>As if the political cartoons on our side are much better
Political cartoons use hyperbole and appeals to emotion while oversimplifying issues, ignoring or making fun of the opposing side rather than confronting it and refuting it, and being poorly drawn and unfunny.

Political cartoons are for people who don't want to make decisions for themselves and their creators are scum for profiting from a venture which contributes absolutely nothing to society.

The suicide one is kind of true, I think it's something like one in five or one in three gun-related deaths are suicides. A lot of the time, if a person doesn't have a convenient way of committing suicide, then they won't. It sounds like bullshit but I promise it's true; the vast majority of the time even a minor inconvenience is enough to stop a person from killing themselves.

>The NRA likes to talk about its work as the defense of American freedom. Recognize that, depending on the audience, both sides of the debate have the opportunity to claim moral authority. But, don’t yield that ground. Fight for it by emphasizing that a reckless disregard for the gun violence that plagues so many people’s lives is morally bankrupt and doesn’t have anything to do with protecting freedom.

1) richfags and investment fags want the new machine guns. They want F/A scars. They want F/A new manufacture m16 lowers, ect. They need a way to loophole them in.

2) Poorfags want more older shit on the market, and they want a it a little more cheap.

so, my college is scheduled to have a lockdown today. they are requesting that everyone on campus "conceal" themselves. I think it's fairly obvious that it's a simulation of what to do in the event of a shooter on campus. the whole idea of being forced under my desk to think about the possibilities really bugs me. it feels like fear mongering. I've decided not to participate. I'm hoping that campus police doesn't take issue with it, but I'm prepared to stand my ground if they do. I just don't want to contribute to the culture of fear regarding what is such an incredibly rare situation.

Recently some faggot who owns a bunch of F/As and didn't want their value to plummet reported this shit to the ATF because he has friends who worked there.

Since then, the ATF has been rejecting all Form 1's for MGs within a few days, and sending out letters to people who have gotten their Form 1 approved to send it back, essentially "because we said so."

Form 1's used to take months to get approved or denied, but they've upped their shit recently and the Form 1's aren't being sent to the standard people who evaluate them.

There's a pro-2nd amendment law firm that's been getting everyone who has sent in Form 1s to contact him, and especially those who have had their Form 1's approved, and super especially the ones who have used the tax stamp to make an MG already.
He's getting prepared to file a lawsuit against the ATF in regards to the full-auto ban being unconstitutional, and he's also going to be challenging the Constitutionality of the NFA in general.

Op's pic is just repeating the same thing over and over. Four of the six "facts" are the same suicide stats viewed from different perspectives.

Yes it is true that in America guns are the preferred suicide tool. 49% use guns compared to 38% that chose hanging. The remainder use pills or poison.

In Japan jumping in front of trains occurs 1500% more often than it does in America. They also use dangerous homebrew chemicals (H2S, chlorine gas, etc) far more often than Americans. Train suicides disrupt commuters and chemical gas methods endanger neighbors and rescue workers.

Rather than ban trains, Japan brought in legislation that would fine the families of victims for the disruption the suicides caused. These fines are costly enough to shame the potential suicide victim into choosing another method.

tl;dr

Guns are more popular tools for suicide just like guns are more popular than shovels when it comes to killing your wife. The real question should be "why are people killing themselves or killing their wives in the first place"?

The antis are obsessed with blending firearm statistics with suicide and domestic violence statistics. They are clouding the important issue and ignoring the victims.

These are not uniquely America social problems and they are not linked to guns in other countries. Domestic violence in particular is far worse in developing countries and it often goes unreported.

Lately I have been using this argument with the antis. Accuse them of ignoring the plight of female victims worldwide and only focusing on victims that fit their own firearm agenda. Claim they only care about white middle class American women who live in the suburbs, the ones who die when their restraining order couldn't save them from a dangerous ex.

Here's the thing, most gun deaths are suicides. OP is true. Having guns in the house makes new statistically likely that you'll be injured or killed by a gun. I think about these things bc I have little ones in the house, and I take steps to mitigate those risks.

Bottom line, gun owners aren't doing themselves any favors by mocking OP's pic, an acknowledging that guns are dangerous doesn't mean you don't have a right to own oneor that you're irresponsible for doing so.

