What does /k/ think about the M&P 2.0 as a first handgun?
I've seen a lot of positive reviews. I don't plan on carrying, just taking it out to the range.
Also, 9mm or 45?
Good guns. 9mm, especially if its range only.
>>34222222
You have to get 9mm now OP. Look at those sexes!
>>34222222
Well there you go.
whats the proper way to hold a pistol? my friend said I was holding it like a faggot by putting my hand at the bottom of the handle. Does it matter if I hold it that way?
>>34222118
"tea cupping" is for revolvers to all those hot gasses don't fuck up your hand.
>>34222118
That's called teacupping. Makes you kinda look like a fag, although it was a standard usage in revolver times. I believe it was meant to control muzzle flip, but considering most are automatics these days, you want to have your supporting hand directly behind your grip hand.
Good to have the basics, but stance/hold/etc is really secondary to your performance. They may help it, so don't ignore them, but you may find your own comfort zone that may be a hybrid of technique.

Can standard earbuds work as impromptu earpro? Would it give good protection against the eeeeeeeee?
>>34221956
No. No.
>>34221956
if stuffing 5.56 cases in your ears works, anything will.
Yeah but only if you turn the music up really loud

How come polymer ARs are shit, but polymer handguns are okay?
>>34221511
Rifle rounds are far more powerful than pistol rounds. Read a book ffs.
>>34221511
They aren't. Metal frames are far superior
>>34221511
Elitism, and the fact that they could potentially blow themselves apart.
When an AR is a lego kit, you don't cheap out on the most basic parts.

did I fuck up or will I be happy with my purchase?
And sorry for making like three threads today I was scrambling to see if this was the right thing to do or not. I'll post a picture of it when everything is all set up in a week.
Tikkas are good shit. Thats about all I know, can't comment on the stock.
>>34221421
What about them is good? I hear the bolt is smooth, that's about all I know.
>>34220344
Tikkas are fabulous rifles. Incredibly accurate. Boyd's stocks are good too, but be careful not to torque the action screws too hard. They will sink into the wood until they go through to the inside of the receiver and prevent the bolt from turning. You best invest in a good torque wrench.
Hi All,
I have a new CZ P07 that I have put about 700 rounds through.
I noticed when cleaning it today that a small burr has formed on the left front rail insert. Should I send the gun in? Or try and remove it myself? Or simply shoot it until it goes away?
I'm not exactly sure what protocol is with something like this. Is it something I should worry about?
>>34219603
Just shoot it.
Here is another view.
>>34219796
It doesn't run the risk of damaging anything else does it? I can see it has obviously removed some of the finish on the slide where they contact, but that shouldn't be a big deal right?
>>34219603
>>34219834
You bought a CZ that wasent heat treated properly and its peening itself to death. It might be just that spot, it might be the whole frame.
If its just that teeny spot it could sort itself out and never have anything happen in its life, it could just end up deforming even more and ruin the rail. If the whole frame is shittily heat treated itll make more burrs, tearing up the slide, causing burrs on the slide, which tear up more of the frame until your gun shreds itself if the whole thing is fucked up with the heat treatment.
Id send it back and get the whole thing replaced. Or better yet, a refund and then buy a gun from a company that isnt rife with this kinda shit.

I'm in the market for a low magnification optic that doesn't rely on batteries.
The attached pic is a Holosun red dot that has a solar panel built in.
I'd really prefer a fiber optic red dot, but all the ones i've found are either more than the rifle or cheap crap.
The intended use is for general plinking and possible competition use.
>>34218505
Millet 1-4x with an etched reticle was pretty decent for a low price. I swapped it out for a red dot, but aside from a bit of weight it's a decent entry optic for magnification.
>>34218505
That's a zero magnification.
Do you want none, or some?
See-all sights are no batteries but have no magnification and are a little weird.

Are you yanking my chain? Of course I accept 45!
The 44 may have won the West, but the 45 won the world.
You just bought that the other day, didn't you? How you liking it so far?
>>34218660
No I have had this about 2 years actually.
It had a rough start with a few ftrb's. I'm guessing the lower barrel lug to slide stop fit was too tight. After 250 rounds it never had an issue.
Feeds Winchester pdx1s just fine too.
Been very happy with it now that it's worked the kinks out, 1911s man, I tell ya.
For anyone who wants to share their favorite knife shapes and/or styles.
For me it's a drop point folding or a nice fixed blade kukri.
For something pretty/for fun, an Italian stiletto, for something functional, KA-BAR

I know it would be stupid to use it for such a thing no matter what, but could you easily use a stiletto to fight?
