Convince me not to sell this gun, /k/.

It's my first and only handgun, but I need the money and I rarely ever have time to shoot it.
What do?

Rob someone with it. How much money do you need?
>>
honestly there are better guns out there you should sell it and experience something new and different to expand your experience in firearms.

Or you can keep it just to have it in your library of firearms. It depends on where you are in terms of firearms/working with firearms. If it benefits you then I would hold onto it.

I just got done watching 1944, the Estonian WWII movie.

I was only able to get the Eng dub so that detracted a bit. I also hate it when war films have a romance as a major plotpoint but don't fucking advertise it.
With the advertisement of The Quiet American and Cold Mountain I can prepare for Brendan Fraser getting deep in yellow pussy,
but 1944 just had like a 30 minute romance plot smack in the middle of the fucking movie out of nowhere. It was uncomfortable.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNYrCeLEF6w

Also gonna try and watch Cold Mountain later tonight before my Prime subscription expires.

Hey there /k/
Ausfag here, Ive kind of plateaued at the range and want to get better at long range. Been to a couple of full bore clubs but if you dont want to just shoot peep sights they cant be assed teaching ya (fare enough as thats what they are into). I just want to use my standard hunting gear (weatherby vangard S2 in .308) as Im not keen on mastering some heavy peice of shit rifle that I will only ever punch holes in paper with. There are a fuckton of books on it with varying degrees of tacticool redundant crap, does /k/ have any recommendations on basic and practical long range shooting books, vids ect.

Anyone in NH want some cheap guns?
I'm trying to thin out my personal inventory, and I mostly just want to get rid of some shit while making a bit of money.

I got
Colt AR-15 A2 carbine (fixed stock), $400
Bubbad P64 pistol, $150
Bubbad Norinco .22 bolt action, $75
Beat up old 91/30 nugget, $150
PSA 16" stainless upper, $100
A2 mid length abortion upper, $150
PSA BCG, $50

I'm in southern NH, and would rather not drive way the fuck up to Northern NH.

>Remind me why are we spending $300 million on a flying brick with 10 xbox's strapped to it

Where do you even get a $300 million figure from? The flyaway cost of an F-35A is under $100 million, total program development costs are around $100 billion, development and acquisition is around $460 billion, and total lifetime operating costs over fifty years comes close to $1 trillion in recent estimates. The F-35B and F-35C are... $50 and $80 million more expensive than F-35As respectively.

Because it's a better use of money than you getting a free degree in women's studies or whatever other useless garbage you'll say we could be spending the money on instead.

Hello my fellow /k/ommandos, it's time for round two of the /k/ 4CC team roster poll. This time around you get to decide our players and our music. I have prepared a google form for you to fill out. All the information you need is provided on the form. You can find it here: https://goo DOT gl/forms/vGzLVzS1Fp0rucIz1

If you don't know what the 4CC is, here's a quick summary: four times a year teams of various boards of 4chan hold an ai vs ai competition in the current iteration of the virtual soccer game Pro Evolution Soccer. These polls help us team managers to represent the board better.

The team will play at the end of October and the first two weekends of November. The tentative dates look like this: October 27–29, November 3–5, 11–12. This whole competition will be streamed at those dates at 1700 UTC on a channel on smashcast. The link to the channel can be found on the form and on the wiki main page:
https://implyingrigged.info/wiki/Main_Page

We newly created a discord server for the team. If you want to hang out with like-minded /k/ommandos, here's the link to it: https://discord.gg/S5YtHrE

If you have any question, just let me know. I'm looking forward to your responses.

Hey, whatever happened to that/those anon(s) trying to make a legal copy of the VSS? I remember they got a hold of some design documents or some shit and then I lost track of it a ways back without internet. For some reason it just popped into my head today.

Did anything ever come of that? Were they shut down, successful, what?

I bought a 68' virtually unfired. Sold it a while later.

>>35060635
What he said. Don't buy an old Detective Special. If anything buy the new Colt Python 2. Yes it has sharp edges all over it and the trigger stacks a bit, but it has 6 shots and Colt can actually work on it if you need to send it back for timing issues or anything. I'm carrying a S&W 637, personally.

Everyone who knew how to work on old Colts is now dead or not employed by Colt anymore. Not good for a carry gun. The one I had was in excellent condition, but they are finicky. After a few boxes of ammo I began having timing issues.

I used to have a link that showed how to identify correct Colt timing. There are a lot of details to look for, it is not so simple. I'll look around for it..

Here we go found it.. Quick mention, mine had perfect timing but the hammer started becoming wibbly and smacking on and AROUND the primer especially when fired rapidly. Again, an old Colt like these are not good for carry IMO.

How to check the critical timing of the old Colt double action revolvers.

This covers models like the Official Police, original Trooper, 3-5-7, Officer's Models, Python, Detective Special, Police Positive and Police Positive Special, Diamondback, Cobra, etc.

BOLT RETRACTION AND "SNAP BACK".
Open the cylinder and look at the small "lug" in the bottom of the cylinder window. This is the cylinder locking bolt.
Cock the hammer, and watch as the bolt retracts into the frame and pops back out.
The bolt MUST begin to retract THE INSTANT the hammer begins to move.
There MUST be NO (ZERO) hammer movement possible before the bolt starts to retract.
The bolt should retract smoothly with no hesitation until it's fully retracted, then it must pop back out with a clean "snap".
There should be no hesitation, and no amount of "creeping" back out.

CYLINDER UNLOCKING.
Close the cylinder.
Use your left thumb or fore finger to again cock the hammer, closely watching the cylinder bolt as you SLOWLY cock the hammer.
As the hammer comes back, the bolt will retract away from the cylinder.
The bolt must retract far enough to unlock the cylinder BEFORE the cylinder begins to rotate.
If the bolt is still slightly engaged with the cylinder lock notch, the cylinder will be attempting to turn while still partially locked.
This produces a "catch" or "hard spot" in the trigger pull and will damage both the bolt and the cylinder lock notches.
This often appears as metal "pulled out" of the lock notches, with rounded off and burred notches.