>your brain is your greatest weapon. Use it and you won't have to be afraid to go outside without a weapon

If my brain is my greatest weapon, and if I use it I don't be afraid to go outside without a weapon, does that mean I leave my brain inside? Do I never go outside? Do I go outside and not be afraid that I left my brain inside? If Tyrone, Jamal, and Damarcus show up to play the knockout game, will I use the powers of my brain that I left inside to defeat them with telekinesis? I used my brain and don't have a weapon. How far does my brain work? Do I need to be within 50 feet? 100 feet? Can I leave it in my car? What if TK and Oranjello break into my house, can I be afraid then? Is that when I can use my greatest weapon?

I need to lie down

Remember friends, it is always darkest before dawn. This country will burn until the cancer that has taken root in it's heart is erased. Only then will America will rise again.

The signal will be given and the feds and their corporate masters will know fear like the very ones they so callously abused and threw away.

heh. the next 5 years are going to be fun.

The people who would eat that shit up already think full autos are legal and that AR-15s are assault rifles. People are fucking stupid.

It doesn't matter what the media says at this point. There's already such a huge amount of gun owners and the support for the 2nd amendment has only been growing.

The people who eat that shit up also supported the handgun ban in DC. The supreme court overruled it and the people who supported it pretty much shut the fuck up.

And if they refuse to accept trusts, it won't just be full autos that have more legal ground, the entire NFA will be as well because the defense provided by the US as to the NFA constitutionality was that NFA items weren't in common use by either the military or civilians, and it's federally legal because it's only a tax. If they refuse trusts, there's a fuck-ton of evidence that it's being used to restrict people's rights. Not only that, but NFA items are in common use by the military, and therefore are appropriate for militia use.

God you people are depressing. Go read "the Emperor Has No Clothes" if you're too dense to understand how political satire works, or why it has a place in the democratic process (I mean, it's only been a part of politics FOREVER, but I suppose we should listen to you instead).

But frankly, I can understand why. There's not a single conservative who has a funny bone in their body. Fucking Dennis Miller's last special was disappointing, and I loved him in the 90's. But to paraphrase his routine, "hurr, Al Gore is a liberal weenie who loves the earth!" is not comparable to fucking anything on the Daily Show. Or even the new SNL (let alone the old).
>>
>>23153313
Problem is satire is a term that has been dragged through the mud, shit, and liberals. It no longer means anything anymore.

It's like you hate free speech or something (oh yeah, because a lot of you do). Seriously, the right is the most die-hard about what people have to believe and aren't allowed to believe, if they want to be a part of their little clique. Liking guns doesn't mean you're pro freedom.
>>
>>23150998

The point of gun control is to take away guns, so they don't want to find out why people are killing themselves and other people and stop the real problem.

You see this shit all the time, when they pull out the "if it saves one life it is worth it". They want to pass magazine capacity limits, detachable magazine bans, and semi-auto rifle bans, because if it has a possibility of saving lives its worth it. They're acknowledging that people will still die, but they argue that if one or two less people die the bans are OK. If they put the same effort into actually stopping violence they may get somewhere, but the point is to take away guns, not stop violence.

What not to say
>"There’s a clear body of research demonstrating the high social cost of gun violence.”
>"Our experience promoting gun violence prevention measures in Congress and state legislatures has been that we always run into a brick wall of opposition built by the NRA."
>"It has long been established in law that, outside the home, a person has a ‘duty to retreat’ from a confrontation if he or she can do so safely.”
What to say
>"I’ll tell you what’s really fast and furious here. The way the NRA and its allies play fast and loose with the facts–and how furious the American people should be that the NRA’s constant attacks on the ATF help gun-runners get away with murder."

"He also illustrates and writes a cartoon for The Onion under the pseudonym of 'Kelly', depicting the far-fetched Republican and Fundamentalist Christian one-panels of a middle-aged cartoonist. According to Onion President Sean Mills in an interview with Wikinews, the cartoon has generated "a lot of heat."[1] "He has a very unique take on what is going on in the world," said Mills, "and it does tend to upset some people, but that’s the job of an editorial cartoonist, to be a provocateur."

Walmart can't exactly compete with a lot of the things aldi does, like having small stores and only having 6-9 people working at a time.

Also, some of walmart's cost-saving measures don't work too well in europe, at least compared to the saving they'd get in the states
