All the MGS5's weapons are franken-guns, made up by mixing numerous IRL designs and pieces. Like with the past games, they had a military & weapons expert advising the team, so everything (sans the truly scifi shit) are possible. The main "ARs" for example are pretty much AR18 / 180 wannabes, soviet non-AKs have RK / Galil elements, etc.

Personally, I was quite disappointed they didn't implement real deal weapons. MGS was always full of /k/ommando porn, with amazing attention to detail at best. It's even more striking considering that so many other things are so realistic and authentic, like the uniforms and personal gear of the various military forces, or the obvious Sony Walkman casette players.

In my opinion, MGS:PW was way better Outer Heaven simulator + better Cold War commando dream game. And the better "MGS5" title it was originally meant to be.

They were fine for being fakey fake guns. They defintely took inspirations from cold war guns like FALs, M16s, Sig rifles, AKs, Vz58s, etc.

Seriously, on a point where authority is no longer capable of defending its people there should be changes. Either improved law enforcement or letting the civilians defend themselves. Or both perhaps, its a win-win with that. Criminals aquire guns anyways, why not help law-abiding citizens help

What are you basing this on? The long-time boner for old milsurp was because it was cheap. For example, now that Mosin Nagants are 500 bucks, the memes have largely faded into obscurity. On the other hand, /k/ just doesn't stop beating off to the mk17.

A clip hold rounds before they are loaded into a magazine, generally used for firearms with a fixed or internal magazine, though can be used to load removable magazines as well, media does use bother terms to reference the magazine however.

People have preferences, milsurp dudes and race-gunners are pretty much opposite ends of the spectrum, etc.

British weapons have historically been regarded as decent, in particular the Enfield series, and the SA80 was adopted a fine target rifle in sterile conditions but proved to be a pig of a gun to actually use in combat due to many flaws that became apparent in its design and build quality.

The new SA80A2 has improved on pretty much all the failing of the initial design, but it the firearm world a bad reputation is eternal.

I use a Kershaw Cinder, it's got a weird shape but is the perfect size for a keyring. No carabiner but a bottle opener and hole for a keyring. They're also cheap af.

I would get an old single shot 12 gauge and some barrel inserts for 2 or 3 hunnit smackaroos. That way you get the most versatile long gun (12 gauge) and the inserts allowing you to shoot pistol calibers making it even more versatile.

I am trying to imagine acquiring that gun in my country. "Dear police, I would like to buy this gun capable of shooting ten different calibres." "Very well, you need to submit ten gun applications each in triplicates. Should you be allowed to buy these ten guns you will not be allowed to purchase further guns and we might not allow all the calibre inserts if you already own weapons in these calibres. The ten applicastion fees will amount to..."

I would rather carry more ammo for the space and weight. And probably a .22lr pistol to boot

Please tell me you are shining the light in the muzzle end and inspects by looking into the other end.

A lot of guns only have rifling only on the first 3 inches starting from the muzzle.
