I live in Philly and want to find some public land to shoot on in PA. The only ranges I have around here are pistol ranges. I want to take my AR out to at least 100 yards. I'll have my birthday off and it's on a monday so that will give me two days to go out and get back, so I'm willing to do some driving if I have to. I just want a great place to shoot in PA. Within a 1-4 hour drive away is preferred.

Are any of these ranges good? or are they all fudd "no ARs 1 in the gun only" type shit?
If so are there any gravel pits or just areas I can just do whatever I want? I've never really explored PA outside Philly.

The first time? On metal parts, mineral spirits, then boiling water. Wrap the stock in an old towel and leave it in a car, it's June. Then cover everything in clp/ballistol/whatever, wipe off the excess, and reassemble.

Whatever you can buy, surp dried up. Get some decent stuff, see how accurate your gun is, and then buy accordingly. If you got one of those Russian tack drivers, great. If not, buy the cheapest stuff and blow up cans of Shasta.

there isn't much it can't do
if you shoot corrosive ammo, pour boiling water down the barrel to clean, then clean normally with hoppes or something. Don't use the cleaning rod that came with the gun, it will scratch the barrel / crown or whatever up.

you can build a pretty decent setup that will protect you from CBRN threats including nerve gas for around $500. Detection is always a problem and decontamination can be a problem depending on the agent but its not impossible like a lot of people on here seem to believe. Some nerve agents can be rendered ineffective by bleach for example. People on here also like to believe that without extensive training its utterly impossible to use coveralls and a gas mask effectively for some reason. IMO its not as hard as a lot of people here think it is but its expensive and a lot of the equipment expires.
