Im Looking To But One And I Am Wondering If This Is Overkill, Or Should I Just Stay With My 870?
SPAS 12 looks cool but is an amazing piece of shit.
Unless you are hanging it next to your signed Jurassic Park poster, but literally anything else besides an 87.... yeah just go ahead and kill yourself
SPAS is a collector's item, not a tool.
If you want a tool get a modern production gun. 870 is fine as a pumpgun and if you want an autoloader there are several dozen good ones for half the price of the SPAS.

alright, i guess i wont get it. mabey a saiga 12?

I was talking to my boss about this today. He claims it had to be luck, then made some analogy about golfers with hole in ones. Something about how it doesn't even happen to pros all that often. I was baffled at his comparison, because he brought it up after I said how much math it probably took, and how the sniper had to take into account for the curvature of the earth.
But was my boss right? I mean my boss is the kind of guy who always has to be right and everyone else is dumb. But also I have no idea if it really takes math or if it was a lucky shot.
>>34336513
Even with perfect math and long range shooting skills, there is still a lot of luck involved at this range. Even the most accurate rifles still have a spread larger than a human torso at two miles and you cant predict the wind very well without flags at various distances
>>34336091
>. But also I have no idea if it really takes math or if it was a lucky shot.
It took as much math as it did luck, vice versa.
A gust of wind a mile away could've turned a kill into a wounding shot, or a hit into a dent in the ground.
The hole in one analogy is actually a pretty good one. It takes tremendous skill, and a massive stroke of luck.
At that point you're really lobbing it in there and even the bullet/case loading has alot to do with these types of things.
you estimate calm-5mph for 3450meters. then a quick flap of a swallow carrying a coconut turns it into 7.65mph for a tenth second, there goes your "record.
This isnt "sniping" as much as it is lobbing bullets toward a position
I want to be prepared for a fight in Japan, and so I can protect my students, but knives and katana are illegal there. What kind of weapons are legal? I was thinking I could probably carry an iron fan and even the cops wouldn't think it was a weapon?
Not sure I can get good enough to use it tho.

hahahahahahaha holy shit now this is some chuuni bullshit
do you think life is an 80's martial arts action movie or what

When I lived in Japan I went to the local hardware store and bought a piece of rebar and wrapped tape around one end, shit was great for it
>>34335950
just get some magic powers or something, i hear that's pretty common in japan.
So what's the general thought on this? Is 5.7x28mm a good cartridge or is it just for people who want to be different? To me it looks slick as hell, but i've never held or shot one so my opinion doesn't mean shit.
>>34335850
too expensive
>>34335862
very true, the pistol itself is a grand atleast and then the cost per round is like 30-50cents ea depending on what you get. Aside from the cost downside, anything nice to say?
>>34335850
The gun feels like it is made of cheap plastic, like worse than fisher-price
Was it autism?
no, another AR-18 derivative, could've been done better, marketed better, implemented better, and cheaper too, but it is what is.
I miss future weapons... I remember being young and seeing it and being blown away imagining getting one and doing cool shit with my dog. ;-; w-why does everything I love fade away anon....

Hi /k/, I am looking for information about this air gun. Name of model or maker would be great.
It is an air rifle with a spring system, and it has a production sybol which might be identified.
I am looking to buy this used, and owner didn't know. Thanks for input.
Also going to put some pictures of similar guns I found.
It's some super generic chink air gun. My dad has 3 and I think he paid $20 apiece for them. Good guns, I shot many cans and plastic army men back in my youth with one.
>>34334864
This one I found on some trading site, and the seller had marked it as CO2.
It seems nearly identical with some minor exceptions.
>>34334864
Looks like a cheap chinese airrifle, they usually being with "B" then a number, IE B2, B3. Google chinese underlever air rifle
So I'm new to clay shooting. What shells do you guys recommend? I like sporting clays but I also want to do trap and skeet. I've had friends tell me to use 7 1/2 for everything, other friends have told me to do 7 1/2 for trap and #8 for skeet and sporting clays.
>>34334812
If you're just starting out, get birds shot or the boxes that literally say target loads on them, in whatever Guage you have.
>>34334812
You wont be able to tell a difference between the two if you're just starting out
I use 7 1/2 for almost everything. Most officially scored trap shooting clubs don't allow anything over 1 1/8 oz of 7 1/2 shot. I recommend using an improved cylinder choke for both trap and skeet.
Are you ok with full-paint your gun?

