Bought my very first MRE today, at a surplus store near my mom's house. I'm going to try it out for breakfast tomorrow. Can't wait to get it out on the tray!
So what are your favorite and least favorite MREs? Where do you get them? What do you think of them - worth it for SHTF, a curiosity, or otherwise? Post your MRE knowledge, stories, and questions here!

MREs are fucking gross.
And you got a shitty one.
Are nunchucks good for fighting other people or are they useless in an actual fight?
>>34485630
Also, would it be a better weapon if it's made out of metal like the picture?
>>34485630
They're useful in an actual fight as much as any weapon is useful to a skilled fighter.

Is curry going to be removed in the near future?
I know that people love to meme up the Rising tiger v Falling burger doomsday scenario, but onto something a lot more serious; How likely is it that something kicks off in Asia between China and anyone else
And will it be Russia or India?
>>34484992
Not much at all, they always relied on trade and nuclear deterrence to maintain peace. They always knew they would be totally outmatched in any conventional war.
>>34485079
If India and Russia declare war on China, can Japan, SK, Taiwan, Vietnam, the Philippines and NATO dogpile it?
What does use for Home defense or bedside gun?
i own pic related (google image)
gorgeous 4" .357
i load .38 spcl horandy critical defense FTX because if i ever do need ot fire it indoors, i'm not willing to go deaf
OP here.
I currently use a Ithaca 37 with a pistol grip. I have it staged on my closet door and it takes about 2 seconds to roll out of bed and get it in my hands ready to go. I plan on putting the full stock on it when i get home tonight, ive been using 2 3/4 00 buck but i think im going to switch to 000 buck.
Hopefully soon, i will be getting a .32acp ruby for a bedside pistol.

Have you ever used your martial arts skills in a fight? I carry a knife but I'm training MMA so that I won't have to use my knife unless shit gets dire. I also carry a LCP II in case shit gets really dire.
>>34482567
Never been in a real fight so no
I've placed my hands in a position ready to put people in locks as part of de-escalation before, where they know I have them and that they lost any chance of having the initiative.
Judo helped me lots of times in school. I'm glad my dad taught me the basics. I've never been in an adult fight, however. I think doing that would be stupid. I'd rather give someone 50 bucks to fuck off than fight them with my hands. That's all they'd get, though. Any more threatening, and it's time to see if an adult gets as winded from a flip as a child does.

Being a trained boxer I have, after doing everything I could to avoid it, used my skills to put someone flat on their ass.
I didn't enjoy doing it, and doubt I ever will, but when all else fails, it's good to have a bit of training on your side.
Can we have a Cold Steel thread?
I bought a jian from them back in my teens that was pretty solid, it's nice to have a skinny little sword that can hack a pumpkin right in half. I'm thinking of picking up their gladius, too.
cold steel isn't all they are cracked up to be be
they've gained a bad stigma to attract weeaboos and teenagers that want to be tactical
they claim to be the sharpest with amazing steels
the steel isnt amazing but its OK
sharp is not a word that comes to mind when i think of cold steel sadly.
they need to stay the fuck away from axes,
their folders are top shit, myself having owned several, again, edges mediocre having to do them myself
machetes are decent, if not a little over the top with their designs, also owning a few of them,
theyre a company that people love to hate on this board
they have hits and misses

HEMAfag here
Cold Steel swords are shite, or at least their European swords are.
Badly balanced, too chunky, overbuilt meme sword-like-objects.
>>34482805
I always thought their main selling point was that you could buy a functional sword that would chop shit well for a few hundred bucks instead of a grand.

I think it was this one. I don't remember
What do you guys think of Ruger's Silent-SR ISB for the 10/22 takedown? Worth a buy, or cheap gimmick?
Also, according to their website, Reduces sound pressure levels of .22 LR to an average of 113.2 dB with standard velocity ammunition.
Would that be a decent reduction in noise level?
>>34472828
not really.
Would not be near movie quiet.
but would not need ear pro.
but it is a cool idea and a more compact package.
>>34472928
nigga it's .22, you basically don't need earpro to shoot it normally, im sure this would be fine.
Austria is getting rid of it's dozen Eurofighters since after 10 years they still can't be used at night, in bad weather or fire guided weapons.
What should we buy to replace them?
PROTIP: Must be cheap as fuck.
Gripen.
How can the Austrian DoD be so fucking dumb to enter the Eurofighter project, buy them and then not even upgrade them?
Taranis.
Come ye poorfags and slavaboos, and post sks shit. Anybody ever try out these 75 round drum mags, thoughts on them before I pick a couple up?

I've been looking to pick up a kar98k recently. What is a fair price for a decent condition one with german markings? Seems crazy to me that they are delling for over $1200 now on gunbroker.
>>34466376
A Russian capture in good shape should be about $600-700.
Don't get me wrong, I love to shoot and collect guns, but there are some things about the gun community that are so fucking cringeworthy.
