles a team of specially selected mercenaries to form a task force capable of performing surgical strikes for cover-up operations, assassinations, general PMC work; however they specialize in tasks deemed "unsavory" for any actual army. The basic plot is that they are good guys that do terrible things to achieve a goal; they are the epitome of "the ends justify the means". Conflicts arise between characters that deal with what they have to do, and employers that disagree with the methods used by this band of Merry Men, along with the difficulties in the jobs (gunfights, etc).
It would be called "A Gray World".
Only the CIA knew, and they wouldn't publically admit to the world that a dangerous master hacker of quantum computers was kidnapped from them and that they're the cause of the plane-dropping shitstorm.
Russia in the late 90's.
MC is a Soviet Afghanistan War vet who one day decides to adopt a bunch of little girls, and train them to help him in his job as assassin for a shadowy mafia group.
The MC witnesses his employers engage in human trafficking, selling sex slaves, and making snuff films.
Due to his adopted loli helpers softening his heart, and helping him find his conscience again, he decides to blow the lid on the operation.
He and his assistants must oper8 their way to the airport, so they can start a new life somewhere else.
Slav shit, tracksuits, Lada's, and grey Moscow weather ensue.
Yeah, but not so big and muscular. More like a Clint Eastwood that's a little pudgier.
Personality wise, it would be somewhat similar to Lehm, but when you think he's boring and dim-witted, he turns around and comes out with a devious plan. He doesn't look threatening, but he's the kind to talk about his daughter (when he doesn't have one) when you mention yours, just so you'll smile and look to your wallet for a picture so he can rip your throat out with an FS dagger.
>Suburbs of California
>Crime is increasing

>Goes shooting and buying and outfitting his gear in secret.
>One day saves a woman on the street after going back home from Innawoods
>becomes a vigilante, fully embracing his midlife crisis

>They do crazy shit, pissing off local gangs and mafias
>His family life crumbles
>Develops a temper

>Him and edgelord take out a prominent politician
>Dorner/Frein shenanigans ensue
>Crazy life or death innawoods action as they retire to their hidden lair
>shootouts with the cops
>edgelord gets clapped
>He survives and escapes into the mountains
>nearly dies, and has to fight off a cougar, strangling it to death
>story ends as he either dies of something, or tries to escape to Mexico
I'd like to see something essentially like an /ak/ version of Generation Kill. Liked that show a lot.
One of the obvious issues with anime is that they're slowly becoming happy-shit schoolgirl shows that have harem-shits in them.
Where did all the good ones go.
That fucking scenery porn promised me so much. That PV. Those aesthetics. Then fucking bullshit. It could've been a great story, taking on a more military cyberpunk route. But nope. Cute girls with magic-SCIENCE powers.
Also that B2.
Pic 4 u
In other news...
The fuck is wrong with this thread.
How about an anime set in Africa, in the 60s? It'd be about mercenaries in the Congo Crisis and maybe for season 2/OVA about Biafra, leading into Rhodesian Bush War. Except in this universe, women participated in combat at a rate similar to men, like 60:40 in favor of men.
MC is a merc from your favorite Western country, she's a WWII vet and ended up in the Congo with a PMC consisting of cute girls doing cute things.
Base some of their missions on what actual mercs like Mike Hoare did in the Congo, not a copy, but a nice aside for people who know about the real events. By season 2/the OVA, MC and whatever breakout characters that aren't dead end up in Biafra fighting the Nigerians. Maybe a third OVA with a breakout character, maybe the MC in Rhodesia fighting Mugabe.
The Rhodie segments will show how Rhodesia actually was, not Mugabe's lies about "Oh, white Rhodies so racist, mush worse than South Africa despite no Apartheid!!!" Maybe have the character from the first series retire to Rhodesia and set up a farm, and then have it raided and burnt down, forcing them to go back to war. Kind of a "they keep pulling me back in" thing.
Of course there will be FALs everywhere.
End of the Vietnam War
Some American soldiers and a few South Vietnamese civilians
When the NVA decides to overrun South Vietnam after the Paris Peace Accords, a tight-knit group of American "advisors" must fight their way out of the chaos and to safety.
