Hello. Today I had received this karambit as a gift for self defense in Long Beach, California. It is a fixated blade, inside-edged only and of length 2.25". It also comes with a sheath and string attached to it. I was wondering what the exact laws were regarding carry of this weapon in my state of California. I'm an advanced blue belt in Shaolin Kenpo karate and am also trained for knife and gun self defense.
TL;DR I wanna know if my karambit is legal for me to carry in a bag/holster for the state of California.

"Nothing personal, m'lady"
Can someone explain to me what the appeal of having a pistol grip on a shotgun is?
I've tried shooting one and it seems like it's objectively worse than just having a stock on it.
Pic related
>>34430084
It makes the shotgun easier to use for door breaching. Or if you're in an area where you absolutely cannot use a stock.
>>34430107
That would make sense, for like enclosed areas or hallways where you don't need to aim
Portability and ease of use in confined spaces
Which is better?

I prefer 9x18Mak
>greater availability
>less expensive
>more firearms chambered in it
>better concealability
Consider the sole advantage of 7.62x25:
>better penetration
Yeah, Mak is better.

Bolt action .357 rifle.
Didn't see a thread on precision rifles up atm and I've got a few questions. I've recently become very interested in getting into long range shooting, but I've only ever shot a beat to fuck remington 700 that was my grandfathers. Where should I start as far as rifles and glass? I handload so any unicorn caliber is fine, but I've been leaning toward .338 lapua because of memes. Pic only tangentially related.

Rim fire is a great option for starting real percision shooting, Pushing 17 hmr and .22lr out to 200 yards gives you enough to really start understanding whats going on with your rounds down range, and doesn't break the bank.
Caliber wise it really depends on exactly what you're doing and how far you wanna push your self, .338lap is a great round, but it's costly and not the most user friendly imo.
Rifle wise, lots of people suggest savage, but honestly they have a shorter life span than say a Tikka or a Remington
>Reminton sucks
Yes, so do most other factory rifles, aftermarket is king in the LRPS game.
Glass wise i've had good luck with SWFA personally, and would suggest it to anyone looking to pick the sport up, that being said there are other options.
Again, just my .02. Welcome to the money pit.

Are Amphibious Tanks still a good idea?
Will we ever again see new Amphibious tanks built again?
Chinese and Russians still do i think.
Burgers either use an LAV or land a regular tank ashore. A more sensible option in an age when opposed landings are not likely to happen anymore.

Here's my uncle John, he's 90 years old. He was an engineer in the Army until 'Nam, where he transferred to Armored. He finished his career in 1967, shortly after his brother Joe got killed.

My grandpa served in the Navy during WWII. He served aboard the Destroyer Escort USS Slater. He participated in the capturing of the German submarine U-505, which is now on display in Chicago he also has his name listed among many others who helped in the effort of capturing the U-505. The ship is also a museum ship located Galveston, Texas.
Not entirely sure what he did on the USS Slater. Dad told me he was a Cook, and Gramps told me that was BS. Never did find out for sure. But my family visited the U-505 exhibit when it opened in 2004.

Meant to say it was the shipped he served on that's now on display in Galveston.

They're alright. They work fine as a range gun and you could carry one, but other than that it's what you'd expect out of a 200 dollar guns.
So yeah, go and get it.
Im literally getting hard over the sub 1000$ stainless tikka t3x in 6.5 creedmoor with THREADED 20" barrel. What licence will i need in maryland for this? I know it will still be pretty loud with a suppressor but its just going to be so nice with one.
And yeah i know a suppressor license takes 200$ and a wait for atf to figure out ur not a muslim.
>>34429367
no licence for long guns in maryland that I am aware of . and a 200 tax stamp isnt a license either...its just a stamp.
>>34429389
The $200 is a tax, not a license.
I'm looking for a good scope for my 10/22.

Do you think the 4-12x40 is overkill for the .22?
If the goal of handgun wounding is to get a big enough bullet to penetrate deep enough to hit something vital, why doesn't everyone just use .45 ACP?

because you're more likely to hit something important with more bullets

How did armored trains work?
How would they fight each other? Would the opposing armies make a schedule together to pass each other on parallel tracks or something and launch broadsides?

No silly billy they were just safer ways of transporting troops :D

1. by rolling on rails
2. they didn't fight each-other, they defended themselves from ambushes and regular vehicles like tanks and planes
3. this sounds like a very stupid idea to potentially clog up a very vital mode of transportation of vital resources needed in the war effort.

Oh nice.
So back in April of this year, I heard news of the Philippines shipping back 86k M1 Garands. Fucking love these guns. Considering picking one up through CMP, but they don't have any listings yet. I'm thinking the original M1 would be best for casual shooting. The M1C and M1D are a little too expensive for my taste.
>>34428248
Sauce? I've read about the South Korean M1 Garand and Carbines that Obama wouldn't allow to come back and the legal battle over them, but not about this.
OP here