So I picked up my Marlin 1895 Guide Gun from the FFL today!
Initial impressions were very good.
The Wood looks great, blueing was even and deep, the checkering was okay, not has good as my Browing BPS or even Ruger 10-22.
The stock fitment was actually nicer than my Browning BPS, and it looks like Marlin is getting this right now.
The real issue began when I took the gun home...
After taking the gun home and running the action a bunch, I wiped down the exterior of the gun with some CLP, then wiped down the bolt and lever to remove the factory grease that was present.
After applying CLP to the bolt and parts of the action, I loaded the magazine tube with 4 Hornady Leverlution rounds.
Loading was quick and easy, and the loading gate was fine and properly screwed in(not loose).
I then tried to cycle the action to load a round into the chamber and, unfortunately, the gun locked up with the lever almost fully extended and a round just barely protruding from the magazine tube into the chamber.
After trying to force the round back into the tube unsuccessfully, as per the YouTube suggested fix. I attempted to field strip the gun.
I could not successfully unscrew the screw holding in the lever, due to tension being placed on the screw from the lever being open I presume.
I then attempted to unscrew the magazine cap, which requires 3 screws to come out...
Two came out fine, the third was far too tight and I didn't want to risk stripping it or marring the finish.
Cont....
>>34334531
At this point, I was pretty upset and didn't really see a fix that I could do with my available tools.
I called Marlin costumer service, a woman answered the phone and to her part, was helpful in setting up a shipping label.
I made it clear that there were still 4 live rounds stuck in the magazine tube, and that it wouldn't be possible to ship the gun.
I then asked where the closest place to get my gun serviced under warranty would be. ( I live in central Michigan).
>Uhhhhhh Illinois
>Is that all?
Well, long story short, there's actually a Marlin/Remington warranty service gunsmith literally 25 mins from me, which I found out by a simple google search.
Not very helpful costumer service.
Upon taking the gun into them, they had to strip two screws that were either over torqued by the factory or were already stripped, but were able to free up the live rounds.
I now have to wait a week or more for the repair work to be finished, and all I really got out of them was that the timing was probably off.
So yeah, not a good first impression, it appears Marlin is shipping guns that cannot even cycle a single round without catastrophically jamming the gun.
>InB4 leverlution.
It's literally the most common factory 45-70 load now, fuck off.
At least they got the exterior right!
>>34334531
TL;DR
Marlin is still shipping out shit guns, unless this one is a total lemon.
>>34334531
Marlin is trash, I've already said it, you should have listened but hey it's your shitgun not mine
/k/, ever since i played the classic rainbow six, which had extremely clusterfucky maps that favour whoever's inside so much, i realized that in one man clearing, you can neglect many many spots that could result in your death, especially if whoever is inside is positioned and waiting to fuck you up.
a more comprehensive example
Consider that you do not know the enemy's position beforehand
As soon as you pie your corner to smoke out A, you get tagged by B and vice versa
As soon as you slice the pie to kill 3 and 2, you will expose yourself to 1, and vice versa
TLDR how the fuck do you clear a tight corridor without exposing yourself?
>>34334518
You know you play too many rainbow 6 games when you look at OPs shitty image and realise it's the ground floor of the Hertfordshire base map on seige (minus the stairwell at the north end of the corridor.)
Is there an optic that can switch between regular, night vision and thermal?
>>34334312
Yes
>Can I afford it
No
Yeah. You need 60 kills with the holographic sight.
>>34334320
link?
Does anyone else want to see a rifle with a simplified version of the G11 action?
I mean without that whole 3 round burst thingy you could really make a sleek, light, and small rifle with this action.
I wouldn't be surprised if it weighed like 5 pounds with the form factor of a pistol caliber carbine.
You could obviously make it into a bullpup but i could totally see it working with a traditional rifle stock as well.
>>34334295
>Kraut Spess Magic
IIRC Shit's so complicated that supposedly, the initial doctrine wanted the whole action/assembly to be swapped in field with a new one.
>>34334318
This is correct. They were hermetically sealed to prevent anything from getting in, and they were 'not supposed' to fail. If it did, you'd go to the armory, and they'd just hand you a box with a new one you just slap right in.
>>34334341
>>34334318
I mean honestly that doesn't really seem like all THAT bad of a system, i mean yeah sure you can't fix a malfunction during a firefight but with a system that well sealed i doubt it would have malfunctioned very often.
what would you change in this scenario /k/