It would start with the group making good progress getting to an LZ with minor contact over the first couple of episodes, but then the US soldiers come across civilians and South Vietnamese Army groups who need help pushing back the NVA.
The soldiers then need to make a decision whether or not to do the right thing and help out, or keep moving to safety.
I worked at as a NA consultant in a modelling agency in japan a few years back, and I met some LN writers that had been contacted about anime deals in the past. Apparently the chances of getting your media made into an anime in japan isn't even dependant on quality or sales.
>Where did all the good ones go.
80's/90's japan had a shit ton of money going around with the economy sitting on a bubble. You could get anything adapted with minimal fuss and hence stuff like Legend of the Galactic Heroes could get made into a 110 direct to sale OVA's eps with minimal fanservice shit.
Nowadays the economy is less bright and the formula now is to survive by using fanservice and well-worn cliches to chase a competetive otaku community along with conventional viewers. Unless you make 3k DVD/BD preorders your unlikely to survive another adaptation unless your hitched to another franchise like a game or previously successful season.
The cute girls part is optional, but without it, you're not going to get your anime made. Have some teasing for the harem/yuri fans and bam, you've got funding for an African merc/Rhodie anime!
Pretty much just Sora no Woto but with all the moeshit aspects cut out. The episode with actual fighting (Episode 7 I think) was actually kinda well done. I think that animu had so much potential to be /k/ but it wasted it all on moeshit. Those uniforms doe
Episode 7 was the best.
Only the final climax comes equal.
If only there was a way to sidestep the cute girls part and have a masculine main theme...
nigga thats gay
Lets take the MGS route and have an equal amount of cute girls and cute boys.
I don't see whats so hard.
Have your character designer draw cute girls, and attractive men.
Give each a good amount of screentime, and keep the fanservice subtle.
>No image dumping allowed. ITT, we try to actually discuss /k/-related animus.
haha, it's that faggot.
Not really. Iunmind the other threads most of the time, but I actually want to try and discuss things for once. It's going by fine so far, so please don't shit it up. Why not try to contribute to the thread instead of shitposting?
Your going to need 2 different gendered leads with no steady romantic link and nearly double the archtypes to keep everyone happy. Evangelion pulled it off (its been 10+ years and people still ague over Red and Blue and ShinjixKaworu still sells) but its tricky to pull off right.
Also, fuck off, cunt. You are literally why these threads are shit. Not because "muh cute animu girls". Not because "Oh, fucking weebs, get off mah site". No, it's because of fucks like you shitting up good, productive posts for no real reason other than to be a fucking cunt.
I can actually see this working out better as a game, to be honest. Maybe through in some survival and navigation/open world mechanics so it's not linear as fuck but sounds great.
Sure. The beginning of it is the backstory of the main antagonist, the main antagonist being an orphan girl from Vietnam. The story is that her mother and father were dutch colonists that were killed by the Vietcong in the early days of the Vietnam war. She manages to escape her parents plantation and survive in the jungle for a year before succumbing and collapsing in a road however she's found by a squad of US Rangers and brought back to base. It differs from anons story in that instead of going to school and leading a semi normal life, she's trained by the rangers and used by the base commander in false flag attacks on the ARVN and civilians in order to keep America in the war.
I never understood why they didn't give her a hysterectomy. I mean, she's a cyborg assassin with a short lifespan, why did they decide to leave her uterus in?
Perhaps the manga has an explanation, I'm going to start it after mid terms are over.
I just want a good animu with about pilots and planes.
Fictional Earth, super powers are in total war.
70's or 80's level tech.
The pilots, from all sides.
Fictional Earth for more freedom to make the political situation whatever, but tech is still real. Some level of science fiction would be ok, but nothing too far fetched.
Its not very good but the fans are starved so theyre eating it up
Cyberpunk anime died because the genre as a whole died. Its possible we're seeing a resurgence in cyberpunk videogames and movies that are coming out but anime isnt there yet.
What I'd like to see, along with the /k/ suggested Vietnam anime ideas, is an Afghan War anime with all the glorious Slavshit and Afghankas.
If an original anime wouldn't work, perhaps a Black Lagoon OVA about Balalaika in Afghanistan. Or maybe just have 4 or so episodes dealing with her from deployment to her becoming a mob boss. I don't know.
