>>
>>22707343
I've yet to try it but a 50-50 mix of orange juice concentrate and petrol works if you're in a hurry. I know Fight Club. A few of my friends tried out the recipe with was 2/3 orange juice and they told me 50-50 worked the best. I'm assuming your using it on people, not to blow something up.

9mm is pretty hard to get in bongistan anyway.
The only place to get it would be to loot police stations and army bases but they'll have MP5s anyway so there's no point

>>
>>22709989
Its easier to find a police station or MOD base than a gun store if you live in a big city. Where's the point in building a STEN when you can loot an MP5? Start building STENs once you're armed and trade them for more guns/sexual favors
>>
>>22709989
The problem in the UK (and many nations) is that they can't just sell you ammo without the proper permits.

Luty has some instructions on how to modify blank rounds, which could help.

idk the police would probably murder you

look at "SHTF" this way: 99% of the shit that could go wrong in any developed country is weather-related. Adverse weather can't exactly be conquered with guns and knives, nor will they help much compared to actual emergency equipment like a generator, stocks of nonperishable foods, etc. You could say that you need it to "acquire" goods, but that's unreliable, not to mention illegal and will get you arrested or killed. Likewise, you could say it's for defense, but defense from what? Experience has shown that when it's shitty out, people don't do crime. It's hard to steal TVs in the middle of a flood or ice storm. Some crime may happen, but it's hardly like there'll be roving bands of brigands tearing shit up for no reason.

And because I know someone will bring it up,
>bbbut katrina
Crime during katrina was way over-reported and many of the reports were found to be false. Very little crime happened because again, it's kinda hard to do crime when just passing through the city is next to impossible. On top of things, in any other disaster, the national guard or some other relief agency will set up a LOT faster than did in katrina, providing both refugee aid and police service, assuming it's even that bad

Basically, if you're in a developed country, SHTF prep doesn't mean buy more .223.

And if you're not in a developed country, S has already HTF

It's as simple as it looks. Just metal pipe and another pipe that slides inside the larger one that you can jam a shell into. Put a nail in the end cap and slam it into the back of the shell, it will set off the shell. Most metal conduit pipe will not explode from the round going off. Just test it with a rope or something before you hold onto it if you like your fingers.

I actually have. Canadian IMPs.

They do not require cooking, and even the couscous/rice/whatever packets that DO require hot water are not the main course. The main courses never, ever require cooking. It's nice to make them hot, but they can be eaten cold just fine.

the only thing that requires "cooking" are the rice/couscous side dishes, and I'm not even sure if they're not just dehydrated or actually require cooking or what since I gave mine to a buddy because fuck that noise

Because right now you can go to the store and buy 5 pounds of it for $10.00, which would treat THOUSANDS of gallons of water, while taking up no space in your basement.
If you were setting up your SHTF prep, would it make more sense to store thousands of gallons of water, or one bottle of treatment?

>shelf life
Yeah, a shelf life far longer than I plan to use it for. Shit, what use does it even have besides as a cleaning agent? Water treatment? I can just boil my water instead, or use filters.

>>22712530
Probably a stove and combustible stock so I can just boil it instead. Yikes. Maybe use all that bleach space to set up, I dunno, a little aquaponics setup as a 1st stage filter before I run it through a better one and boil it instead of drinking silty chlorine.

>>
>>22712591
This. el cheapo water filters are so prevalent now. you probably have one in your kitchen, a water bottle, a dispenser. If your refrigerator has a water dispenser built in, there is a filter, usually near the floor.
>>
>>22712611
No.
How do you think every major municipal center in the western world treats its water?
>>
>>22712640
My city uses mechanical filters, actually.
>>
>>22712380
Actually very small amounts of bleach in water is technically safe.
Technically.
Doesn't mean its a good idea to use often.
Filters are cheap in this day and age.
>>
>>22711138
it seems to have a use or two, have you drawn any plans for a better design?
>>
>>22712690
No, sorry I haven't felt the need to draw up a plan for a spring loaded nail that hits a round when you release a trigger. I felt it was simple enough that it couldn't be fucked up. Looks like I was wrong after seeing your work!
>>
>>22712630
I bought this at walmart for about $30.00. I keep it in my B.O.B. It's advertised as being good for 100,000 gallons.
I also bought a bottle of pool shock, and a different water filter. You never know what circumstances will be, or what will break.
I think a $10.00 backup is a worthwhile investment.
>>
>>22711486
I agree with you about how its not necessary for everyone to be getting wet dreams about killing some chinese/russian/N. Korean paratroop or even some basic rioters/looters and that its better to have a bug-in bag due to most emergencies being nature related

but a handgun or rifle is pretty nice to have if a ferguson^10 happens (major rioting) and you need to defend your self.
>>
>>22712690
just looking at this design:

if you have the ability and tools to make this shitpistol, you have the ability and tools to start turning out lutys.
>>
>>22712611
if you go over the top and use too much bleach, it could kill you over prolonged use.
>>
>>22712717
I bought 5 of those fuckers online, they're glorious.
I go hiking around lakes and use it them pretty often. Saves carrying a ton of water and it's delicious.

There's this dude on youtube who makes improvised weapons out of stuff you can buy in duty free shops, after getting security screened

Ideally you would let it sit for a day or so to allow the chlorine to evaporate off but yes you might get some damage if you overbleach and drink it solely.

I dont know who this guy is, but they are never letting him on another airplane again. But on the bright side if the happening ever happens while I am sitting around waiting for my plane to roll up.....i'm heading to the concession stand and walking out like rambo.

A wooden dowel is fine for a .22. I wouldn't want that for anything bigger, though.
Also, bumping a dying thread. I love improvised weapons/infographs

Just any ol' fibrous tissue, that soaks up the fuel you put in and gives more surface area to generate vapour

a lot of the designs I see call for fibreglass insulation

so if he put a stiff spring behind the wooden bolt that would (hopefully) PREVENT THE BOLT OPENING TOO FAST.?

i dont understand why the brass would explode though, wouldnt you just get alot of hot gas blown back into your face if the bolt opened too fast?

I agree that would happen with a stronger cartridge, but with a spring that's strong enough to fire the round, I just don't see it happening with a .22
>>
>>22707278
Well if you don't have a gun license or even a blackpowder (explosives license) then if it comes to the point where you want to make a musket/blunderbuss then use pyrodex. It's not regulated since it's a "propellant". Will work as well we gunpowder. Near enough. Very corrosive though
>>
>>22712164

Many do...though most also use some sort of chemical or UV filtration at some point.

>.410 wax slug goes steel plate ate 100 yards
Why the fuck have people, including /k/, said wax slugs are good for HD? That shit will over-penetrate like hell.

Or is that pic bullshit?
>>
>>22724382
it may well penetrate steel

However, the benefit of wax slugs is that they penetrate the first barrier they encounter very well and then expand rapidly after penetrating that first target.

The result is a slug that fucks up what you aim at and then turns to birdshot when it exits

here's a good demo
