This
When you have 30 rounds on tap, a weapons light, and a red dot, only the most basic weapons handling is necessary to stop a threat. Most of which can be found by going to the range, shelling out 50$ bucks for a local class or just researching on the internet.
Most people who go to his classes just want to see him in person and interact with one of their gods.

Hold me anonkun
I am on a budget and I can only realistically afford one gun right now without majorly breaking the bank. The sticky says my first gun should be a 10/22 - for a variety of reasons. The impression I keep getting is that the 10/22 is like a "training gun" that won't be useful to me once I "learn marksmanship." I'm sure that's not true - that the 10/22 has applications beyond being an entry-level rifle - but I would like more of an explanation as to why my impulse to get a shotgun first is a bad one.
My reservation comes from the fact that I had a great time shooting off some semi auto shotguns recently. I feel like a shotgun will be overall more versatile and open up my hunting options more immediately than if I get the 10/22 first. I don't want to get the 10/22 and then feel as though I will have to eventually get my "big boy gun." How much more expensive is 12 gauge ammo compared to 22 rounds? What specifically can I hunt with a 22? Obviously I won't be able to hunt waterfowl without a shotgun, and that's what I'm hoping to work my way up to. And quail, grouse, etc.
I can't afford a semiauto shotgun, however - it would have to be a pump action. So, my choice is between a 10/22 and a pump action, and I'm trying to figure out what the best choice would be for my specific situation.
Pic related - it's what I'd probably be getting if I go shotty first.

As long as you are comfortable with the recoil of a shotgun there is nothing wrong with it being your first, though its more expensive to practice with compared to a 22
They are very useful and utilitarian guns, get a variety of loads and different chokes for a variety of different uses, I've heard that the rifled chokes do help with slugs
Flinch.
Just don't develop one and you're fine.
>>34500730
Nothing a wrong with a .22. Honestly if SHTF a ruger .22 is like the second most usful gun next to an AR/AK. Easy too find, can carry a ton of it, you can practice with it, etc
My first gun was my AR, I built it piece by piece over about 4 months. I have put about a thousand dollars into it, but it feels cheap because I was able to spread the cost.
Sup /k/.
Looking a Steyr M9 or M40. Redpill on why I do or don't want one.
It would be a plinker/IDPA gun/occasional carry piece.
Lack of aftermarket accessories is what's personally making me drag my feet.
Love everything about it, but I like handguns that if I say want to drop in a flat trigger or fuck around with a red dot, it's nice and easy... basically that means glock or sig 320 right now.

Make sure you get a Gen 4
Other than that' it's perfect.
I'm bored and figured this could be a fun idea I work at a Walmart and am a non salaried associate in sporting goods, I'm free to answer any questions including why most people you encounter working at your local store are fuck ups, and knowing the return of ARs and other tidbits.
AR platforms are coming into most to all stores that carry rifles and shotguns including companies like colt dpms sig and more I got some vendors I gotta contact for specific dates but our gun of the month program starts in August which is going to be a gun that comes with attachments and shit tier goodies for a discounted price each month every store will get a few to sell.
To answer why . 22 ammo isn't being stocked anymore, our headquarters has decided that some stores sell either to much and to frequently that we lose sales on other types of ammo but case wise 22 only comes in large shipments so they cut it from our line. I am spreading word to North around stores and found a way to start getting it back but cci won't be sending any so you'll have to deal with Remington and whatever federal sends the drawback is a halt on ammon that don't sell at Walmart like 22 250 and small handgun rounds or unique rounds.
>>34500517
>work at a Walmart
>and am a non salaried
No shit
>>34500530
You can work for wal-mart and be salaried I was department manager and coordination instructor which is a shit tier teacher, but stepped down when moving to a new store. 11.50/h to sell guns to old people I don't complain.
>>34500544
You seem like a decent enough fellow, what went wrong in your life and left you working at Wal-Mart? Well, for as much as I can tell you seem to have a glass half full attitude about it.
How does /k/ carry their shotgun ammunition?
>>34500396
Side saddle, Buttstock saddle with a extra zip up pouch.
Any way else and you're doing it wrong.
>>34500396
Velcro shotgun cards in mag pouches, velcro on the side of the gun if its necessary. Can just slap a new one on the gun as needed
Currently using a bandolier, looking into getting some of those Velcro side saddle cards from esstac
You have 5 seconds to explain why you havent suppressed your crippling autism and gone to a shooting competition.

I want everyone else to have a chance of winning
Because I keep buying guns and pretty much nothing else. I have a small ammo reserve but rarely shoot, I gave no other gear.. only one of my handguns even has a holster, I have 3 rifles I haven't even shot yet and here I am, shopping for gun deals online again. I don't know what's wrong with me
>>34500379
I keep putting off getting a properly set up conceal carry rig and thus, cannot practice with consistency as I plan on doing some USPSA with non-gamer gear and what I carry everyday.
I had a small taste of shooting against someone in a class earlier this year with everyone watching and the adrenaline rush was amazing and I want it again. It's the only thing that made me feel alive in a long time.

Anyone have a third gen Smith or experience with them around here? Rarely see them in family photos and I am hunting one. (5906)

>>34500252
Did you sell it or was it issued? What did you think of the alloy frame? I figured the stainless would age better plus I don't plan to carry it so stainless seems to be the best option for me.

I've been told I'm the "Go to guy".
What would you like to know?
>5906
Alright, firstly if you do grab one make sure it's one with the rounded trigger guard. Easier to find holsters.
Secondly, be sure it's the 2nd gen(The one with the black hammer) as there was an issue with the 1st gen where if dropped on the butt of the gun the mainspring will fail.
Target sights(Like the one pictured) will run more.
Mecgar still makes mags for them, so there's that.
>>34500252
Had one of these too. Sold it cause I didn't shoot it. Very nice gun.
Is Pat Mac our guy?
>>34500162
Not really. He's a government man with a long military record who prefers catering to police and military with his training. Sure, he loves guns and is happy to take your money too but you are definitely not "his people".

They currently have the INS Vikramaditya with the first of the indigenous Vikrant-class to be completed in 5 years.
Setting aside allies and nukes, should these be more than a match for China's Liaoning and Shandong? Also keep in mind India has a third carrier (INS Viraat) that it could bring out of mothballs if necessary.
Obviously China has money on their side but India has a much longer and stronger naval tradition, especially regarding logistics, air wings and carrier operations.