That pic is retarded. Why do the US get the SCAR when only special forces use it and other countries have older weapons. Why does France have a smg rather than a MAS49/56 semi auto rifle like Germany and Russia? Why are Japs so retarded?
Bullshit. It's fucking cancer. Nothing /k/-related. It's even more loosely related than Psycho-Pass, and we could at least have a discussion of that. Fuck off.
I would watch the shit out of that in a second. I'm super hyped for MGSV's Afghanistan section, and can't wait to act out so many animu war fantasies there.
>an attempt at realistic portrayal of firearms
Meanwhile I actually own firearms and happen to be posting on a firearms board. That is not special. In fact its retarded. Why does tracing a SCAR automatically make that image /k/ related?
Tacking guns on images of school girls does not make something /k/ related. We're actually diacussing anime that actually has to do with the people using weapons that are /k/ related and stories that are /k/ related and you think if a 10 year old japanese schoolgirl is holding a gun that it id /k/ related.
I want a realistic tank anime. Not shit like Gundam as what it is now. I'm talking a group of scruffy conscripts serving as a frontline group of expendable armor, with more realistic designs.
I would totally watch a frontline tank anime, then you had to go and say you mean fucking mech.
>mechs are more like tanks than just mobile suits
No, they're fucking not, there is no niche for mecha and they are their own classification. They aren't like anything.
I have posted this before on some "oc" plot thread (can't remember if it was on /a/ or /lit/, but it was well received so /a/ is more likely):
The setting's a not-so-far future where the world is divided by three nations:
>The Ordos, where the state is the center of all decisions including your job, hobbies, and who you will marry, all decided by the head-of-state super AI;
>The Collective, which is a representative-democracy where all sub-nation elect their respective members of the High Council to pursue their interest;
>The Free, a anarchic land where the only choices are made by the individuals themselves, there is no police or public services as there is no state, yet there are both capitalistic "private security/health/entertainment" conglomerates and communes of people who divide labor amongst their members, the land is in a constant fluid state of change.
The protagonist is the son of a late representative of The Collective which was assassinated after being found to be working as a spy/instigator for The Ordos, tying to expand their influence, his surviving family is then exiled to The Free lands. He lives a life of low wealth in one of the communes along with his mother, older brother and younger sister.
It all changes when his brother, who had then set out to work as a mercenary goes missing, and a cartel appears at the family household claiming he ran off with money and documents from a takeover on a competitors bank as the safe was full of "sensitive info" on something very red tape for them, as the mercenaries threaten to kill the entire family, the protagonist promises to join their search party as a collateral and leverage and the rest of the family is left alone in exchange.
Calm down, anon. Just throwing my ideas. Besides, they may as well be tanks at that point, anyway. I just figured mechs cause they're the closest thing to tanks in anime that aren't GuP tanks, you know?
As the protagonist travels with his new companions he witnesses many sides of the land, from villages dedicated to subsistence where things may seem peaceful and tranquil but hold many dark secrets, such as forced breeding and village heads tyrannical abuses, paramilitary complexes which are supplied with child-soldiers from enslaved families and mass-raping to generate more recruits, huge manors of wealthy men who run cartels and claim to be bringing order to the chaos of The Free by controlling the cycle of supply and demand from the services provided, the weapons and recruits and as the protagonist discovers from the occasional drunken stupors of his companions the communes themselves as the villagers often comply in fear and greed.
As he is about to lose all hope and is now understanding why his brother did what he did the party is ambushed by a group of trained soldiers an all but the protagonist survive. He is taken captive and dragged to an interrogation cell, after much suffering and what appears to be meaningless questions he is confronted by one of their leaders, his brother, who claims to have discovered something that would completely destroy the illusion of understanding the state the world is in...
>mfw imagining cute anime girl versions of Travis Haley and Chris Costa as they went back and forth joke bickering after shooting stuff
His brother releases him and claims the debriefing was needed for security reasons as the group he belongs to now called The Seekers is being actively persecuted by nearly all interest groups. The documents he had stumbled upon in the safe during the raid were none other that those their father secured during his covert ops, the ones that lead him to his demise.
