Why does accuracy matter when you can win by sheer volume of fire?
>>34275478
The whole point is suppressive fire so others can take precision shots and maneuver. If you're accurate with it even better. I was a fairly accurate LMG Gunner when I was in.

Spraying makes them take cover
Hitting makes them run away

Fair
But from a personal standpoint
Which was more fun accuracy or just unloading like there was no tomorrow
Alright /k/, i've been trying to figure out which camo pattern works best for my area during spring/summer, I live in Northern Ohio and the environment has a mix of brighter and darker greens as well as browns. I currently use M81 but i'm looking to find something more effective, where should i start?
I'll post some examples of the terrain
Heres one in the winter

Construction barrel.
/v/ maymays aside, is the action of a PPSH-41 strong enough to handle 12 gauge shells if it was scaled up?
>>34275202
probably considering shotgun pressures are comparatively low due to the smooth bore
>>34275202
1200 fps shouldn't be a problem, why would it be. Could probably even take a heavier loaded one no problem.
>>34275202
do you actually want to build it
Hey /k/, what /k/ related things did you do today? I took a cracked stock on my shotgun I got for a 100 bucks and made it my room clearer. I know it's ugly but it was never meant to be pretty.

Haha, it's legal. 19in barrel, 29in overall.
Give me one good reason (or several shitty ones) not to buy a 10/22 on the way home from work.
Usage: cheap plinking, practicing basic Marksmanship.
Marlin makes better .22s that shoot straight out of the box ruger 10/22 is jewish ploy to buy 2x value of gun in crap accessory get a marlin 60 and speedloaderp
If you're financially stable and you don't have a .22 rifle, there's no reason not to.
Oh wait.
You'll be tempted to dump $1mil of accessories into it just like I was. But yeah, get it. Also I have that stock, it's nice.
stock sights are shit on the 10/22. much better on other guns. but if you get tech sights, it's pretty worth it.
/x/phile here. I know practically nothing about the military, but I always wondered if they had any set protocols for supernatural phenomenon, similar to calling in UFO's or something. Would any branch have something to that extent or would it be more of a CIA type of deal?
Presumably it would be tracked by radar and intercepted by fighters, the same as any other air contact.
The government is so leaky these days that they'd probably announce what they saw in a press conference just so they could beat the next Snowden to the punch and maintain some control over the story.
>>34274765
They have set protocols for everything. Situations are assessed for risk on a likelihood/severity scale. It doesn't mean anything other than they decided the situation was somewhere on that matrix worth having a procedure for.
>>34274765
One of my old highschool teachers in Michigan claims when he was with the coast guard they filmed a UFO over Lake Michigan. Protocol was to mail the video to a specific address out of state. They did and never heard word back. No one from higher up ever mentioned it.

Dude shoots 5 of his co workers and himself in a ups facility in California. Media calls his weapon o' choice an "assualt pistol"
What in the fuck is an "assualt pistol" the movie.
Did they release any details about the pistol used?
>>34273951
At least one source is saying it was a Tec-9
>>34273991
MSM just love throwing the word "assault" around, don't they?
Asked a really good question by my wife, and I don't know the answer.
Pic related happens, my wife shoots and kills an armed intruder who had the intent to kill her.
What happens to the gun she used? Is it taken as police evidence because she killed the intruder with it? How long do we have to wait to get it back? Do we have to produce paperwork and permits on the gun showing that we have it registered and are the owners of it? I feel like the police should just take the break in and death report and then leave, the gun was used in self defense inside our property and I don't see any reason for them to take it or even ask questions about it. I'm asking because if they do take the weapon used in self defense or require us to produce legal paperwork on it/ask questions..our list of firearms we can use in self defense in the home is significantly lowered if my /k brothers understand what im saying...
>>34273755
>What happens to the gun she used?
almost 100% chance the gun will be taken because it is needed for evidence
of course this greatly depends on exactly what happened & also the police & prosecutors in your area
so generally people that carry or own guns have more than 1, which even that won't help if the shooting incident was questionable because the police might take all the guns
>>34273755
Unless you live in a shitty state like NY, NJ, CA, MA, RI, MD, IL, or DC, or some shitty city in a state that doesn't have preemption of local gun bullshit, they won't ask you for "paperwork." There is no paperwork in most places.
>>34273789
as for getting it back, again it depends on the situation & your area, but generally that can take weeks months or years
this is a common topic on firearms 4ms
Gun+book thread

Only one I have on my phone but it's more than just one book
Okay /k/, I need a gun to go shooting with my mates.
But I live in California, so for ease, I'm limited to local gun stores.
I've currently got a budget of $500, but used is fine.
What should I really look for?
I kind of want a decently powered rifle with a scope rail, that I can later mount one to and use for hunting, but I have no idea there. I'd rather get something that fires a cheap round though, until I can get to where I can reload.
Thing is, one of my mates went recently to go find a shotgun, and paid almost 400, for just an old pump 20ga. So I'm not sure if my budget is enough, but I can always wait for another paycheck.
Or should I just get an ar15 lower, and build from there with online parts? Or can I even do that?
Hunting what exactly?