The Ordor had tipped their father off to a connection between various political parties of The Collective and the many bank and cartels of The Free, as not only fronts for money-laundering and shadow accounts originating from the embezzelment of public money, but also providing campaign funds with the profit from proxy-wars and control over the supposedly anarchic land. As he tried to go public and gain the favor of the people to mobilize against the corrupt, and also by that further solidify his position on The Collective's political scenario he was betrayed by the very people which supplied the information, The Ordo merely used him as a diplomatic exchange for a political hostage and warmer relations with the democracy.
Sounds unnecessarily complicated and I dont really see how it's /k/ related. Then again maybe it's the way you're posting the summary.
Because mechs are completely impractical war machines that often tried to get justified with an infinitely spiraling number of pointless useless or redundant fictional systems which are in turn further argued to death until the thread 404s at maximum posts on page zero.
Yes yes yes
>take my money
There should be two women:
Older, mature, busty brunette, warm brown eyes, cunning, savvy, attracted to him sexually, possibly involved with Bosnians, carries a small side arm, knows how to use it, owns the building he lives in
Blue-eyed, blonde, young, new to city, accent, perhaps Polish, no idea the shit pile she just stepped in, friendzones Hero Protagonist, works at a popular club as a singer, being pursued by a loud, greasy, pasty, flabby bankster named Joshua Goldmanberger who orders bottles every other night, does coke and synthetics, tries to get her drugged up, and can't wait to cum on her face and in her bloody anus as soon as he can
Well, I didn't make it /k/ related because I posted it on /a/ or /lit/, but rest assured if I ever did put some effort into making it a full novel it would be 100% /k/. I get hard just fro thinking about all the necessary gun specs and their full application on the narrative, sucks that I'm a lazy slob who can only get shit done on sporadic inspiration...
Well yea, obviously. But this is anime we're talking about. Mechs are there just because they're cool, and I figured a SOL about a mech battalion or whatever would be interesting. But sure, whatever. Let's just drop it. Don't want to shit up the thread
>implying people who dislike Anime are underaged kids and people who like it are adults
But if you are NEETs who enjoy Madoka Magica I can understand it but will not tolerate it on /k/, so won't many people.
That's why you should always differ /ak/ from /a/. If you are able to have the very same discussion on /a/, than take it to /a/. Use /k/'s advantages, not as a second shitty /a/.
Weapon related discussions: cool
Muh waifu: fuck off
That's why many people dislike /ak/ threads. Not because of the image dumps but because of the fags who want to discuss off topic shit.
I like /ak/ theads and I always liked them, but they slowly turn to something bad
>That's why many people dislike /ak/ threads. Not because of the image dumps
That's exactly why people dislike /ak/ threads you autistic nigger. They have nothing to do with /k/ most of the time. Following your own logic they should be posted on /c/ not /k/, the cute girls are always the focus, rarely the guns.
you're right, there's no way to win against shitposters.
So /k/, here's another question to stimulate discussion.
What is your favorite firearm portrayed in anime? If your favorite gun isn't in an anime, what is it and why would you love to see it in one?
For me it's the Stechkin APS. It's a cool gun and has a lot of applications but is rarely seen.
>it's trying to be realistic
In what fucking way? How are moe anime schoolgirls with guns realistic in any way? Why are they even holding the guns? It seems to have some relation to nations and guns that have been produced in it but I can't even tell where it's going with that, they might as well have just slapped flags on their sleeves according to what guns they were using.
Serious and dark setting
Not more than 2 girls, no waifu material
Fight for something important (freedom, rights, the truth) like in a thriller movie or Tom Clancy book.
I'd say my favorite anime gun (not gun in anime), would be Jonah's FNC in Jormungand. Sexy as hell. The guns in that show were nicely animated for what it was.
>No gif cause mobile
>inb4 Upotte Funko
I've got a full script for a six-episode Material Sniper miniseries.
If there's one wealthy /k/ommando who's got about a million bucks to spare, we can have the DVD in Target by this time next year.
I was unemployed for a couple of months last year and once you've posted your 50th resume there wasn't all that much else to do.
No uploading sorry I'm out of town on my phone right now, but enjoy a pic of Iris.
My favorite gun is never used in anything and the only time it is even remotely depicted in is as a single player only weapon in one single Call of Duty game, playable in only 2 missions.
My second favorite gun is shown to be a long ranged sniper rifle even when it isn't suppose to engage targets past 4-500 meters.
Most annoying anime gun cliche?
>Revy shoots up everyone with no problem.
>Encounters plot-significant character, can't shoot 'm up no problem
>"Damn, he's strong"
>Proceeds to run around, jumping everywhere, missing every shot as they're prancing around within a 10yd range, maybe only grazing a cheek with a bullet.
Same shit happened with Night Nine in Jormungand. Why?
Alternatively, favorite gun cliche
Coppelion's not bad, provided you can accept that it's not STALKER: Shadow of Fukushima. Unfortunately not many people can.
Panties, asses, guns, and airplanes galore. Made by the same guy who did Aika, so you know he loves his /k/ and his asses.
I have the DVDs. Not the special edition box that comes with real panties though.
>Taxi Driver meets Collateral.
that sounds like the shit
add in a little deathwish and now its epic
somehow add in some "western" elements and its now a work of art
>Aftermath of WW2
>Soviets establish a People's vampire hunting group to hunt down nazi vampires and other supernatural bullshit for Soviet interests as they cannot rely on the various religious groups to do so
>main character goes from young motivated hero of the Union to an old bitter, forgotten and disillusioned veteran in the 90s
>supporting cast consists of the other hunters with various funny and questionable quirks
>Conflict comes from all the super natural stuff they have to fight
>the competition from other groups such as the allies
>the harsh reality of Soviet power play and that in the end it was all bullshit and the Soviets had their own cabinet of super natural assholes all along
>eventually it all falls apart along with the Union and endings vary from bitter to bitter sweet
I say nay. This was a fun, worthwhile thread. We got past the shitposting, and managed to get some good stuff out of it. But I think we should let it die quietly, and with dignity. No need to force it again, and lift up some unnecessary dust. With that, shitposting follows. Don't worry, anon. Time will come for another good /ak/ thread.
Agreed. No need to have a shit ton of these.
Really we should all agree to a day to have these so they dont get out of control and lose quality. Lots of content specific threads on /v/ and /pol/ do that.
We should also keep the hostility towards the usual shitposters like JMB.
Setting: Post WWII Japan, late 40s after Operation Downfall, the Soviets invaded the North and hold Hokkaido and the Northwestern third of Honshu and set up a Communist puppet dictator. Communist North Japan and Capitalist South Japan with a DMZ like Korea.
MC is a human smuggler who gets people across the border since the Soviets and US established the border. It's become more difficult to get people past the border guards.
On one of his missions, he is sold out by one of his contacts and is captured by the Communist Japanese. He's put in a camp and interrogated off and on. He meets up with another contact in the camp and they plan their escape.
I think the setting would be like Jin-Roh without the power armor and Slavshit instead of Krautshit. The plot would be kind of like The Great Escape.
I say leave'em up to Fortuna, it's not he first thread and won't be the last, no need to give shitposters any concrete string to follow. Don't worry we'll have good times once more fellow Anon.
I'm with you.
As long as they aren't being spammed every day, /ak/ threads have the capability to be decent.
>leave them up to fortuna
That's great, except that means we're gonna see a thread every time some shitter decides he wants one, and it will be shit up because only shitters are around for it.
If we pick a day we can at least bitch at the people who arent epic oldfags like us and dont know the rules of what makes a good /ak/ thread.
/k/ is somewhat inherently shielded from shitters, but fixed dates and times are always liabilities in security. That said, I'll only join if I see good /ak/ threads and will completely ignore shit ones so I'm game either way.
Replace Roberta's blood trail with a story arc about balalaika and hotel Moscow fulfilling their dream of fighting US special forces
>there is nothing to drown out shitty trips
Seeing it that way, I change my position, fixed ties and dates are the perfect bait for shitty trip so they can be purged and filtered, I'm in.
So should we decide on mondays then? I'd be down for that, as long as people don't pull shit like "it's monday in australia" and have three solid days of threads
They, for the most part aren't using real weaponry (and are fairly surprised to come across firearms that rely on on more traditional firing methods and ammunition).
The only weapons I recall seeing were a shotgun and a revolver.
